  • Good fairy tale...if not for the fact that revolutions are always backed up by other interested parties...especially US and Europe...so Wael is kind of a scape goat...who puts curtain on the eyes...when billions are spent to jumpstart this kind of revolution...

  • i don't know why this video have hate messages form some people .?

    i think it's a jealousy from Wae :)

  • So if Egypt goes to shit (which it will, real fast) Then will this "hero" be responsible?

  • Inspiring. Yeah. The military is still in charge, and the economy has got worse.

When employment increases, poverty decreases and people have food, water and shelter get back to me.

  • TEDx Cairo ! so it supposed to be in Arabic not English.. me and many people who participate in the Revolution don't like wael Ghoneim cause he is so far from our thoughts ! since he appears in the media all his talk goes to one direction THE WEST.. so GIVE your Country more Attention and participate to make something good instead of talking to Revolution.. you didn't even stayed 1 DAY in Tahrir Square even you got released !

  • @Tonsy86

    Youtube: Arab Spring Prediction

  • Romania congratz you!!!!!!!!!!

  • So bad, that now a revolution is celebrated, which has not led to anything but another name on the top of the state. There must be more reforms now and the egyptians have recognized that.

  • Dear brother Wael.....Everyone keeps saying you attended a youth meeting in the u.s as early as 2008.... with many other muslim and arab students...in that meeting you were to plan and organize democracy movements in your own nations is this true...?

  • @xoomsterrothschild I don't think so !! would he plan for Khalid said killing !!?

  • ARE YOU AN ISREALI BY ANY CHANCE

  • Keep up Wael

    you are awesome

  • to everyone who didn't like this man , if you are egyptian you're not saying that because this man give us "the egyptian youth" the hope to live free, you know everyone i'm one of the youth i'm 29 years old with nothing no job,no flat to live in and many many nothing

you konw whu this is because of mubarak and his coruppted regim

wael ghonim and his friends give us the hope to have a very little ammount of our right to live

thanks god all what happened is a very beautiful gift from allah

  • @noraumar You can also thank Allah for allowing such regimes to exist.

  • @xKlondikex : Your statement does not make any sense , but its full of Christians' typical hate against Muslims .

  • @oOoKhaledoOo Sorry to burst your bubble... But it's not as easy as to lump either a) everything you don't understand, or b) everything against Islam as one category, the Christians.

I am an atheist, and an anti-theist, and believe me you've got worse enemies than the Christians. Before replying, I highly suggest you go read one OTHER book.

    ANY other book.

  • Comment removed

  • @noraumar u r totally right . thank u very much .

  • @noraumar You said that 6 months ago. Do you still believe that? I heard the muslim brotherhood or I mean... the "freedom and justice" party just won the majority vote.

Wael Ghonim is a PERFECT example of why western technology should NEVER be given or shared with third world people. Look what he did and how all of Egypt will suffer?

and dont get me started on arabs and jumbo jets...

  • @fargonbastedge "of why western technology should NEVER be given or shared with third world people".. what the hell do you have against "thrid world people"? and dont get you stereotyped on arabs and jumbo jets????? Stereotype much???

  • @knajjar16 I have nothing against third world people. Its just history proves that when you give premative people high tech things. Then they'll use it for evil.

I live in America were we have freedom to own guns, but the blacks and mexicans are always killing each other with them.

arabs and twitter = whole region on fire

Arabs and jumbo jets = use as missiles.

Just a few examples that come to my head. And no its not racist, just observant.

  • @fargonbastedge Premative??? and your America did not create a zillion wars in the region? You are a racist idiot... And a huge portion of the Middle East are ALOT more educated than your like... How many Arabs have you met in your life? Let me guess.. Zero? If you wanna insult us, then at least spell it right... It's "primitive", you primitive ape..

  • @knajjar16 I've probably meant about 20 or so, but that still doesn't change the fact that they have an IQ of only 85. Sry bud, there just dumb people as a whole... not every single one of course, but as a mass.

Either way you didn't prove any points. Just a bunch of nomadic ramblings.

  • @noraumar It's not a gift from allah. People worked hard for this, don't pretend your god gave it to you. If he was to careless to leave you to rot for years on end why would he be on your side the moment the people decide to do something about it ?

