WHY......didn't you gather up your kids and get down flat somewhere? I swear to God, what you did was irresponsible. Looking out the window, and then going to the other window to look out of it.
The weather service tries sooo hard to give people ample warning time. But the public has got to be smarter than this. When you see huge trees going down one after another in your yard, you need to hit the dirt....or go down to a basement. No big offense to these folks in the vid, but geeez.
@WickedTornado haha were in a basement and the ground is about 2 feet under the window. Our house is made up of rock and brick. The worst thing that could happen would be the window shattering and us flying out. Its still dangerous though your right.
@nedfbrcks13 First and foremost, you and your family should NEVER have been near ANY windows whatsoever. Small room lowest level away from windows. Put as many walls between you and the outside as possible. Get under something sturdy.
@nedfbrcks13 Not if you have a plan in place lone BEFORE your in this kind of situation. Preparing for these kind of events are absolutely essential. Sounds like your family did not have a plan in place.
@ILovestorms Jesus THANK you. I was thinking (and yes I've seen 6 over the last almost 22 years..one F5 on August 28, 1990) debris is in every shot OUT the windows and trees that would crush a LARGE building are slamming down -- and you're shooting video w/kids and family all over the place all running from window to window.
Wow , that was a scary video . Thanks God you all were safe. Can you tell me where this took place? I was in Eastern Mississippi on April 27th , tracking tornadoes. We witnessed 3 powerful ones that day.
is that rainesville sylvania henegar ider? my friends live closer to ider but their address is henegar and theirs as a EF4 and their house got destroyed
Safety tip even the weakest possible tornado is much stronger than almost any if not all humans so even in sunshiny brightness if the weakest possible tornado is notice seek shelter in a building or lie flat or both.
next time take shelter before the tornado hits, you could have been killed as well. I live in Tuscaloosa Alabama but was not in a damaged area thank god but my town was hit by an F4 (190MPH winds it was at least half a mile wide)
Wow!You all are Very Lucky!Did I hear you say you where in a cabin?I experienced one at our Vermont cabin near Okemo back around,'04,05'.It was scary as hell. Then we just went through one on 07/21/2010 in Ct.!That makes 3 for me as one came through Bristol Ct. back in the late 70's!Oh,and of coarse the cabin is sourounded by mountains so I assured my kids there was no way a Tornado could hit the cabin! It took enerything I had to hang on to them!I subbed.
Could have been worse. haha

@ILovestorms have you ever been in a tornado
nedfbrcks13 1 month ago
@nedfbrcks13 Well...I was in what my mom thinks was a tornado because trees were down in the opposite direction early that morning, 4/27. Why?
ILovestorms 1 month ago
@ILovestorms Because when your in a tornado you panic and don't think what the smart think to do.
