When i first seen the trailer to this game it shit me up and it wasnt so interesting. but then when i seen the gameplay yesterday it reminded me of bioshock ( I HATE BIOSHOCK ) and was sure not to buy it, however i downloaded the demo... and... I LOVED IT! it still has a similar feeling to Bioshock but a much better one and im not as spooked out about this game as i thourght i would be. Im definatly buying this ehen it comes out, but im gona play Darkness I first. Download if you havnt!
I will admit im a little bitter the game is taking the comic style route and not the creepy atmosphere like it did in the first game but i cant complain i enjoyed the demo i just remember the darkness scareing the crap out of me when it came out

Combat looks good and to be honest graphics arnt that important to me as long as they don't affect the gameplay . The guy playing the game is obiously shit so we shouldn't judge it's diffuculty and controls based on this . Cell Shaded doesn't follow the first game, i don't care for the comic, if i did i would buy that, not the game... It's graphic realism was far, far better than it being cell shaded, i'd rather they postpone it for a year and re-do all visual aspects.

It's not the graphics that are bad, those are fine. It's the graphic style. I understand that it's mean to follow the comic. But this isn't a comic. It's a game, a dark game. It's a dark, eerie, raw game. Making it look cartoony.. just kind of kills the thrill of the story and gamplay. I'll still get it because I loved the first.. but I don't think this will even come close to the original.

Basic fx like the darkness inhaling the shadows are removed, Jackie takes a ton more damage and the humour is no longer funny just cutesy.. i know alot of people are bitching about the graphics, well I didn't read the comics, but i still think the artistic choice works well for the game. The game has a surreal feeling, why not make the look of it reflect the feel of it.
This game is meant for the fans of the comic, not the "fans" of the first game. It's like they think that the first game followed the comic. IT DID NOT. But it was still a nice game.

@DarkProject Superhero comics are made for readers of superhero comics by readers of superhero comics. It's an insular community. Maybe a couple devs want to appease that marginal group, but everyone else involved wants to make this title broadly palatable to a much wider range of consumers. How closely the game follows the comic has nothing to do with making readers happy. It's all about what 2K Games finds marketable.

Its interesting cause now any form of light makes them retreat instead of weakening them until they retrack. Gotta admit that graphically they would have killed the creepy factor if they would have added a little slime or gloss factor to the demon itself for a great visual effect

I like the look of the game, and i hope its harder and more challenging then the first. The only BAD thing about this one is that the guy that did the first 'Jackie voice' wont be in this one.... but if the storyline is GREAT like the first one and the you get to do MORE in the game then the first, then i ain't trippin.

My worries: it looks as if there is too much emphasis on the light being bad, where as it was just an unofficial downside in the first game which would make you want to shoot them out, as opposed to needing to shoot them out, also if they have tampered with the subway system, hell being some kind of warped ww1 battle ground and the completely random side quests which make Jackie look both like a demon bad ass and an angel of mercy the genre for me has been killed, also I hope the whole game is

This game is meant for the fans of the comic, not the "fans" of the first game. It's like they think that the first game followed the comic. IT DID NOT. But it was still a nice game.
The graphical choice of presentation is great, matches the coloring of the comics/

@DarkProject Superhero comics are made for readers of superhero comics by readers of superhero comics. It's an insular community. Maybe a couple devs want to appease that marginal group, but everyone else involved wants to make this title broadly palatable to a much wider range of consumers. How closely the game follows the comic has nothing to do with making readers happy. It's all about what 2K Games finds marketable.

Although the comics don't exactly have much depth, they certainly had FAR MORE than the first game. 2K realised there was alot more to the comics besides the Italian-American mob thing.
The Darkness is best classified as SpellXgun meets Sopranos, an excellent blend by my standards

Its interesting cause now any form of light makes them retreat instead of weakening them until they retrack. Gotta admit that graphically they would have killed the creepy factor if they would have added a little slime or gloss factor to the demon itself for a great visual effect

They could do it any style they want. They chose this to give it a comic book feel and I like it. It looks like Borderlands. I just hope they added a run feature to this. That was my only gripe witht he first one. That and maybe less traveling back and forth with the subway.

My worries: it looks as if there is too much emphasis on the light being bad, where as it was just an unofficial downside in the first game which would make you want to shoot them out, as opposed to needing to shoot them out, also if they have tampered with the subway system, hell being some kind of warped ww1 battle ground and the completely random side quests which make Jackie look both like a demon bad ass and an angel of mercy the genre for me has been killed, also I hope the whole game is

Denying the art style is like saying that the comic was unrealistic, it is a cartoon/comic book made with pen and pencil, not rendered and textured. Honestly I like the art style better, makes you feel like you are in Ennis' world rather then how it is imagined by some one else.