  • I don't like him at all

  • He is just a traitor like 6th april youth .

they trained in freedom house before the revolution which gets financed by CIA and you an search up for the truth of my information if you think i am a liar

  • @mrmoussaable well .. tell me about the info u got !!

  • i hate usa and wael ghonim

  • And who could possibly dislike this ?!

  • i like u wael

  • Wael Ghonism is the official spokesperson of the Egyptian revolution. I really admire this person. I believe that all Egyptians are so proud of you... Keep on the good work...

  • the power of the ppl is much stronger than the ppl of power (Y)

  • i am heartily thanking Wael Ghonim and all the Egyptians for showing the eternal power of people with the immortal silence of Gandhi. Knowingly or unknowingly from the soil of desert you sparked the revolutionary shock-wave, the Renaissance of Truth. This will uplift the human race into the compassionate height of universal oneness. Indeed, what you performed in the soil of desert itself is the dream of all Prophets.

  • Wow :)))) thank u.. jazaka Allah 7'airan :D wishin u all the best and may u harvest the fruit of ur deeds and thoughts ;)

  • BItches wooing at the end... they have to ruin every thing .........

  • In Wael Ghoniem speechs he doesn't pauses or stop for pause but instead he cries LOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

  • great.

  • WOW

  • I'm disappointed to be honest. I expected more from Wael on a TEDx talk. His mind wasn't present, his language wasn't perfect, and he moved too much on stage and distracted me from listening to his words. In my opinion, the GREAT Egyptian revolution deserves better than this talk.

  • @aelsadek888 There is a small fact here. Wael is not a great public speaker by nature. He is a normal geek, so he can't be superior in everything just like he is in the internet.

However, what you can feel here is honesty... talking from the heart :)

  • @SalmaHegab I never said that Wael should be superior in everything, and I'm not attacking the guy either, I actually like and respect him. My point is, this is TEDx talk about THE Egyptian revolution, it needed a speaker with a present mind and a strong presence, specially that you guys made the event "top secret", which I wasn't happy about either!

And, to be honest, I didn't feel honesty or heart talk, it was cold and felt to me like a person reading from a paper in front of him! Sorry!

  • Western Leftists are oddly silent on Libya.

Wherever there is an American ally, the Left helps defeat them.

Wherever there is an American enemy, the Left assists them.

  • The Zionist dictatorship should be next to be smashed!

  • ALL HAIL THE EGYPTIAN MILITARY!! BOW DOWN!

  • Egypt revolution is all awesome and so ... but this is the most boring ted talk

  • Suddenly, tear drops are forming in the corners of my eyes, my heart is pounding in emotional rythmus of pure Joy, Hope and Inspiration.

Thank you very much for sharing from your heart.

  • @BigSAK88 yes but one major thing the middle east revolutions have showed is how the power of the media is starting to loose strength and truth is able to live and thrive through the internet a people united is a people empowered thats why i stress the importance of internet freedom

  • @BigSAK88 U simply said the truth

  • @9koubA2 You can't honestly think the "people are in control" when the military decides will nilly who is now in charge.

  • Comment removed

  • @mathew2540 sulieman isn't in charge; who told you that?

Dude update yourself, alot of changes happened. The current prime minister is loved by the people, and is one who protested in multiple days in tahrir square with the egyptian people.

  • god when will the people of INDIA understand and show their anger on corruption !!!

  • The most powerful person is not the authority but the majority

  • Is this some sort of fantasy? Isn't the corrupt military in control of the country right now? Did I miss something?

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • @qigong1001 Military isn't corrupt, and the people love and respect the military. The people are in control, the military is only 'officially' in control. But simply put, everything that the people wanted has one way or the other been achieved. All of mubarak's regime has gone, even the prime minister ahmed shafee' who almost seemed like he was staying, the people made strikes and he was removed. We currently have a prime minister loved by the people. He also striked in tahrir square before.

  • @9KoubA2 You say: "Military isn't corrupt." Do you know what the Egyptian military has done on behest of private and self interest? Are you some sort of minister of misinformation? You really think the people are in control? I wish it was true, but lets not shoot our load too soon. And Ahmad Shafiq was only replaced with another accused of having close ties to the old guard. Still too soon to tell.

