  • "History is very simple if you only read one book"...

    New favourite qoute!

  • Nice video you are very taught. If it was higher quality it could be on TV

  • Lol, I thought the little summary titles were translating the song at first

  • "dead people love flowers" - nice:)

  • It makes me wonder whether Judas Iscariot betrayed Jesus to warn of the dangers of personality cults.

  • ironic the north korean government paid japan to have north korean schools set up in japan

  • One man looks like a real spy in his sunglasses.

  • If i were you, I wouldn't even pay for those crappy flowers! Tell those commies to go f**ck themselves ! I hate red commies

  • Commies like you chose to call them are many more today, and united against USA. SO choose your words carefully pls. Commies dont want war, we rather not fight. We love peace, but a country like USA force us to fight.

  • 2:13 is socialist Bulgaria :D

  • This video reminds me of the cult that went to South America in the 70's...Jones Town. These poor north koreans cant think on their own. That's no good!.

  • never mind "the japanese are bastards for not apologising" fuck that.....almost every country is a bunch of bastards

  • And i thought my part of the world was CRAZZZZZY!!! HOLY FUCKING SHIT SNACKS!!!

  • Thanks, this video is really informative, I learned a lot :)

  • Someone please tell me what is so great about the (Great/Dear/Supreme) Leader?

What did he do that was great for the country and other than watching pron and collecting expensive cars and stuff, what DOES he do?

  • @horsewithnoname12345 Nothing. The propoganda department however tell everyone he defeated the Japanese, and Americans. With no other source of information, the North Koreans bought it.

  • @Mikoyuan Ahhhh we have a masochist here.

  • yes very new but the thing is my friend i have been around a lot longer than you and i understand you are from the usa and dont have a clue what going on in the world as most americans but when you grow up a little maybe you will open your eyes dont believe all you see on the tv and start using something like i do its called thinking ...so wake up ..

  • LOL picture at 1:57 says it all look how hes smiling and nobody else is.

  • i know what you are saying and im sure many dont know whats going on but many do but i think in the west most people would never believe that there leaders would lie to them but open your eyes its how the game works.the masses are easy to control a few lies here and there and then they send working class kids to kill working class kids and if those kids opened there eyes they would have more in common with eachother than the wealthy cocksuckers who sent them to die...so wake up you fools...

  • @TheCatalunya Are you new to the english language?

  • 7:52 Magpie flying by.

  • look at the body language

  • I feel sick...

  • 2:32 Kim Il Sung, a fighter for freedom, independence and socialism, lol. I think he meant to say a fighter AGAINST those things.

  • 1:25 Wow, is that Ryugyong lost in the clouds? It's a shame it's been dressed up or it would make the ultimate evil palace for Kim Jong Un!

  • i also must agree with some others, that its a very half-grown rednecked-yankee way you discovered this country. you fell into both sides propaganda and disregarded that the people are, besides its insane leaders, very poor, brainwashed, very poor (did i mentioned that?), and from a total different kind of world-block (the east block, as we say in germany) you obviously dont understand.

By the way i love every tiny little film that comes out of this total isolated bizarre country.

  • Monkeetime i love this video, is great!!!! You should make a trip to my country, Cuba, well i guest is not so exotic as North Korea but i think is far funnier:)

  • @isarathai I think he should go to Cuba to. Cuban situation is similar only that not so dramatic in the cult of personality for being 90 miles south of the USA otherwise....the sky would have been the limit!!!

  • The North Korean architecture is AWESOME!

  • Greetings from East Germany, this documentary really brings me back in the 70s! The buildings, these stupid doctrine....it´s like taken back in time and re-visiting the DDR (GDR) :D

I think i should travel there! If the DDR would be a soft porn, this is a hardcore communist porn :D Good that it´s over. I wish the corean ppl in the north that they´ll unite with their brothers in the south an gain freedom like we did in germany!

  • Those poor little kids had to visit a mausoleum insead of being a kid and going to a Disneyland type place to have fun ... What a depressing place and life ! and NO, don't start spouting the usually "oh democracy is bad stuff" NO one in the 'right' mind buys that !

  • There could never be any cult of personality of a lot of deluded people didn't create and support it. And that includes the personality cult of the great lord and savior, Obama.

  • I don`t mind your commentary, but the way you guys strut around and present yourselves in the footage looks completely disrespectful to the people of North Korea. My god, show some damned respect when visiting a foreign country, or stay home.

