I think that if episodes 1-3 would have been released in the 70s and the originals were released after, then 1-3 would be the classics and considered just as good if not better than the originals.. just saying..most of whats awesome in the original 3 is for its nostalgic value.. (however the the new trilogy could use a little better acting here and there)

Everybody just wait for New Hope and Empire Strikes Back. Those are the only ones worth a damn, before triple chinned Lucas became a talentless hack. And Empire, arguably the best one, was directed by Irvin Kershner so that probably explains a lot. The further Lucas is from projects the better they turn out.
