Yes! Better than The 5th Dimensions version. I was there the evening this song was recorded. My buddy, Carlton Black of The Naturals doing the bass, Fontella Bass and Jackie Ross doing the background vocals. It never got the play the other version did and that was a shame! Well, I go back further than you. In Winter Park, Fl., we had a "turn-table" that I always listened to and played music by te Soul Stirrers before Sam Cooke sang lead(co-sang)and I still recall songs back then. Wow! What a voice. I think Patti rivals Aretha Franklin, Gladys Knight, and Etta James. I wish she hadn't given up singing and kept at it. I still appreciate what she did do. Patti Drew, Tammi Terrell, Brenda Holloway, the most gorgeous black soul sisters of their time, all three didn't get the chance to become as big as they should. Patti is the Queen of Chicago Soul. I hope she writes a book on her life. Beyonce, Rihanna, Ciara, Cassie, Christina Milan wish they could sing as good as Patti.