  • For the last few millenia first Jews and then Christians have been invading or crusading in the area. Muslims have only been in the mix for the last 1000 years. Hate, war and crimes against humanity have become a way of life and the Anglo/American Military Industrial Complex has been happy to sell all sides their wares and steal the nations wealth for the past 100. Now we have this new Patrick Henry and witness another "star system" or nation sliping through the emporers fingers.

  • "There is a war going on for your mind. If you are thinking, you are winning."

  • OK, newsflash for all of you too gullible to see what's going on. The whole middle eastern revolution is orchestrated by the elite owned US to destabilise the region, hike up oil prices to further collapse economies and insert their own puppets.

America has massive amounts of oil in Alaska/Canada that are remaining untapped until middle eastern supplies are compromised and the global government is more in place. At that stage the US will have collapsed.

  • @IndrasBlade77 Please go to the nurse's station and ask them ot increase your medication.

  • are the people who got arrested are free now? I mean did you not forgot about them Egyptians?

  • How long will it be b4 most arab dictatorships turn off the internet, hazard a guess

  • "Poverty, coruption, lack of freedom, lack of political activism"

    Hmmm, sounds like Islam.

THE INTERNET - Destroying fucked up arab regimes since 2011.

  • @dzntms144 hopefully

  • @dzntms144 ignorant

  • We in the west have COMPLETELY under estimated and misunderstood the Arab World...Maybe rather than argue amongst ourselves we should be listening...

  • @Waltham1892 : Well, George Bush is STILL wrong, right? Arabs don't want democracy--it won't work in the Middle East. It doesn't work with Muslim culture, right?

  • @rippinsteo George Bush is STILL WRONG. Arabs want democracy, but not through invasion or occupation. Democracy can not be imposed, it must be organic.

  • @Waltham1892 : Democracy can not be imposed? The historical precedents of Germany, Japan, South Korea, Israel, Grenada, et al., and the sea of purple fingers from Basrah in the South to Mazar-e-Sharif in the North attest otherwise. Furthermore, Dubya did not so much argue for the imposition of Democracy as for the idea that freedom is the desire of every human soul and that Democracy is not inherently anathema to people of faith--including those of the Muslim or Islamic faith.

  • @rippinsteo Germany had been a Republic, Israel was a democracy from the outset, Japan was a one party state for 20 years, South Korea wasn't a democracy until after Sigmund Ree left.

You can ask the Poles, East Germans, and Czechs about how well an impressed system of govenment works once the forces of occupation leave.

You can not impose a polotical system through invasion. If you could, then the US would have reverted to Imperial Rule after the war of 1812.

  • @Waltham1892 exactly

  • The idea that Muslims are so fractious that they can only live under a dictatorship or one party rule has been revealed to be the racist and narrow minded view it always was.

The Jasmin Revolution is of the same nature as the liberal revolutions that swept Europe in the middle 1800's. Colonialism, which arrested political development in the Muslim world, delayed its arrival; but brother, its here now....

And no, I'm not a Muslim or an Arab.

  • @Waltham1892 that's assuming that he wanted democracy!

  • @AMIANDZ2 If by "he" you mean George Bush, I have no idea what he had in mind and I'm not sure he does either....

  • @Waltham1892 Exactly. Someone who gets it!

  • @pashun88

Saying that George Bush was wrong, and is still wrong, is hardly praise worthy. It was and is fairly obvious.

The since I posted that message a lot has happened. The outcome of the Arab Spring is far from clear at this piont. It may take years for the historical trend to become clear.

  • @Waltham1892 I wasn't referring to your comment on GW. The fact that he was wrong is common knowledge. I was simply glad to hear that someone understood the fact that democracy cannot be imposed. Many people cant seem to grasp that.

  • I have a dream, one day I can speak the same in China!

  • @greenmaxcn China may have to break up into smaller states for that to work.

  • Egypt is an F-18, bro. Winning!

  • They'll vote in some islamic sect, that's the true irony of this rev 2.0. Muslim nations don't make good countries period.

