Same stuff when you climb on top of UC... there are videos explaining how to... there are funny texture changes, floating towers and pink geometric figures sticking out of the hills. And a huge hole in the ground that looks just black/ grey, but when you aim your camera right you can look down onto UC for a second.

I loved those little hidden secrets, too bad it'll all be gone soon :(

They didnt do flying mounts because it would cost to much money to fully edit the entire world soo they simply left out flying.they are bringing it into cata because they have raised enough to edit the places so your not just flying over a blank canvas

@bighass1 In the current version each area will only load when you go through specific entry points. If you manage to find your way into a zone without using these entry points the zone will not load correctly. They have to remake the game so it will stream in the zones and allow you to enter from anywhere.

@MaggotF0rLife no u can fly in cities that why the redesign of cities bc before the maps they were on had flaws eg u cud get under and also the reason all cities where cmpltly walled in bc there was empty space behind them and in other places aswell as buildings whose roof only existed from inside,in cata they've extended city maps to fill in these places and filled in the roofs etc so u can fly in them, reason for sw's new lake it filler not really made so sw looks btr

All they need to do, to prevent PVP advantage, is NOT allow people to fly over an area controlled by an opposing faction.

They can put cannons on the surrounding hills which shoot you down, or have a spell be cast on you which throws you off if you attempt it.

You can only fly over a neutral location

Since the majority of locations in EK and Kal are neutral, it shouldn't cause major issues and it just adds to the lore about a war going on.

oh yea, and i was once told another reason why you couldnt fly in azeroth was that there was places that only GM's are aloud to get to. you can sometimes see the spots when flying on the standard flight paths. im not sure if its true, but the GM's have thier own spots that have like portals to like any region on the game and they also if have there own vendors in those areas for any gear they want. correct me if im wrong. just things i was told.

Well, that is uncorrect, GMs don't use portals, they have commands to teleport them to players and places, for example : .recall port orgrimmar

they also have some sort of portal system to the different citys. but yeah i've tryed it out on a privat server and you can use commands to move around but they do infact have portals to ;) and you earlier you could get to GM island via the zeplin from org to UC but it was only doable for really low lvl priest due to the amount of healing they had and the dmg you get from the "debuff" for swimming out to far from shore

I am unsure about the portals, But why would a GM need a portal to a city? Finding the portal, using it is slower then " .rec p orgrimmar ".

And well, the gm island is on a diffrent part of the servers ( Loading screen (Outland, Kalimdor, Eastern kingdoms, etc.) Thus you do not actually swim there as the land ends, the thing making the zeppelin change its course is a hack :p

@Machinimawatcher gm island is on the same map as kalimdor if they added on a dif map then ppl like me who like to scour patch files for new/changed things in the game that arent on patch notes wud find it and it wud make it incredibly easy to get to with a simple script command hack as it'd have a x,y,z (lenght,width,height sorta) port but currently as its on same map its x,y,z is 0.0.0 which is the same xyz as half of the game world end areas.(you insta die if u get to em reason for fatigue)

well technically, you will be able to fly your own mounts in azeroth, now that WotLK is coming out, your supposed to be able to fly in northrend. just like how RedMagier mentioned down in his comment, you can't fly by BT, it just blocks you off with an invisble wall. so if they if your able to fly in northrend they'll make it so you can't fly to the other continents or just make you have fatigue.

what Im saying is that is in my view not necessary to implement it, there arn't soo many places you need to go. karazan time is over you will still use cot, but if you are reverd which most players are you can use teleport from shat (lower city inn an elf you can speak to) and unless your planing to go on a ganking spree you really don't need it. i can admit that it would be nice when you lvl mining, and herbing. but your getting a even faster mount in wotlk, like mamoth,chopper and hogs.

Blizzard has said that while it won't come out with the expansion, it will probably be implemented at some point. However, it wasn't designed for flying mounts and thus many (MANY) bugs need to be fixed.

For those of us that have flying mounts on private servers, we know they have a SHIT load of things to fix - only a fraction is shown here. But blizzard will probably implement it at some point.

ZG set invisible walls above the instance portal to make sure flying mounts cant pass through.

use textures and dodads to hide zone boarders.
