  • 0:05 glad they finally painted that building a descent color. it was pink for the longest time.

  • Great videos

  • And, the video is great, shows some of the OLD forgotten buildings that are actually a part of the western culture of America, not the shit that was built in the yr. 2000 ;) Parts of the original Omaha that NONE of us are old enough to remember =)

  • I grew uo in the Mid-west, Mostly in Illinois, Missouri, and Iowa. And yep, Nebraska too. I always hated the heartland of America, cause most of the peeps are cold. Great song, but I think, if ya listen close, you'll hear that he isn't really singing about a Nebraska town. It goes deeper than that ;)

  • i've only lived as far as illionis but i relate to this the midwest is kool.much respect to the people that live and have lived there you are the real america.

  • I'm from Nebraska and this video does nothing for Omaha. This video would have been a lot better if it had included pics of iconic pieces.... Woodman Tower, Creighton University, Old Town, Henry Doorly.... the list could go on and on. Heck most people don't even know that Omaha is the home to the largest community theatre in the US which was started by Marlon Brando's mother.... Omaha has a lot of culture and even with the gangs and growing violence it's a beautiful city.

  • thank you for this..

  • I lived in Omaha in the summer of '07. It was wonderful! God bless Nebraska!

  • I live about 6 hours from Omaha, never been there though think I'll have to give the place a look.

  • omaha is home;;;;;

  • Is there a lot of illegal immigrants in Omaha? Gang problems? I was born there and lived there off and on and want to move my family some where nice far away from liberals, illegals and gang bangers.

  • @bathedinpestilence

Well, there are a lot of gang problems here. And a lot of illegals, exploited workers i would say. Lots of liberals, but we have no voice in a state that would certainly vote for Sara Palin.

  • @omahabee OK thank you. I almost moved back to Nebraska a few years ago for a job offer in Freemont. I was looking at homes in the Elkhorn area. I think if I ever moved back there, I would live near the outskirts or possibly in Lincoln.

I live in Arizona now and this state is as conservative as it gets believe it or not. However there is a small minority of liberals who seem to have a lot of power for some reason. We've enacted some laws that would allow police officers ask if your an illegal.

  • Omaha, NE born and raised good to know someone make something like this there's a lot more to do then the pics show it would be good to stop by if u ever plan on taking a vacation let me know if u do i will show u around

  • i was born and raised in omaha and i have yet to find a city that i like more.

and these pics arnt really doin omaha justice

  • Omaha is fantastic, but this is a horrible representation Omaha.

  • @POWERherbz Omaha looks pretty good to me. Seriously. If you want to see somewhere you would`nt want to live, check out two videos called "Glasgow Highlife parts 1 and 2". Quality song from a quality band.

  • @POWERherbz what i mean is that there is way more to the city.

  • omaha is a good place i like like song

  • I was born in this city...and I love this video...this is the way the Crows should have done their video....Awesome shots.

  • Actually I'm living on west maple. But Omaha doesn't seem that spectacular compare to Denver or Dallas,

  • Weather and the People...its a shame!

  • Naw the people seem cool around here. A lot cooler then the people in Lincoln.

  • I dunna what part town are you chillin in?

  • i can't wait to visit to omaha!!

  • this song brings back alot of good memorysgood times and good friends

  • this song makes me think of the College World Series, Rosseblatte

  • I love omaha :)

    I'm originally from san diego;

I don't plan on moving back anytime soon

  • why? there is nothing here!

  • I can make Omaha in a day on my motorcycle from Baltimore. I know this because I've made Golden, Colorado in a day on my motorcycle from Baltimore before, in 2008, matter of fact. I've also ridden to Lincoln, Nebraska, twice, from here in a day. I cannot make Oakland, California in a day on my motorcycle, though. I know this because Golden took 23 hours and 15 minutes.

  • You sure you can't get from Golden, CO to Oakland, CA in 45 mins?

Just go really really fast. Haha. You only have to go through Utah and Nevada.

  • Baltimore Maryland?

  • been there .....hi to all of nebraska....kool place if you look at it right.

  • beautiful beautiful song. i've never been so obsessed with a band as i am counting crows. since they came out in '93 :) (and i was so young!) they're amazing. HE's amazing!! chrisappear, i don't know why, but this song does just the opposite for me - it makes me feel happy!

