I cried in fear to my husband about L&D. Even on our way to the hospital when I was having contractions, LOL. Everyone is so different. I walked/elliptical until the day I delivered. I was strong at the delivery and was able to push and deliver in like 20 min (10 hour labor) -my first baby. I can't tell you how important exercise is to delivery. Ps. I opted for an epidural... I was able to enjoy the birth and the baby right away. The hard part is AFTER L&D bringing the little one home. So much

Hi Jofus, the things that you can buy to listen to bubbas heart beat is called a doppler. They can be a little tricky to use at home but when the baby is a bit older you get to hear their heart beat every time you have a doctors visit, (which becomes more and more regular as I am sure you know) I wouldnt bother. xxxxx

Don't let those shows scare you! Everyone is different. People had me so scared when I had my first one 30 years ago, that when they told me it was time to push and deliver, I argued with them and told them no way, I wasn't hurting bad enough. Those tv shows will always show worst case for ratings. I'm not going to say its a cake walk but people had me scared to death. Just remember people have been doing this for years. You will both be fine and great parents!

Like I said in another video, getting pregnant is a miracle, you have no idea how hard it is, specially since Anna was on birthcontrol, it usually takes longer. I don't think water births are offered in hospitals in Ireland but people are always having them on one born every minute, they must be really common in the UK. They didnt shoot an episode of one born every minute in ireland, there was an irish version, cant remember what it was called. totally intense show. I love it though!

You should watch the Business of Being Born. It's a GREAT documentary. I've seen it a few times and it's very eye opening... makes birth a lot less of a scary thing for me. It's on netflix on instant and dvd if you're interested :)

You must watch The Business of Being Born, its very informative. The thing thats used to listen for a heartbeat is called a doppler, and when i was pregnant with my daughter we used to catch hell finding her heartbeat because she would move so much and would kick the doppler. So funny.
