Okay, everyone who says that it doesn't make the person a criminal is full of crap. You KNOW you're too tired. I'm sure he didn't want to kill anyone, but he should've known that it was a possibility because he was driving while he was tired.
The epidemic of driving while tired is getting worse it needs a harsher penalty. Australia needs to follow . The driver that killed my husband , gave 2 of my sons brain damage broke my 3 month old daughters legs and nearly killed me got 150 hours community service and his licence taken off him for 2 years where is our justice we did nothing wrong were just in the wrong place at the wrong time and now we have to live with it.
very sad, and shouldn't have happened. It doesn't make them a bad person because they were drowsy. That's not a criminal. I think the guilty conscience he has to live with the rest of his life is enough a punishment.
Look. I am truly sorry for this woman and her familes loss.. but, honestly? Listen to 4:15 again. "Just because your tired doesnt give you the right to kill someone" ?? Im quite positive this person wasnt thinking that he had the right to kill this womans daughter. It was a mistake and i'm sure they feel terrible about it. I think it is disgusting how adiment people become to make sure people recieve their "just punishment" for things they have done. Forgive! It hurts YOU not to, more than him.
My Mom was killed on 12-11-10 by a 19 yr. old male college student who admitted to not having slept in 24 hrs. or more, This happened in Arkansas (Conway County)
This is murder in my opinion and should be treated as such.
My husband drives a truck and has for many years. He has never had an accident. He knows what driver fatigue is and what it can do. Yet I have seen a man in his 70's get in his car and drive for 26 hours straight without stopping except for gas, food, and bathroom. It is a violation of federal law for my husband not to have a 10 hour break in every 24 hours. Something is certainly wrong with this picture.
I lost my only son due to drowsy driving. I wish the state I live in would pass this law! We have highway signs and drowsy driving commercials, but people are still driving while tired!
