  • Everyone looks so old, except Carolyn -3

  • can anyone tell what color her nails are? I know this is so random but I just always wondered lol

  • You can tell that John Astin is still "clearly" in love with Carolyn Jones :)

  • This script is terrible. It would have been better if it was in black and white. Color is great, but I prefer it the way it was.

  • @timemistresssr 1977 is a little long in the tooth to still be making shows in black and white.

  • Omg I still love the old Addams family bring them back!!! This is so stupid the house, music, everything!!

  • You know what - I think I'm gonna turn down all of the colors on my graphic card cause I would much more prefer a black&white version of this - I just can't stand the Addams (or the Munsters) in color. Still great to see this one again :)

  • press F13 THEN LIKE THIS

  • What's with that house? That's not the Addams Family house. That's just some suburban place with funny gables!

  • 0:44 reminds me of monkeys LOL

  • The house is too normal and the graveyard is only like 6 graves for the whole family...

  • well....

  • Well this is a bit depressing, it's almost like Morticia's grown bored of Gomez and started a meaningless and shallow affair with Lurch.

  • @bobthehoover yeah i know!

  • I remember buying this on video before he the new version came out in theate that year. This was the first time i seen the show , but i love the story about cousin shy. lol I also love the new version addems cause of the kids are meaner. Besides th new versin shows how america likes to make people look , talk and act alike, because if u don't your not human.

  • I use to have this on video tape, didn't they release this on DVD yet?

  • @kingsnake23 Sadly, it seems it hasn't made it to DVD yet. I've been awaiting its release too--would love to see this in HD.

  • I remember looking forward to this when it first came out, only to be disgusted that they didn't - or couldn't - use the original theme. And someone should've insisted on Black and White. Gomez is the MAN!

  • i like lurch!! jejeje

  • I thought that I always took to much luggage on a holiday, but Gomez is taking much more! :O

  • @JudygarlandRulez15 Hell yes! I love them more than any other couple on-screen, past, present...or future! They were so lovely together, primarily because they truly were so in love with each other. <3

  • @darkseaofempathy It's been said that Morticia and Gomez were the first TV couple to actually imply that they had a sex life. Go figure.

  • need to know something .... There is this in Spanish ... or with Spanish subtitles??

  • But shes still beautiful

  • Awww morticias more cold in this one and lost her elegance :/

  • That's what I like about THIS Addams Family, they were normal enough you can relate but different enough that they were cool and out of the ordinary. Unlike the new series and the movies where they are criminals.

  • Their house is actually pretty and kinda normal looking here.

  • Talk about a flashback, I remember being 7 and watching this. Thanks for the post.

  • Though...I must admit....Carolyns eyes seemed to have lost their usual devilish glint...they seem, cold.

  • @XxSadisticWraithxX Well, I think they all knew this material waas clearly beneath them, and didn't come close to doing the 60s show justice; plus, she had just come out of a bad marriage a few months before. But that intense spark still exists between her and John Astin, and I really see them come alive when they're together. So intense.

  • GothicxAngel I've watched both versions and this version was much better. The movies were TOO Hollywood and they made The Addams Family TRY too hard to be 'gothic' and different. This version of the Addams family personalities is much more natural.

  • Carolyn in colour even more beautiful than b&w

  • i prefer the old series. teh new one seems too...i dunno...cheap somehow..tacky...they are trying too hard to make it gory in my opinion.so hard, that instead of quality, they make it plain tacky...too much like a plastic .

  • For the record-"HALLOWEEN WITH THE ADDAMS FAMILY" aired as an NBC

special durring October 1977. not anywhere as good as the original ABC series,

it was still nice to see most of the original cast. as a harsh crittic of remakes,i

reinforce that view, because when i see TV classics remade by new producers,

new actors,etc-it arrouses a great disapointment, because the people running

our studios today have little original ideals,as this Formula has a limited success

    factor,originals are better!

  • Tish seems so cold...and Gomez seems kind of sad...this is pretty depressing to watch q.q

It feels like looking back on the old days in a sad way.