  • @canadianjason01 If the Kumsusan Memorial Palace is "the people of North Korea", then they deserve what they got. If, on the other hand, they dont like their leader, but merely mask their hate, then there is not much to respect about the Kims, and our strutting is simply one more way of undermining the regime, however ineffective. Respect should be earned, not handed over at gunpoint. Have a nice day.

  • @monkeetime What a selfish attitude. If these people show dissent, they get put into deadly camps where they are tortured and worked to death until they starve, & you're justifying strutting around in their streets in front of them like a peacock, pretending THEY need to earn YOUR respect? You're not "undermining the regime," you're rubbing in the peoples faces what they are incapable of doing under deadly threats.

Nobody has to "earn" basic human dignity. You're not nearly THAT important.

  • @DeadlyChinchilla Clearly you should lash out at me, because I am the cause of all this evil...

  • @monkeetime You being told to treat other people with simple dignity equates to being told you're causing "evil" itself? Isn't that response a little melodramatic?

You didn't create any "evil," but you did likely cause harm to those you encountered during your visit. Thats why people don't have to "earn" basic human respect, because they have a right not to be mocked by you, especially when they have no opportunity to defend themselves. You know full well they couldn't without great risk.

  • @DeadlyChinchilla There is no Youtube in North Korea, so I dont think their feelings are particularly hurt. And what they are doing is mockable, because it is a product of human stupidity and affinity for religious bullshit. So, yeah, I reserve my right to mock them, and every country that is similarly messy. If you don't like it, I am sure "Fred" will appreciate your viewership. Have a nice day.

  • @monkeetime Yes, because adhering to strict religious and social rules under the threat of a long, tormentuous death for you AND all your loved ones is "human stupidity." Somehow I doubt you'd have the same attitude if you were forced to live under the same conditions. You talk big, being able to LEAVE, unlike them.

You'll reserve your right to act like a jackass, and I'll reserve my right to call you one for it. Have a nice day, "Fred."

  • @DeadlyChinchilla Yes, it is... And yes, I do reserve my right to be a jackass, and yes, you do have the right to call me that. That's because we don't leave in North Korea. And because in our countries people managed to restrain the bulk of human stupidity.

  • @canadianjason01 I agree with you. This guy wasted a huge filming oppertunity with his immaturity. He had a chance to give people a glimpse into a country that is very rarely seen. Sadly, the only people that his narration would appeal to are cynical teenagers. If he would have refrained from the childish antics and biased comments, I would have enjoyed watching all parts of the video. As it stands, his is not the only documentary. I don't think I will be finishing it.

  • @bauhbjingles I do not think this is immaturity in his comments, he is commenting on things that would be very difficult to understand for a westerner. I enjoy their comments!

  • @canadianjason01

None of the commentaries are more disrespectful that Kim's dynasty behavior. What can be worse that transforming over 20 million people in slaves?! This what the old pig Kim Il Sung did. This is what his piggish son Kim Jong Il preserved, and most likely this is what the youngest pig, Kim Jong un, will keep doing. Hopefully for the sake of the Korean people he is the last one. Hopefully the Koreans will manage to kill him soon...

  • @canadianjason01 You really are a morally addled Canadian, aren't you? Here's some clarity for you: as foreign tourists, these men and women are not allowed to see or speak to the "people of North Korea." They are not disrespecting those people because they have no meaningful interaction with them. They are disrespecting their official leash-holders and the propagandists who pervert international tourism for their ideological aims. And that disrespect is well-deserved.

  • @canadianjason01 Tell that to the immigrants in my country.

  • @canadianjason01 I found the way they presented themselves as being completely appropriate, and actually a respectful gesture to the North Korean people, , because if anything it was meant as disrespect to the North Korean government who treat their people with terrible indignity. Did you actually watch and listen to this documentary?the reason they are angry and sarcastic is part of coping with the audacity of a literally evil government.

  • @canadianjason01 how can u respect a monster? the whole KIM family made a puppet factory out of north korea

  • ive been there, the country is mockable. i will send u money for fare if u want to go there. but when u r there u will realized that your stupid enough to waste your precious time.

  • @canadianjason01 STFU. That government deserves no respect.

  • @canadianjason01 the video said - idiots may be offended, so as you are an idiot, save our time with your comment and go k....l yourself. Explain me why, they should respect this regime, which doesn’t respect anything? Only because of people like you the USA is being upheld from crushing this murderess regime.

  • @canadianjason01 Google the "Testimony of Ms. Soon Ok Lee" and learn about the N Korean torture camps.

  • Fantastic Documentary and i personally think the narration is great. Informative and very funny. Great job !

  • @Mikoyuan You could try, but a better question is "why?".

