It's the same as a pitfall spike- the way he ploughs you into the ground, DK was just unlicky enough to be off the stage when he was hit.

headbutt. i once actually K.O.ed falco in melee while he trying to grab the edge & i used headbutt

Yes. These are all Spikes / Meteor Smashes. There are loads in the game.

If you look, you'll see you weren't on the edge. You had just stepped off.
i knew that. i meant i was on the edge in that fight in mellee (not related to this subject)
