  • So glad to hear that she is better! Bless her and your family.

  • Yes god bless her

  • @dicapriolover830 Thank you very much! You would not recognize her now. She weighs 100 pounds is almost five feet tall and has been cancer free since May 2010! Deb

  • GOD BLESS THE CHILD N HER FAMILY!

  • hiii! LOL

  • @chearleadergirl123 ; ) Thanks!

  • what happen to her leg i seen the cast on her leg did she break it?

  • @cherilyn1989 Kayla had lots of casts. 1 in 10 leukemia kids becomes a bone breaker from the steroids they have to take. Sadly Kayla was one of the bone breakers. She is all good now, strong bones, no more breaks, doing great. Deb

  • what an amazing child! my uncle died of chemo and it was very sad. but she's a blessing

  • @shippudendani So sorry to hear about your Uncle. Thank you very much! I spent thousands of hours learning about chemo, the disease and searching for answers to help her through treatment. All the work paid off! Thank God! Now I can try to help others. Deb

  • god bless her !

  • @chesse192837465 Sorry I did not reply sooner, I did not see your post. Thank you very much. God Bless, Deb

  • Kgfvnj

  • What an amazing child! I am so glad to hear she is doing well!

  • @Wendyhasachannel Thank you very much Wendy!

  • All I can say is God bless this little cild and her parents for being there. Been through a lot of issues as a kid and it sucks..... Hope things work out. peace and love session036

  • @session036 Thank you so much! Kayla joined the ranks of survivor May 2010. We pray she never has cancer again. She is doing really well and one would never recognize her, she looks very healthy, tall and beautiful. Life is very good for all of us. Again, thanks for posting. Deb

  • i get this and they fuckin hurt!!!! in the thighs!!!! i scream so loudly!!!!!!!

  • @cynthiastar21 So sorry to hear that you are going through this. Yes, they hurt bad, but Kayla did not want to be held down by nurses. If it is done very slow it does not hurt as much. Good luck to you! Deb

  • Holy crap I dont even like flew shots way to go kid !!!!!!! your awsome

  • @48cats11 Thank you very much! Kayla

  • I could never give myself shots/injections. Damn she's brave.

  • @rachm1991 Thank you, but keep in mind she had to choose being brave or being held down by nurses. Which one would you choose? Yes, she is brave but anyone could do this when forced into a similar situation. Deb

  • Wow I truthfully think I couldn't do that dp they hurt.

  • @lilly989 You would be surprised at what you could face in trying to save your life! We all have incredible reserves of strength, that are not usually tested in day to day life. Thanks for posting. Deb

  • Thats one bad ass little girl.

  • @NorthEnd225 Thank you a lot! I have been cancer free for a year and a half and my hair is brown now and long. Very long. I hope to keep it long. Love, Kayla

  • She Is So Brave.

  • @SheeaHardHittah Thank you so much! She had to be, the only other choice would have been nurses holding her down and she knew she did not want that. She has been cancer free since May 2010. She is doing great. Happy New Year. Deb

  • She is absolutely fantastic!!!!!!!! GOOD HEALTH FOR 2012....

  • @phinchy007 Thank you very much. Same for you too! May 2012 be a year of happiness, health and prosperity for us all! Deb

  • Aww she is so adorable. I am so sorry to hear that she had it but glad to hear it is gone. My mom had to go through kemo and radiation when she had breast cancer. It was very hard we almost lost her 3 times!!!! She has been cancer free since the end of 2005.

  • @Beasty4197 A double thank you to you. For your best wishes and telling me about your Mother. Glad to hear that she is a survivor. May your mother and Kayla never have cancer again! Happy New Year. Deb

  • Wow, I can't even stand flu shots!

  • @laurenLovesPhillydip Ha-ha, you made me laugh! Thanks for posting. She has been cancer free since May 2010 and is doing great! She has grown about five inches, gained twenty pounds and has hair past her shoulders. She looks completely different. One would never know she ever had cancer. Thanks for posting! Deb

  • I remember doing that when I was on Chemo man they hurt but it good in the long run

  • @DRnikkiH0USE So happy to hear that you are a fellow survivor! Thanks for writing. Deb

  • Oh my gosh what a trooper!!!!! Wow wow wow wow wow.

  • @emro654 Thank you so very much!

  • wow what a great kid! she was aughing after just thinking of the good things:) Hope she is better and never gives up!