  • Great place to be if you love the seasons! I'm Proud to be Omaha grown!

  • Looks cold there...

  • i go to school at nebraska omaha and im from minnesota and its very very mild compared to minnesota its a really nice place if you like some cold but not too cold

  • omaha. this song makes me so sad

  • @ chrisappear:

    Ditto

  • Omaha wants all its former residents and commuters back. Seriously consider coming back to Omaha, it's a wonderful town. I love it dearly.

  • Omaha is HOME

  • @nebraskaomaha07 Straight to the point. Love the comment

  • I plant to visit there again next year in 2010 in March.

  • I miss Ne I wanna go Back to Omaha..I am going move back there some day

  • As much as I hated living in Omaha, because I had lived there my whole life. I really miss it. I miss all my friends and family who are there.

  • Don't go to far South, (park avenue) you'll hit beaners.

  • Hello people of Omaha! I just visited there back in the beginning of September09. Ihave to say you have a wonderful city! It's better than Denver Colorado. And Colorado is where I am from.

  • Thanks for showin' some love!

  • You must be crazy to say that because I think Omaha has more crime then Denver. Denver is the shit!! Colorado probably the best state in America.

  • Currently in Lincoln, NE, studying at UNL. Still, Omaha will always be my home.

  • I miss that dirty river town.

  • i think this is a song about going home, but i really wish i knew what some of the lyrics meant.

  • haha that was funny

  • ahh...i wish youtube had a loop feature so it would continue to play as i pack for my trip beck HOME to Omaha :D

    *goes to find the cd*

  • Time killed at my crapness job in the middle of america 3:39, Thank you! My money back here at the door now, k thanks...

  • This is a GREAT song!!! The weaving thing is so excellent.

  • I have lived in Omaha my whole life, and even though I'm only 15, I want to continue living in Omaha for years to come. Omaha has a little bit of everything. Omaha has its goods and bads, but it's a great place to live. I love Omaha!

  • I agree with you. I'm from Omaha, too but I live in michigan now. However, I still consider Omaha to be my home. I love the city and have lots of great memories.

  • Indeed Omaha is a great place to live. I left in Feb and a little part of me died ever since. Im now in El Paso Texas and dealing with the ever growing violence that spills across from Mexico. At least this song brings back some great memories. Take care now. From Rick in the border city of El Paso Texas

  • Come Home Rick... Omaha misses you... We will let you come back anytime you want...

    WestO kid..

  • Omaha is definitely a city that grows on you. I have lived here for six years now and trust me I was the last person to say that I like Omaha. I was forced to Omaha per military orders and hated the first couple of years but now I love it and think its a great place.

  • Indeed Omaha does grow on you my friend. Im in Ft. Bliss Texas (El Paso Tx) and even though this is where I was born, I honestly miss Omaha dearly. good luck to yall

  • Hey! I miss Omaha when I hear this song, and I've been to the US at all. Great song!

  • I'm a homer, but Omaha (and the Counting Crows for that matter) is awesome. I've been to many a city, and I can't think of a better place to live.

  • oh ---- come on ---- the town isn't that bad

it's just a typical american city in my point of view

  • hahah omaha's is actually 4th

    Memphis is number 1

  • great song and city..

  • my dad introduced me to the counting crows n to be honest they are class but he really does have some strange lyrics at times but intrestinging

  • Hey I live in the Big O! too! Just wondering have you traveled across that new pedestrian bridge yet. It is so cool!

  • hello from paris, france. thanks to see me what nebraska looks like. I'm interested in it since I heard bruce springsteen's Nebraska song. counting crows are only known in France with "Mister Jones" but I like her voice.

    mercy christmas

  • awesome comment :)

  • There's a lot more to Omaha than what's shown in these pictures.

  • I should hope so.. you can't show "all of a city" in a few still pictures lol.

  • Well sadly, Mr. Jones, (while a good song) is their worst song, and WAY over played. Even Round Here is alot better and is probably played once to a hundred times for Mr. Jones. Listen to more of theirs, especially August and Everything After (album title)

Oh and the singer is a guy.

  • i was born here!

  • I like the video. I moved to the southwest and this video reminded me of the reasons why I miss home. Thanks. =)

  • Born there. moved at 13 to Phoenix. Miss it. Great place to grow up!