  • These guys never did it for me. Gomez seems fake and less suave with not a hint of Spanish blood to him. Morticha's dull and looks like she's thrown a random dress on for a Halloween party. Fester is a whiny cow with no depth to his character and the kids? Ugh! They're so normal. There's nothing creepy or cool or unnatural about them. The only character they actually got right was Lurch; but how could you go wrong with his character in the first place? *Sigh* I'm gonna miss Raul.

  • OMG! In color.

  • the house even doesn't look creepy from the outside..

looks almost like a normal house xD

  • In color, their house doesn't look spooky at all, just cluttered full of junk. Besides Morticia, they look much more gothic in the movies.

  • thats not the real them D:

  • this was on disney channel years ago thanks for uploading it

  • hei why Lurch dont have a blue face?

  • @F7wxqw it always bin blue, but because the old show was show in black and white you never noticed it.

  • I enjoyed the show, but this reunion movie lost all the magic.

  • I love this movie. It has all the Addams family charm. The love they had for fear. We love the happy fear they gave us weekly. This is a charming merry scary happy Halloween. Uncle Foustis makes his yearly visit to the attic to part the cobwebs and leave gifts for all the children. All the fun and good laughs are here. Enjoy my friends. I wish they would release this on DVD. They released Dr. Syn (Alias the scarecrow of Romney Marsh) on DVD. The movie from Disney and it is in a steel case.

  • The original series is still my favourite of all, because it isn't one of those silly remakes, but this one is very nice, too. How happy must the've been to play The Addams Family again!

You can see that Jackie, Carolyn, John and Ted are a well-oiled team. And the others don't 't seem to fit in. But I like it. A quite nice remake with old stars. Because of that it's not bad.

  • OMG carolyn jones looks exactly the same while everyone else looks older lol

  • @thalialuvmx no she doesn't

  • @thalialuvmx golddiggaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.........*snap*snap*

  • Happy Halloween Addams

  • I'm so glad someone posted this! Used to watch it every Halloween afternoon before going out for trick or treat...

  • So great seeing the ORIGINAL cast...in colour!!!! Thank you!

  • the new addams family?

    what happened to the old?

  • @DGuillory95: This IS the original cast. The title is misleading.

  • @TherealRNO I guess it's "new" because of Uncle Pancho, Wednesday Jr, Pugsley Jr and, uh, Lady Fingers :)

  • @fivebearrugs: Well, Lady Fingers--female Thing--did exist previously, I believe. All others are new to the cast.

  • @TherealRNO You're right about Lady Fingers; I was reading about her/it when I reading about The Addams Family show on Wikipedia, lol. From what I've also read, Mother Frump only appeared a few times on the show too.

  • @fivebearrugs: And the original Mother Frump (NOT Grand Mama, but the actual Ms. Frump) was played by none other than Margaret Hamilton aka The Wicked Witch of the West!

  • @TherealRNO I actually read that in the original comics, Grandmama Frump was the actual Grandmama and she was Morticia's mom, and Fester and Gomez were brothers. As you can see, this was switched for the TV show, hence Grandmama Addams and Hester Frump.

  • @fivebearrugs: Exactly. And Hester Frump was played by M. Hamilton.

  • @TherealRNO You're right, she first appeared in the 60s ep. entitled "Morticia Meets Royalty"--funny as hell, XD.

  • @darkseaofempathy: Exactly.

  • wow! Lurch looks like my grandpa! O_O

  • Was this filmed with a VHS camcorder?

  • This is so bad, it's good. Judging by the ratings, I'm glad so many other people feel the same way.

  • hubba hubba morticia

  • Love Lurch, he's mah favorite XD

  • what happened to the original Grand Ma-Ma? Did she pass on?

  • @wolfstev76 No, Blossom Rock was ill at the time.

  • @wolfstev76 She was very ill when they were filming so they had to replace her :(

  • @OliverEByrne aww, that's too bad. I would have liked to have seen her acting again.

