what are the lyrics at 6:23 they aren't listed anywhere... not even in the album booklet... i wish they included them... my favorite part of the song.
I remember listening to this band back around 1999 -2000 and thinking they were amazing and then they finally re-released leitmotif and it came out on September 11th, 2001 and my professor let us out early and I got to the mall just before EVERYTHING closed and bought it. Love this band and yes the drummer is ridiculous.
000MidnightSun: First time I heard Dredg was with Catch Without Arms.
So El Ciello i dont know that much. I better go out buy that album right away :-)
I just disagree with people saying that he can't sing anymore like he used to. I think he sings better than ever on the newest album - Better than on Catch without arms where he struggles too much on the high notes.
Its still a superalbum thoug. A masterpiece is with short intermezzos ex. Cielo / Pariah and not a standard album with 10 songs
@Tarrat77 i disagree. it's their weakest album if you ask me. i think el cielo will always be their materpiece, but catch without arms is up there, too. self titled will always be special in my heart
@daveonegative They are definitely influenced by Tool and Incubus. It's more than obvious. And they used to be a cool band long time ago. Until they sold out with "Catch Without Arms". This band used to create instrumentals with Bulgarian traditional music motives or cover strange songs like Kaiowas by the band Sepultura. That was when Dredg ruled ;) Now it's a pity to see how Gavin can't perform even his own vocal parties live anymore...
I still can't understand why people STILL constantly compare Dredg and Tool ..similar styles perhaps, but they don't sound THAT MUCH alike!! Move on and just enjoy the music!! Geez!!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Neither. I think that his vocal skills just aren't up to par with the rest of his band-mates. I also think he feels the need to impose his presence in segments of the song where it is not needed.
fuck you all, with your subjective ideas of who is great and who is shit..why is it that everybody has to argue nonissues?polarizing us against each other is the opposite of what Dredg,Tool and any other great band wants of their audience.if you hate Tool, but love Dredg it is obviously not about the music..it's your own ego conflicted about what clothes you wish to wear(clothes being a metaphor)!ignorance is a disease, the cure is simple..open your mind!rewire yourself, now that you're aware of it!
No one beats this drummer, he's insane!!! But they are all great inspiring musicians! At this moment my favorite band!!! The only minor thing that bothers me sometimes, is the stagepresence of Dino, he could express himself a bit more physically.
dredg, tool, porcupine tree, mars volta are simply brilliant. true musicians, true songwriters, truely amazing music. incubus is my fav but those four bands just embody what music is supposed to be, an exploration of your imagine, not one hit cash cows like mtv. please please please boycott mtv, if you already havnt.
it seems like everyone who likes dredg likes tool too. this song especially reminds me of tool but this band has elements of so many good bands theyre hard not to like. they remind me of a perfect circle and the killers sometimes(not that theyre that great). Mars Volta is awesome too, great to see so many people still have great taste in music
A Perfect Circle another great band of this era......Anyone who knows music knows that bands like this one (dredg) are rare now days...Almost everything else is pretty much targeted for dumbass teenagers that are my age 17 18 that dont know music
i love this song so much. leitmotif is my favorite dredg album i think. though the others are complete masterpeices as well. whens the new album due btw?
still my favorite dredg song. the break in the middle is one of the best moments ever. to me, of course. to me. wouldn't want anyone to think i was speaking objectively. that'd be ludicrous.
I will never understand why this band is so underestimated by the media...at least in Europe, don't know about the Us. This is not a complaint, I don't wish them to become a mass-market band, I'm just surprised.
because the media only hypes sucking mainstream-pop. produced fast and low quality with nothing to say. it's all about maximum cash intake. like fast food at mc donalds.
thenormal german fatass for example doesn't care about songwriting or message, let alone emotion delivered through great music. he just wants big boobs.
Aint that the truth... To tell you the truth I think bands like this one and others like Tool, and pretty much everyother bands dont care about how huge bands like the Jonas Brothers get becasue they know the have the real true fallowings you know
i love gavin but he has some pretty phunky dance moves. i would definitely say it adds to the performance because he is doing it to get in to the music and therefore what would normally be terrible/ridiculous dance moves are quite amazing and awe-inspiring.
some band's are good live, some dont

Dredg is awesome! One of my all time favorite bands. Second only to Misfits, buts that a personal thing.
Dredg is real art and talent.
IMO, Tool is a joke. They know it and admit it constantly. They're a great band and all, but they KNOW they're just fucking around.