  • @Johnkwaps5412 Thank you John! Sorry I missed this post that is why it took so long to reply. She has been cancer free since May 2010! Woo-hoo! We pray she never has cancer again! In the meantime she is five inches taller and doing great. Thanks for posting. Deb

  • that courage is the little girl

  • @balderramatv Thank you very much. She faced the pain and worked through it. She is now cancer free, eight inches taller with a very thick head of hair down to her shoulders. Life is good! Thanks for watching and posting. Deb

  • @stylegirlztv Originally she did but she decided she would rather do it than being held down by several nurses. Keep in mind her treatment was over two years. She had to grow up fast and if you were in this situation you would too! Thanks for posting! By the way she is now cancer free and doing great! Deb

  • Wow. Thats awesome. I had Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia when I was 2-4 and I remember these shots very well. They are extremely painful and I couldn't imagine pushing my own meds in. Unreal. Im 19 now, only healed by the grace of God. I am praying for you guys. My parents told me that they spiritually put me on an alter for God, asked his will instead of theirs and gave me up to Him. Until they realized thats what they had to do, they cursed God's name. We believe that my life was spared b/c of tht

  • @justclimb77 I LOVE to hear from survivors! Especially ones that are 15 years out! Thank you so much for writing. This is an inspiration for others. God Bless. Deb

  • There are so many videos on YT of kids screaming and whining because they have to get a tiny shot in their arm (to prevent disease/illness), and it irritates me. They have no idea how lucky they are. Look how brave this kid is - after everything she must've been through already.

  • @lisacs83 That is why I did the video. One of Kayla's cancer buddies had to be held down by five nurses to get these shots. I taught her that it is better to face the pain. Thank you very much! Deb

  • She's so brave. i feel like a baby now. Because i always cry and fit when i get shots.

  • @XXXKamanachiXXXX Try facing your fear. If you face it, it goes better for you. We all have this ability in us. Kayla was terrified the first time screaming and crying for 40 minutes. But she got control of herself when she realized we were getting ready to hold her down. This was the breakthrough. She was brave every time after. Thanks for watching and commenting. Deb

  • She is such an inspiration to everyone who has been through, going through or will go through such a hard time for many.... xx

  • @TheFlutegirl101 Thank you so very much! This is why I decided to post the video. To let people know that cancer does not have to be a horrible sad thing. Again, thanks. Deb

  • wow!

  • @MySparkle123 Thank you! She is cancer free, living and loving life. Deb

  • @debwitter Glad to here she is doing well!

  • What a lovely little girl! She could show a few kids a thing or two about getting an injection! :) I wish her all the best for the future and hope that she achieves every single one of her dreams.

  • @takentoosoon1 Thank you so much! We just celebrated her 2nd cancer free Birthday! She is doing very well. Despite her past treatment she is getting A's and B's on her report cards. She was amazing and that is why I posted the video. I was sick of seeing such sad videos about cancer. There are people every day who get through treatment with dignity and courage. That is what I wanted people to see. Kayla is not the only brave child. There are lots. Deb

  • Now she can say to her friends, "Hey, I survived cancer, what have you survived?" Glad she got through cancer!

  • @StyrophomeODST Yes this is true! Thanks so much! Deb

  • I feel very strange after watching this.

  • @okaminess I understand. Cancer is stranger and most of the treatments are strange. We felt very weird going through it. The only way we got through it was to face it head on and do everything we could to stay up beat despite how we really felt. Deb

  • I could NEVER do that to myself. Kudos to Kayla.

  • @Stinkyfart Thank you very much! But remember that we all have reserves of strength in us that do not get tapped into unless challenged. You could do this and more. Deb

  • Im so happy for her.God bless

  • @Den6ise Thank you! You too! Deb

  • Oh wow! She's a beautiful, inspirational, & amazing li'l angel! She's even braver than some adults I know who will pass out at the thought of a shot! Seeing her bravery & determination, along with her actively participating in this procedure brought a smile to my face! :) May God's love embrace this precious child, & cure her of leukemia, thus allowing her to grow and blossom into a beautiful young woman! God bless you, sweet Kayla, & your family! :)

  • @cutseypoo777 Thank you so much for your beautiful words! If you look at our other videos there is one of Kayla as a survivor. She finished treatment May 2010 and is doing great. We pray that she never gets cancer again. God Bless You! Deb

  • It's things like this that make us all stop and think about life. We all take so much for granted and complain about the tiniest, most insignificant things. This little girl is so brave, beautiful and utterly amazing. God bless her, very inspirational xox

  • I think it is absolutely awesome that she is taking such an active part in her treatment! She is a very special girl.

  • @amb3785 Thank you very much! She finished treatment in May 2010 and yes, she was very involved from exercise, physical therapy, vitamins, good food, school and other stuff. She had to grow up super fast but it has all worked out great. Thanks for writing. Deb

  • I have a physical 2morrow I'm sooo scared of shots!!!!!!!!!!

  • @ShLuLu1 It will be okay. We are all afraid of shots. Instead of tensing up try to face your fear. Either way it is over fast, thank goodness. Deb

  • my uncle died..he was on chemo therapy

  • @shippudendani I am so very sorry you lost your Uncle to cancer. No words that I could say would really console or help because nothing can replace a loss like that. Deb

  • @debwitter its alright. it was 5 years ago anyways. we all miss him. im getting shots tomorrow and im very scared ): 0:

  • shes beautiful, brave, amazing, inspirational, and so many other things. words cannot explain <333 i dont know her but i love her so much.. <333

  • @iluvmusic2300 She will be delighted when she reads this. (still sleeping) I think its because this shows who she really is, a traumatic experience turned into something happy. This is why I did the video. This and so many other things made us so very proud of her! Thank you for the beautiful words you wrote they mean a lot to us! Deb

  • im afraid of needles and im looking on youtube to see people getting shots. this little girl reminded me that theres worst things than a tetanus shot. shes brave and beautiful! and im happy that she is doing better!

