Aston martin db9 starting up

Aston Martins make pretty solid real world cars, they are much more comfortable to drive on standard roads than a lot of their competition. That said, they really are just Jaguars that decided to play dress-up, if you want to save yourself a hundred thousand or so just get a XK-R (The XK-RS is still a bit too strange looking).

Whoever thinks the Aston Martin's V12 is from mercedes is very mistaken. The V12 is pretty much two Mondeo V6's end on end. Aston have nothing to do with Mercedes.

The engines from the DB is a V8.

The time the DB9 was revealed, AM was in the hand of FORD.

Now AM is in hand of Mercedes

The engine in the DB9 is a 5.9 litre v12 derived from two ford v6's. The engine was developed by cosworth and first fitted to the DB7 Vantage. You are correct, Aston Martin was owned by Ford at the time of release.

Aston Martin is now owned privately by David Richards of Prodrive.

what are you talking about? the V12 from the DB9 is derived from the Vanquish's V12...which is DEFINITELY NOT, in any way a mercedes engine. in fact, it is similar to a 6-cylinder ford engine from the mondeo.

maybe you are mixing things up, the Pagani Zonda uses the AMG M297 V12-engine (which is actually also not Mercedes).

I'm a real Aston Martin fanatic as well as a Mercedes Benz fanatic and I would like to know, when the fuck has Merc ever made a 5.9 litre naturally aspirated V12? Aston Martin was previously owned by Ford, now they're a private company. Mercedes has absolutely NOTHING to do with this car.