  • Wael Ghonim is Winning and has Tigerblood!!!!!!

  • Winning!!! 9:07

  • yay for 720p TED talks!!!

  • Super-ordinate goals bringing peace and freedom simultaneously once again.

  • @Hellogoodbye90gm u mad?

  • @rhcpconor Yes i'm on the side of the Egyptian dictator, they are framing him! He's a great man!

  • @Hellogoodbye90gm cool story bro!

  • @rhcpconor I'm not your bro, friend.

  • @Hellogoodbye90gm how about i give you a *hug* and see where it goes

  • @roidroid I know what you really want from me, and it's not gonna happen. Daddy told me to wait until i was ready for that kind of think.

  • @Hellogoodbye90gm but you'll get hug deficiency. It can lead to horrible mental symptoms.

  • @roidroid How did you know?!?

  • @Hellogoodbye90gm I'm not your friend, mate.

  • @SuperiorApostate I'm not your mate, guy.

  • @Hellogoodbye90gm I'm not your guy, bud.

  • @Hellogoodbye90gm Great man?? You must not be an Egyptian.. you sir are a disgrace to the revolution.

He's an Israeli-American puppet, who did nothing for the past 3 decades but steal our money and tear out country apart.

Please, don't defend a man who ordered to kill millions of his own people.. thank God our army stood by us.

A murderer, theif, and criminal musn't be mentioned ever again in our beautiful history with Gamal AbdelNasser.. the only loyal president.

  • @SelenaFanification You are just jealous of his superior skills as a leader.

  • @Hellogoodbye90gm hahaa yes yes. that's what it's all about. i'm jealous of his " superior skills as a leader". :) haha have a nice day.

  • @Hellogoodbye90gm

You're either trolling or you are a complete retard.

  • @9KoubA2 the revolution is trolling and retarded.

  • @Hellogoodbye90gm

A quick look at your profile page and it's obvious how much of a troll you are.

Well, have fun in your sad, lonely life of trolling

  • @9KoubA2 I don't troll.. I don't even know what that is! I think you are trying to troll me

  • @Hellogoodbye90gm Still denying it? Okay, let's pretend you don't know what a troll is, you don't have to know what it is in order to be one.

  • @9KoubA2 So what if i am a troll, explain how it makes me lonely, and sad? First off, I'm not sad, I am finding enjoyment in what i am doing . Secondly, lonely? Isn't almost everyone considered alone while on the internet? Also you are the one that is lonely, considering you replied to me 3 weeks ago, when i obviously wasn't typing to you in particular. WINNING!!!!!!

  • @Hellogoodbye90gm Okay charlie sheen why don't we end this here. Do you really want to have a pointless argument on the internet? we're not even talking about the content anymore.

Honestly I will stop replying so don't bother posting.

  • @9KoubA2 Won.

  • Did he say anonymous?

When you think about it...anon could be responsible for what's going on in the mid-east.

  • Comment removed

  • @MinmatarThrasher Anonymous does not Forgive. Anonymous does not Forget.

  • I have to ask, I just have to.

How could you possibly dislike this?

  • mubarak uses tons of proxies and dislikes this video

  • he moves his arms WAY TOO MUCH.

    other than that, inspirational speech!

  • Also his last quote is stolen from Hendrix

  • @mahchymk93 ...why go there? ...if you heard him say it ...and it meant something to you wonderful :-])

...many people have spoken those words ...it's a truth ...known by many ...shared freely ...commonly understood in our hearts

I hope people continue think, utter, speak and sing those words

    peace

  • ay kalaam felkeletsh

  • @mahchymk93 agree =\

  • Now they have an opportunity to come up with a modern constitution and bill of rights that all Egyptians can live with.

I worry that Islam will rear its aggressive head and insert itself into the mix. I hope they follow the wisdom of the those that came before, and avoid religious infusion into political structure.

  • don't sell out...

  • Egypt's top in squash!

  • Next, the USA.

  • @CurtHowland I think you're right, especially if they sentence private Manning to death.

  • @CurtHowland "Next the USA."

Heh?! Private corporations don't don't respond to protesting.

  • @t3tsuyaguy1 "Private corporations don't don't respond to protesting"

Politicians do, so the corps have to listen in order to keep their political employees in power.