  • Man, the US were a problem just as big as the Soviets during the korean war. If the US would have not feel the urge of putting their hands on Korea after WW2 probably the country would still be united, and no DPRK would exist nowadays. Handing every responsibility over others(although the Soviet HAD responsibility)is slightly hypocrite told from the country that originated more wars and golpes than any other, and stole anything it could in any part of the world. be coherent please.

  • @fullmetaljaco #1: We are not American #2: No matter how horrible USA is/was/may be, it doesn't absolve the Kims of their deeds... This video is not about USA and how awesome it is, this video is about North Korea and how awful dictatorships are. Be coherent please.

  • they come off as spoiled university rich kids coming from a first world country trying to fuck with other counties. am not really a DPRK supporter but just saying....

  • @xtian615 Dictatorships like the "D"PRK very much SHOULD be fucked with, not just by rich spoiled university kids such as ourselves but by everyone such as the UN, NGOs and EVERYONE ELSE. Respecting, bowing and "playing the game" only empowers these assholes. Thank you for watching and sharing your opinion, as is your right, something people in many countries don't get to do.

  • @monkeetime I love my freedom don't get me wrong. My country was under a dictatorship not that long ago and I'm glad we're over that. But I don't think you should go about disrespecting the citizens. After all, they don't seem to have a choice but to "play the game". What you did was like making fun of a rape victim because you are against rape. Thanks for replying though, I never thought you would read the comments here.

  • my god you are annoying mate, nice piece of material you got here except for the narrations. your 'humorous' way of telling is a REALLY REALLY bad choice, this second part is the second and the last video I will watch. seriously, shame on you for destroying such potential.

  • @ShuraaNL Feel free to download the footage, re-edit, narrate, soundtrack, subtitle, and make it better. When done, send me a DVD, we will have a party, There will be cakes, noodle salad, ponies, and a clown. Until then, keep watching. Seriously, don't give up.

  • had to laugh at the carefully edited press none worse as the usa believe me although most of these north koreans now that they are being fed lies they just keep there heads down they have no choice but the people of the usa believe they are being told the truth they should wake up...

  • @TheCatalunya There is propaganda in EVERY country of the world. The difference is, in the USA you don't get sent to a gulag because you were listening to an unauthorized radio station or, god forbid, had an opinion that wasn't the same as Great Leader's. Thank you for watching and commenting.

  • @monkeetime Very True...luckly we have that freedom to make choices.

  • @monkeetime No you don´t get sent to Gulag but you have Guantanamo. If you happen to have a name that unfortunately also is shared by a terrorist, you cannot enter your lovely country. That´s true democracy?

  • @monkeetime Not anymore buddy...the way the US is heading after Patriot Act, the NDAA and Obamas signing of laws that authorize assassination of US citizens, there really isn't much left of difference between NK and USA.

  • @ScopedOUT2 They are pushing that way, but there is still plenty of difference. Right now people can still assemble and protest. If they fuck it up, then maybe in a few years someone will go on a junket tour of the US and make a funny video also. But for now, North Korea provides the lesson about complete, Orwellian totalitarianism.

  • @TheCatalunya I don't think most north koreans know they are being fed lies. I think they believe it.

  • R.I.P. Dear Leader.

    lol

  • You my sir are a GENIUS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BEST comedy/documentary/drama ever made !!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S: I don't think they will let you visit again :P

  • fake and gay response to kim il sung's

    death..

  • даже киборги не устоят перед натиском вот этих зомби.....

  • unfortunatlly thier God died. lool

  • @brd1243 Dear leader has endless numbers of reincarnations. He never dies

  • @Petrionvitunkomea Hey, he is just like the Energizer Bunny, only jim jun 3 was not cute, or smart, or...maybe it would just be faster to list its good points. Well he achieved..., no wait he didn't do that, then maybe..., nope didn't do that either, perhaps..., well he ate a lot.

  • Why are you guys comparing your dick sizes at 5:53?

  • Hey,where were youhiding your camera? didn't anyone check and confiscate it????

  • zombieland

  • "History is very simple, if you only read one book." - So true!

  • Nice doc, a little biased to one side at some times, but good nonetheless

  • Is it wrong that I cracked up and burst out laughing when the news reporter was about to cry at 3:50?

  • @crazyrazza4evar123 [REPLY REMOVED BY DEAR LEADER]

  • @monkeetime Well, the dear leader's dead now, so can I see your reply, or will that get removed by the gestapo guides?

  • @monkeetime all hail our obese leader...who is suffering... for some reason...for us to live here...DAMN I'm hungry.

