wow this sounds amazing...the base line did an awesome job mimicking flea's funky base line in the song...i love this performance, the opening was great.....awesome trumpet solo....loved it...i want to play that on my trumpet
As much as I love the Red Hot Chili Peppers (My fav band) and marching band (I'm in the University of Akron marching band) this arrangement doesn't really work. RHCP just doesn't really transpose well over to this kind of ensemble. Also, it focuses WAY too much on the Californication album, when it should focus on all of their hits. Where is "Can't Stop", "Give it Away", and "Under the Bridge"?
The entire show for this was mostly based on Californication. That was the point. The 1996 RHCP show has "Give It Away" and "Under The Bridge." It's not all about doing the "hits."
well, im an really huge rhcp fan as well... and i really doubted that their songs would sound great transformed to this kind of instruments and band at first, but after listening to it i changed my mind. it shows a whole other hidden spectrum and hidden atmosphere in their guitar/bass/drum songs; i just think that its awesome and i do like it
The camera was at the second tier of the stadium. There were over 10,000 people there, and this was the smaller of the two performances from band day. That, and no one watches marching bands from the back. That would be kinda dumb.
AMAZING JOB LOW BRASS!!!

I didn't know this was on here! I marched this show. My first year on the drumline. Ah, the memories of that snare line... Thanks for posting this!