  • Somebody PLEASE put this on DVD

  • I Think This Is One Of Coogans And Jones Final Appearances

  • @JudygarlandRulez15 I do too baby!!! The Addams family would be NOTHING!!!

  • i have been looking for this since my childhood years thank you thank you THANK YOU

  • it so happy to see them!!!!!!!!!! IN COLOR??!

  • @annagong963 yes it's nice but it's still weird

  • You know the younger wednesday? Thats my aunt when she was little!(; how cool is that?

  • Comment removed

  • i love john astin as gomez! no one does it better.

  • what the URL site?

  • Carolyn and John were just so electric together. It's obvious there was a strong mutual attraction between them, and I have yet to find a television couple whose chemistry can match theirs. They remain the standard by which all other TV couples are judged. They were phenomenal.

  • And Ted Cassidy (Lurch) would also go on to play Bigfoot in The Six Million Dollar Man & Bionic Woman.

  • How come in the opening credits the kids look older, put they look younger during the film?

  • @Firegirlable

Because they have 4 kids in this..

The two you see in the opening/intro are Lisa Loring and Ken Weatherwax (the "original" Pugsley and Wednesday), just as grown, as this was made in 1977, and the actual TV show was made in the early-mid 60s..

The two small kids you see later on are Wednesday and Pugsley Junior, two new kids of Morticia and Gomez, they were added in this Halloween special and wasen't in the 60s show..

  • @Addams1977 hey guess what? You see the little little wednesday? That is my aunt when she was 6! How cool is that?!?

  • i wonder whats their fetish is?? lol

  • i loved this movie when i was younger ... still do :)

  • awesome!

  • I always thought Carolyn Jones sounded a bit like Bette Davis.........

  • the woman who played the original mama frump in the addams family series- Margaret Hamilton - is the woman who played Miss Almira Gulch -The Wicked Witch of the West in The wizard of Oz movie

  • Uhhh...I have no idea what ya'll is talkin' about, cause' that, WAS AWESOME!!!!

  • hmm.. not sure which is worse.

This, or the star wars holiday special.

  • i miss the addam fmaily Q.Q

  • Carolyn Jones, still as beautiful as ever at age 47 here.

  • I was thinking the same thing. It doesn't look like she aged at all.

I agree John and Carolyn were very very close. In he origninal series they discovered that they did have an atraction to one another, but I wish they did fall in love and get married but I suppose that that is only in my dreams. :) ;)

  • I prefer the more modern Addams Family movies.I think it's darker and funnier but I might prefer the modern movies because I saw them first.

  • I just finished seeing this. I was born in '80 so I wasn't there in '77 when this was on TV. But I'm sure that it must have been a big deal. It's nice to see The Addams again and in color....but this is also a bit sad to watch because really too much time had gone by. The 70's signature is all over this...the original show had well written intelligent humor and subtlety. This one is over the top and crazy! It really isn't any good. I like the original

  • I remember reading how the only reasons why Ted Cassidy did this were 1) a paycheck and 2) the chance to work with good friends again.

  • This special honestly feels somewhat wrong without Blossom Rock in it.

Janet Rose cannot capture the eccentric behavior of Grandmama as Blossom did.

  • Right and the actress portraying Grandmama did it wrong..she played her too serious and witch like...Grandmama was the sweetest, funniest, cutest little old lady...you even forgot she was a witch..on the original show..

  • Absolutely correct. I thought Blossom's portrayal of Grandmama was adorable and cute. She was lovable.

  • Who plays Wednesday?

  • Comment removed

  • John Astin bears an uncanny resemblance to one of my uncles. Though not with half the class of Gomez ;)

  • Thank you for uploading this! I've been attempting to watch it for YEARS.

With the musical now on stage, I think a new theatrical movie should be considered. Maybe Christina Ricci could come back as a grown-up Wednesday. Highly unlikely, but still...

  • I think Ricci should be the new Morticia!

  • she does look a lot like Carolyn...she could pull it off!