  • Thanks so much for this video. Omaha is one of my most favorite places in our country. I wish I had a reason to visit more. People who live there should take a second to look around and notice how beautiful it is.

  • i know omaha like the back of my hand. except south omaha. haha thats the bad part. love living in omaha!

  • i love this song!!! and im from omaha too!!!

  • This song is not about Omaha. It's about the Counting Crows.

It's the heart that matters more!

  • counting crows got booed off stage in omaha nebraska thats one of the reasons they made this song and refuse to play here even to today

  • it did not really happen...it was an urban legend

  • i like omaha also because there arn't so many skyscrapers, i mean we may have some but not like New York or Boston. Im not hurtin on them or anything just sayin i like not so many skyscrapers.

  • i live in millard and it is a kik-ass place to be. besides the cold, it is a beautiful place to live. OMAHA ROX!

  • seen most of this; i live there.

its cooold this time of year. :[

  • I live in Ireland and I want to live in Nebraska so bad! its lovely there

  • omaha is the best place to live in my mind i should know i live there.

  • Props to halloween1985 for describing every city on the planet!

  • I know .. I am so amazing. Hey, you totally didn't give me any thumbs up .. where be the props? Lying sack o' crap. I could name numerous cities that don't resemble Omaha one bit .. but, my atlas is at work. Dang it.

  • I am from Fremont, and all I have to say is OUT-F'ING-STANDING WORK

I live in Montana now, but I will always have love for the O. Thank you for representing it so well.

  • grate song...

  • Omaha is part of fly over country for a reason ..

  • Yeah, and what wonderful city are you from?

Omaha is awesome.. get a clue.

  • I live in Millard .. well, Omaha .. okay okay .. Douglas County because we haven't been officially annexed. So, I'm not really from a city .. just a County. But, I do work .. wait .. no no .. I work in La Vista .. geeze, I don't know anything about Omaha. Oh, except that it has never ending construction problems, gang violence is terrible and taxes are horrendous. What an awesome place .. yay for Omaha.

  • ok first of all millard has been annexed. second the gang violence has gone down. the construction problems are something that every big city has to live with. plus they always get projects done early. omaha has been voted one of the top 3 places to live in. (nation) Omaha is great and is only improving.

  • I live in Millard and am not within city limits. I have to pay extra for things the city provides to its citizens for free (through taxes, of course). I could show you the zoning map, but I don't feel comfortable telling people where I live .. it's not me .. it's you. I'm just joshing with you .. I've lived in many big cities (Omaha isn't big, fyi) and most do not have the mess of construction as Omaha. Maybe it was Omaha's poor planning for Westward expansion that gets me ..

  • omaha is bigger then oakland minneapolis miami and many others, so yes i think it is big. the construction is not the best i will agree but they always do get done early, maybe its just the way they set up you don't like or something. Millard was annexed by Omaha in the 60's but i do believe there were some left out parts that weren't annexed. you might be one of them. i just talked to somebody about this today who is in the same boat so...

  • Yeah, it's the set up that gets me. I was born here, lived here for 10 years, moved away for 10 and came back. I lived in Chicago, Boston, New York and Orlando before coming back. Maybe it's the lack of sky scrapers that throw me off? Omaha just doesn't feel like a big city to me .. some aspects do, but not a lot. With regards to construction, they need to widen Harrison Street ASAP .. that's all I know. I don't get why Omaha is not the capital. Aren't we larger and more populated than Lincoln?

  • We are so much bigger then lincoln. Almost 300,000 more people live in Omaha then Lincoln (city limits). Omaha was the capitol for a while but it was moved to Lincoln when Nebraska became a state. People had in mind the Lincoln would become one of the largest cities in the midwest. It is but it is no where near Omaha's capacity and excitment. Omaha is a great place to live.

  • 6 murders in 7 days a cop killed its gettin a lot worse now

  • welcome to a metropolitan area of 1.2 million people. it happens

  • born in raised in omaha

    omaha is kick ass

    the song and the place

i could listen to this song forever

  • Where is the old model t taxi on the roof of safeway cab? It is on leavenworth next to the leavenworth loft apartments near the old market.

  • I worked for omaha ambulance service in the 90's. If you ever worked there or work there now ,I pray for you. I lived on 15th and Leavenworth streets near the old market. Great memories. Now I live in pennsylvania.