  • @CurtHowland I hope that's true. I definitely think that we have to do something. The propaganda is getting so blatant it's ridiculous.

  • @t3tsuyaguy1 yes they do ... if everyone stops buying from them or working for them, they crumble ... its one of the reasons unions are important, a strike is a lot harder to organize and maintain without them ... they do have their downsides too though

  • @Th3Shadow0fDeath I think you make good points. I don't think my original comment was a very good one. I think I thought that "CurtHowland" was saying something different than he really was.

  • why would anyone thumbs down this video??

  • brave new world..

  • @amaclobo oh no, change, oh no. it's so scary

  • "the power of the people is much stronger than the people in power"

  • @itsasin1969 why?

  • our government is corrupt here in Philippines

  • The internet is the true saviour of humankind

  • I'm glad I clicked on this, great talk

  • Muslim Brotherhood is already a past. There is no place for them in modern times, in times of internet and spread of knowledge.

  • The power of people is much stronger than the people in power!

  • What does he think the people have won? Is it not in the interests of the west to be rid of certain dictators to they can be replaced with new puppets that will jump when they are told to.

  • @ehpl Hmmm.....Mubarek was an ally. Deposing him was not really in American interests. It should have been, because we love to talk about our vaunted love of freedom; but, we had much more control over him, than we will over any government created by and for the Egyptian people. Their military took power. Their military is well respected amongst Egyptians for a reason. No western power will have any puppet strings on Egypt.

  • @t3tsuyaguy1 Those are interesting points but Mubarak is ex military so they have replaced like with like and I’ve also read and heard on alternative and mainstream news that the Egyptian military is largely funded by the USA, so does this not tell us who is really in control?

  • @ehpl media manipulation and misinterpretation....

US sends $1.6bn a year to egypt for training+weapons. And the ones who really are in control are the people.

The army wanted to keep Ahmed shafee' but the people protested and forced him to leave.

So yes, the people are in control and have all the current power.

  • @9KoubA2 I would love to believe that the people are in control but how can they possibly be? The military with the weapons provided to them by the USA along with the funding for their training as you say to the tune of Billions are is this untrue? – The only way to really look at this is once the dust has settled and ask the question -who is in power and what use are they to the USA/UK? is the middle east not an area of coveted natural resources and strategic position?

  • Do we think that what is happening in the Middle East is a real people’s revolution or is it just the people being used again by the UK and USA to press on with the imperialist ideas of a handful of psychopaths? People in the street demanding jobs etc begging to be slaves, this is a revolution?

  • @GrudgyDiablo And you're articulate, too! Good job on fleeing Islam. Now work on growing a frontal lobe.

  • @GrudgyDiablo Haven't you been paying attention? Have you read the Qur'an or al-Bukhari? Have you read any Islamic history?

  • You think you're winning.... you should see Charlie Sheen.

  • This was great with Transcribe Audio on.

  • This is not about Egypt. It should be for all people suffering from the injustice, corruption and brutality of their rulers!

  • He is a FRAUD!!!!

  • he had to be Egyptian to properly pronounce the names

  • This is video describe the real situation in Egypt from the first to end we hope now Egypt will be free from fear and soon it will be the greatest country in the world.. salute to martyrs

  • i hope chinese pepole would brave the danger like egyptian, freedom long live,

  • @futurama1984 you go to work, send your kids to school, follow fashion, act normal, walk on the pavement, watch T.V., save money for your old age, obey the law. Repeat after me: You are free.

  • The comments on this video almost ruined this great video...The revolution is about the Egyptians and yet people think about what the outcome will be for us in the West. Come on...stop being so self centred and be happy for these guys and trust them to do their thing and if they want, they can be friendly to us..heck, i don't know why they'd want that since we've never really supported them in their internal conflicts

  • @MoOtJeMan Check back in a couple of months and see who is in charge of the great revolution then. I don't think that there will be much to be happy about if you are anything but an Islamist.

  • Your friend was tortured to death and u were hand cuffed ONLY!!

I think you've been prepared for something but these days maybe in the near future :)

  • @fishmshakil

    *facepalm*