  • I love how gomez stopped to freak out about his trains...and then was promptly distracted by a 'mon cher' from Tish.! XD

  • "Tish, speak some more. Soupe du jour. Eiffel Tower. Anything." <--was that in a previous Addams Family episode? I know it was in a Scooby Doo episode in '72, the "Wednesday is missing" ep. So I was wondering if SD took it from a previous ep of AF or if this movie took it from SD. Anyone know?

  • With all due respect to the subsequent actors and actresses that have played the roles of Gomez and Morticia, none have able to match the level of chemistry that John Astin & Carolyn Jones displayed.

These two were able to infused Gomez & Morticia with passion, wit and class - not to mention being darkly comical at the same time as well. Not an easy task. You could feel the love these two characters had for each other.

They will forever be rememered as the definitive versions and rightly so...

  • I thought that Anjelica Huston and Raul Julia did a fantastic job portraying Morticia and Gomez.

  • Hi Pipsipepsiluver!

Raul Julia and Anjelica Houston were both delightful in the two films that they did. They had an enjoyable on screen chemistry together. Raul got the frenzied spirit of Gomez and Anjelica served up the "vampy" aspect of Morticia with style.

I still feel that John Astin and Carolyn Jones had that extra special spark that made them dymanic. You can see the passion in John Astin's face when it comes to his love for his wife and Carolyn conveys elegant aloofness perfectly!

  • @woohooboy I agree completely. John and Carolyn were obviously quite close in real life, and there was something very special about those two. I've always wondered if perhaps they did fall in love with each other over time. Whenever I watch the show, I can just feel their chemistry radiating off the screen; you just don't see that anymore these days.

  • Oh I mean her hair soz

  • Wednesday is not black!

  • carolyn jones looked very sexy even better in colour

  • Ms Jones had cancer as Mr. Austin stated in a later interview. She may have asked for guest star billing because she thoght she wouldn't be on as much as the rest of the cast.

  • I wonder if Carolyn Jones (or her agent/"people") threatened not to participate unless she got Special Guest Star billing. Just seems odd.

  • No, I don't think so-not at all. Carolyn has always been remembered as a very warm, loving, kind person by everyone who worked with her, so that kind of behavior is very out of character. Also, John Astin said they had a wonderful time being reunited for the film. Ted Cassidy (Lurch) said John, Carolyn, Jackie Coogan (Uncle Fester) and himself sat around rehashing their lives while doing the movie and had a grand time being together. :)

  • RIP carolyn jones! you gottta love her! xx

  • I always's watched this and loved it as a kid thanks so much for finding and posting the movie of the original cast I really wish it was on dvd.

  • God, Wednesday got sooooooo hot!!!

  • No kidding! And Pugsley got..... uhm.... well, Gomez sure aged well!

  • I had heard about Wednesday being 18 in the stage musical, and I'm a bit skeptical (Wasn't she supposed to be younger than Pugsley?) although I think this might change my mind...

  • Was this on DVD?

  • NO NEVER ISSUED ON DVD

  • Well maybe they should start!!!

  • Well yes lol but its easy to find a copy its great :)

  • cool

  • Is the same actor Cousin Itt?

  • Yes, maciekur. Felix Silla was Cousin Itt in both the TV series and the TV movie.

  • I like the part at the beginning when they're all doing each other's hair

  • Pugsly is kinda hot!

  • i wonder was that ever included in Addams Family Complete tv series DVD set!

  • Great quality - thanks for uploading.

The poor guy playing Uncle Fester looks very ill.

  • He looks old, but not ill. He was old! Now he's dead.

  • This was my movie man when I was a kid in the 1990's and my mom bought this for me I loved it, it was always my favorite Addams Family movie although I do love 1 and 2, but the original that's the one. ^_^ Thanks for the upload!

  • WOW!!! Thank you 4 uploading!!!

Its so interesting, to see The original Addams cast in colour!!!

I was looking 4 this one!! Thank you!!!

  • THANKYOU!! i've been searching this for years!

  • Hey you managed to convert it in the end :)

  • Yes I did :))
