  • For those of us who stand together against spanking, please sign this petition against corporal punishment in a public school system:

    Thanks

  • Wonderful video! I would love to see it done with professional vocalists and production (not meant as an insult to the video producer or vocalists, just imagining how great it would sound that way). Bravo!

  • Great video! And it has a very powerful message! Spanking? There's just no excuse for it. Plain and simple.

  • American absolutely needs more discipline, but hitting is not discipline, it's punishment. It's true that children who receive violent consequences are more aggressive.

  • and THIS is why American children have no discipline

  • really good at parenting... I see that you've expended so much of your energy into non-corporal punishment methods that you're too exhausted to move your PROPANE TANKS into an area inaccessible to your child. Looks like YOU need a time out

  • This is a great video! Thanks to those compassionate and creative people who made it!

  • I am forwarding this video to U.S. Congress as they are holding hearings on Abusive and DEADLY practices in SCHOOLS, Prevent Child Abuse America and the U.S. Department of Education as Physical/Corporal Punishment is ILLEGAL in 30 states, yet legal and practiced in the remaining 20 states! Research indicates spanking lowers children's IQs. The cost to ABOLISH Physical/Corporal of ALL Children in ALL Schools is $0.

  • Powerful. The message the child tells the parent "when you spank me, what I hear is "I'm bad"" is a message that will be carried with the child throughout its life. This message will lead to untold problems that research on the impacts of spanking documents everyday. Regarding 'time outs' I think an earlier comment is correct. Dr. Bryan Post finds that "time-in's" (where parent brings the child closer when parent's anger subsides) supports more potitive relationships between parent and child.

  • You did a great job! Our children are learning from us today how to respond to problems as adults. Spanking teaches that anger is an acceptable response to frustration. How much more responsible will our chidren grow to be if they are taught to respond with words and feelings rather than anger and aggression.

  • Very sweet; the song is so appropriate. About the printed text in the video i would caution about "time outs" - they are typically used as just another punishment and will also make a child angry. What children need is to be understood, taught good behavior, and have good examples from adults.

  • I loved this heartwarming video! I can see why it won first place in the video contest: touching words, darling little voice, simple music -- all combine well.
