Well played mate, great job. I was just wondering whats the difference between a 12 string accoustic and a 6 string, apart from the strings obviously.

On a 6 string, regular tuning is E A D G B E

Is the 12 string 2 x E, 2 x A, 2 x D, 2 x G, 2 x B, 2 x E, or does each second string differ?

With a 12 string guitar, the second set of 6 strings is tuned EADGBE. The thinner strings of the sets are tuned one octave higher for strings 6-3. The top four strings are tuned in unison BBEE.  Thus:

There is a version in the book 'Leo Kottke - Eight Songs' by John Stropes. I think it is transcribed according to how Leo played it in the early 90's or thereabouts so its slightly different from the one on 6 and 12 String Guitar.

Awesome! One of the hardest aspects of playing a Kottke tune is doing so with "feeling". Kottke puts so much feeling into his tunes and for you as a young person able to capture it is wonderful!! You have a great ear for the master... but even better you have something that very few have that attempt to play a Kottke tune >>>>>>> Feeling!! VMG needs work with the slide and slow it down alittle.
