Carrie didn't get dropped after her first album bc she was good and America loves her. Taylor can sing I'll give him that but he's not as good as Carrie or daughtry for that matter...and he got dropped after first album bc America didn't love him like they thought they did when he was singing everyone else's songs

It's so cool that fans of so many other Idols came here to watch Taylor! Thanks guys! Taylor is arguably the most talented winner EVER to come out of Idol. It's too bad they were looking for a pop singer. Taylor is a bluesman. Always was, always will be.

@xohsnapp nowhere. lol. sorry, i'm sure he's a nice guy, but i didn't like him singing. someone once said that the show was too hokey for HIM. I laughed and was like, he made the show hokey. Carrie, Kelly and Chris legitimized it. I like Fantasia and some others too, but the CKC are obviously triumphantly successful.

@jephybean i agree. he hasn't done anything at all. it always freaked me out how he curled up into a ball when he was singing. katharines made a movie and a couple albums, but i don't get why she got dropped from her label...

@xohsnapp I think it has a lot to do with style of music. Hip hop and rap are dominating the charts right now. Pop music is the only other contender for #1's, but the catch is it has to be catchy and easily turned into a dance remix. lol. If she was given that material or focused on that material... she could easily be at the top of the charts. That's the reason Kelly made it (stuck to her guns, did own thing) and Carrie and Chris had their own genres.

@xohsnapp any idol that moved into the pop arena has met with difficulty. Pop is a fickle business, very cynical... plus, you have to add elements of hip hop and electro pop in today's market. Katharine has an old school vibe. I LOVE Katharine, but I hope she gets some new material to do. I also love her acting. She's actually quite funny too.

@jephybean oh no i completely agree, i was so mad when he won and she didn't. he was a performer, like he could get the crowd pumped but he wasn't a singer. katharine mcphee is a singer.

@xohsnapp he did not reach superstar status but is definitely still laughing all the way to the bank with his personal tours and a fair record sales base -- look at Bucky Covington and he didn't even make it to the final two - the second place and lower (top 5) many have done quite well for themselves - they had a chance to be noticed and they have American Idol on their resumes!

@caT4213 I think he was 28 and within the age limits of the show. He just had something strange happen to his hair that he couldn't help. I think (if I remember right) his hair just suddenly started turning grey when he was like 17 or so.
