it has progessive verses and has a nice soft chorus and pre chorus, if it were on a album, it would instantly be a single, or like all the rest of there underrated songs, maybe it would of gotten pushed into black hole. It seems to me the only reason the cars went all pop in the 80's was to get into mainsteam.
What a great song was suppose to be on "Panorama" but for some goooooofy reason it was omitted. A very important cut for all fans of the Cars thanks 4 posting...
This song returned on the CARS anthology after a 14 year absence. I can never get enough of the CARS cause of theyre lyrics were never ever depressing
@quornholio Jerry Casale from DEVO directed 2 videos for The Cars off of Panorama, (Panorama & Touch & Go) which is the same album that this B Side is from..
I had never heard this song until Anthology. Yes, should have been on Panorama 20 years earlier. The Cars are great. I'm 47 years old and still break out my Cars albums(have em all).
This was featured on the B-side of "Gimme Some Slack". I found myself listening to this more than the A-side. It never appeared on a CD until The Cars Anthology released by Rhino Records. Great song. Should've been included on "Panorama".
awesome, they should've put this song on panorama... do you have the song "thats it"? i think i might've heard it a couple of times of the anthology album...
It's sound like it could've been on the Panorama album

Great little solo by Eastman....he once said " it;s not the notes you play but the ones you don't play that are important in a cars song "

Very "Devoesque". Luv these guys.

@eurobaby460 That's a chicken/egg thing: Devo and the Cars had a similar sound all at the same time. Perhaps Devo was Carsesque!

Cool song. One of the more punk tunes they did. Nice to have it on the Anthology disc. I agree it could have easily fit on Panorama.