  • This place is beautiful. ;)

  • old memory there UNO and go go big red ,,, God belss Omaha

  • Love Omaha but where is the henry dorley zoo and rosenblat?

  • Omaha born n' raised.

  • omaha is great this song is good lived here for life and always will

  • This is the city I love. I've travelled everywhere but this is home. This city is heart, and beauty, and goodness. It's a place where you can breath.

  • I LOVE OMAHA :)

  • I would have to agree with the people who said that these pictures don't do omaha justice. You did not even get any pictures of within downtown and like two with the old market. Also i thought you could have added more where the picture is not taken from your car or with people from the city because Omaha is known for its nice people. on a brighter side i did think that this was a good idea and i love the song XD

  • if you don't like omaha fuck off

  • hell ya

  • Wow, I love this song with a passion. Can't beat Counting Crows.

  • in love omaha...spend the best 2 years of my life there.

would go back if it wasn't that far from germany

  • I love the nothingness of Omaha. Complete middle America....

  • no, it kinda is lame....i don't know how you do it better justice. growing up in Nebraska, going to Lincoln or Omaha was "vacation"...that's not vacation for anyone else in the country

  • this was not doing the city justice. its not quite as lame as the pictures portray it to be.

  • I agree, it makes Omahans look like a bunch of country bumpkins! I havent lived there in 5 years, but its not that lame!

  • ive lived here my whole life ahaha

and we are so not like

'oh let me go get my banjo'

if you know what i mean haha

  • lol theres banjo in this song

  • Nope not at all. Thanks for the vid seein it again I got all nostalgic an it was nice. Omaha kicks your ass!!!

  • Great song but the pictures aren't a very good depiction of Omaha.

  • at 1:38. thats RIGHHTTT by my housee.!

  • i livee in omaha.

    its not badd...

  • You'r right. It is Middle America...

  • Love County Crows and Love Omaha!

  • I used to live in Omaha and coming from Kansas City, it's alot smaller, but I loved it. I really miss it. The environment was fun.

  • omaha isnt going to be lame come this weekend. LSU is going to kick some ass. the tigers are looking forward to enjoying your city once again

  • sorry for double post lol

And I forgot to say that it's a great song too

  • Omaha is great :D

But we're still kind of healing because of the Von Maur shooting :[

Westroads wont ever be the same.

  • Omaha is great :D

But we're still kind of healing because of the Von Maur shooting :[

Westroads wont ever be the same.

  • we honestly arnt healing. unless family was involved we have almost completely forgotten about it.

  • Omaha is such an intresting place! Im gonna have to visit!

  • haha, its really not.

maybe i'm biased because i live here though.

  • How many songs have the heart of this one? Perfect in every way....kind of like listening to Neil Young's " Heart of Gold "

  • ahh...memorial park and dodge street. good stuff.

  • I miss nebraska...

  • I was born in Lincoln and lived in Omaha for quite a while, western suburbs to be exact.

  • I live in Lincoln Nebraska, and I must say this video is amazing! Omaha is a wonderful place. The Counting Crows described the midwest perfectly...this video was moving! Thanks

  • =] im livingg all of it.

  • How are Cornhaskers doing these days? I have been studying at UNO in 1992. I live in Prague - Czech republic/Europe. Have seen the Nebraska Preague also - that was nice.

  • They have done really bad recently. Bo Pelini is the new coach after Bill Callahan led the Huskers to a 5-7 season. Here's hoping the Big Red can get their stuff together this year.

  • Not so good. This past season the football team went 5-7. The coach, Bill Callahan, was fired and replaced by Bo Pelini. Here's hoping things go back to the way they used to be.

  • Thanks for giving a crows fan who loves this song a glimpse of "Omaha"...hope y'all feel honored at the recognition.

  • i miss omaha!!!:(

  • whats to miss here ? XD nothing to do here except Millard Days here in Millard :\

unless you across the river and gamble

  • This is a great vid 5 stars. Love the shots you got here Omaha what can i say, i love my city i dont want to leave it at all. Thank you Counting Crows and thank you jimnik1. Loved it

  • Thank you!!! :) That was a really nice thing to say!

  • I live in Omaha and I like the pictures of UNO, that's where I'm sitting right now. :P