  • @Ctizzle315 Well, lets get honest - nobody likes needles, we are all afraid, at least a little! Thank you so much for writing. Yes, we pray she never gets cancer again and do everything in our power to stay healthy. Notes like yours make us very happy. Deb

  • Kayla, You are tough and amazing! Congratulations on being free of leukemia! Glad you are past the treatment and enjoying long hair! I hope your days are filled with fun, sun and smiles.

Video brings back memories of friends girl fighting leukemia, the hair loss, eating lot's while on predisone, spending nights at the hospital with her and all the talking we did. It's so good seeing a fighter and knowing she won the battle!

  • @jjdiver Hello, thank you so much for your beautiful message. I have to show it to Kayla when she gets home. She will love it! Deb

  • @jjdiver Thank you so much for the note to me. I am definitely enjoying my hair and I am going to this camp that's called Camp Boggy Creek. Its for kids that are on cancer and off cancer. I am going today! Life is good. Kayla

  • Im so glad she's doing ok now, Its hard at the time but in the end its all worth it.

  • @MissODonnellx You're right. The chemo was tough but it also saved her life! It was definitely worth it! Thanks so much! Deb

  • Damn..Imagine being able to say when i was younger I shot myself with needles and injected them..Twice at once! :D

    Dang! , She is brave(:

I bet you're oh so very proud!(:

  • @Miinnniie Thank you so much Minnie! Yes, we are proud of our cancer warrior. She finished treatment May 2010 is very tall, loves her shoulder length hair and is loving life without cancer. We pray she never has cancer again! You would be surprised at the strength all of us have in ourselves. Deb

  • i dont get flu shots any more cause it seems every time i get one the rush me to tha emergency room cause im about to from it lolz im used to getting shots though cause my mom said that the moment i was born i had to get poked so im used to it but still nobody in the world likes getting poked

  • @susanfarris55 Your right. She looks very calm but was a nervous wreck before hand. She did not like it at all! But she was brave and learned how to do it. Deb

  • This makes me ashamed of myself. Always that small fear of getting a flu shot.

  • @lolnation123 Do not feel that way. We were wimps before cancer. I talked with Kayla and told her "you can fight the pain and have an awful time or you can face it, go with it and have a smoother ride. She obviously chose the latter. We all have far more strength than we know but we are not challenged until forced to face things. You have it in you. : ) Deb

  • god bless her

  • @ThePitbullover123 Thank you so much! We just celebrated 1 year with out chemo on May 11th. You would not recognize Kayla now. Tall, big, healthy and lots of hair! : ) Deb

  • Such a brave little soul (: god bless you family sweetheart

  • @kk11eleven She learned early (with my help) to face the pain instead of fighting it. This video proves how well we can face things when we have to. She is now 10 years old, 4' 9" tall and gloriously healthy! May 11th is her 1 year anniversary off chemo. Thank you for writing. We pray she never has cancer again! Deb

  • oh my god, this is amazing, she just has to be so strong, giving herself her shots, then cheering at the end, that made my day

  • @aMUSEingArt Thank you so much. That is why I posted the video. She is cancer free now and looks completely different. Very grown up. But yes, we are very proud of our cancer warrior. Again, thank you. Deb

  • Wow. A true act of bravery. I'm so happy that she's better now, my best season's greetings to her and the whole family :)

  • @MissDiorista Thank you very much! Ho-ho-ho and a Happy Holiday back to you. May 2011 be the best year yet for all of us. May we all gain strength, character, love and happiness...

    Deb

  • what an amazing brave little girl! there is no way I could give myself those shots

  • @impossiblyperfect90 Every one of us has reserves of strength we have never tapped into. I would never have dreamed we would go through what we went through as a family during Kayla's treatment. Don't ever believe you cannot do something because life does throw curve balls and we catch them and run with them. Thank you so much for complimenting Kayla. She is brave. She is also cancer free as of May 2010 and doing really well. Deb

  • I might sound a little dumb, but why did she have a cast on her ankle? Did it have anything to do with the cancer or was it just a childhood injury?

  • @Navykid4thefuture120 No, good question. She had terrible bone problems from the steroids used in treatment which caused her bones to become brittle and weak. We had a whole collection of casts. She finished treatment May 2010, bones are normal and she is doing great. Thanks for asking. Deb

  • @debwitter Thanks for answering, I'm very glad she is better, she is really brave.

  • @Navykid4thefuture120 Yes, she is and thank you very much! Deb

  • shes adorable! i wouldnt be able to do that! hope all is well now! god bless

  • Oh my gosh I know this nurse! She came to my restaurant to have her daugther's birthday party there. I don't know her name but I am becoming a RN and we talked for a long time. She mentioned that she was a pediatric oncology nurse. I am learning about oncology right now and I go on youtube to learn about it and came up with your video and Boom there she is! Wow! Good Luck to you and your daughers! thank you so much for this video!=)