  • this would be a cool city if north korea wasnt such a fail

  • If it was George Bush Jr. Every one would be celebrating

  • ur commentary is awesome haha i like it

  • NUCKIN FUTS!!! move on the fuckin guys dead!!

  • I wouldn't call people sheeple for being afraid to do much of anything in that lunatic asylum. If I were there I would probably be afraid to do much, considering you're in the equivalent of a mosque run by Al Qaeda. I don't want to be put in a dungeon and have to get Al Gore to rescue me because some insane zealot thought I was looking at the dear leader the wrong way.

  • I heard that when you visit North Korea, there's always a North Korean official keeping an eye on you. Did you guys had one?

  • @kass6 Ya.. We had several. The guides are the officials.

  • This is great. I love this.

  • Hey awesome vids, I agree with most statements, however there is a reason why they are a so called cult.

  • i'll bet kims hittin that pipe every night.... looks like it !!

  • Were the uncalled for shots taken at the US really necessary? As an American, I don't need the constant stream of smug outsiders telling me how horrible my country is even as they show us a country we largely liberated in the 40s waste away to nothing.

  • @saxonjf Yeah, sorry, total apologies about having an opinion and exercising my right to share it... What are you talking about? I pretty much do nothing in this series other than praising the USA and nailing DPRK in the proverbial nutsack, stop being sensitive about nothing and keep watching...

  • @monkeetime You realize, there is a reason why Korean's in the beginning respected him right? He was extremely accomplished in the military. The North Korean propoganda over-exagerates to what extent, but he is known but any 1/2 decent historian to have been a succesful rebel leader. What it grew into is due to communism (happens in every communist state), stalin,(sun of china) mao, (eternal president) kim il sung, (god, dear leader) kim jung il

  • @saxonjf As I recall, in the first episiode he clearly wrote that this was not to be viewed by idiots. I'm American too, please don't give the rest of us a bad name...well, more bad.

  • @madisonrulz again, americans are a fucking failure. Your thinking patterns are really really fucked up. Please try to think in more than 1 line, you're just like north koreans, only a bit richer, nothing else.

  • @ShuraaNL I agree with you, but hey, you know it is impossible to say to an american he/she is wrong and his/her country does something awful. Even tough US did some of the worst things in history it' s all right, isn' t it? When Hitler invades Poland it is conquest, when the US invade Vietnam it is "struggle for freedom", that' s the same story you keep hearing since 1914. They are just as indoctrinated as who they do criticize, and opening an history book is a sufficient way to understand it.

  • @ShuraaNL yeah! that´s it!

  • @saxonjf Buy a history book, it was a proxy war with soviet russia. That wasn't liberation. And the reason the entire country wasn't taken was because Douglas McArthur was a know-it-all and refused to listen to any of his advisors who told him to stop poking china with a big stick. Then Mao began to support Kim and the American forces were forced back to the 38th paralell because of a massive, avoidable military blunder. Did I mention it was a proxy war. The us didnt care about the koreans then.

  • Why did the US not care about korean independence? Growing concern of communism. Russia had made a bad name for itself, and information leaked from china was less than promising. The US entered the conflict as a proxy war with the soviets and supported a democratic president in order to prevent the spread of communism, which was very popular. It probably would of been more succesful if MacArthur listened to his advisors and the US supported a president that KOREANS knew(none of them did).

  • @saxonjf you really need to be less sensitive about your shitty country... can't accept the fact your country is acting as an international bully? Its seems US has a habit of "liberating" nations and doing SHITE job of keeping it that way... NK, Vietnam, South American and African regime changes US implemented... I think those kinds of acts ASK for criticism... I am sorry if your bleeding heart cannot handle it.

  • LMAO, land a small plane! Cold war jokes.

    "I like turtles"

  • 9:42 - 65 years, =P

  • @Kommandant986 Yeah, I know... But in a few years it will be accurate...

  • Anyone who doesn't cry is imprisoned for 3 generations

  • @ the scenes of all the people crying and wailing

I can almost imagine someone yelling "Aaaaaaaand CUT!" after the fade to black. That's how obviously staged and fake it looks.

  • @neosoc Oh, you got that right. Read "Nothing to Envy" - there is a good description of how school kids would compete with each other in crying more, to the point where they would wet their eyes with spit, to look more distraught... That's devotion!

  • r u sure this isnt in the state of utah u were filiming???

  • @1955porsche Hmmm... good point....

  • usa devils, japanese devils, same. kill many million korean people

  • @wblakesx Is ok, Great Leader save everybody. Great Leader very good at saving. Great Leader so good at saving, he open bank.

  • @monkeetime its ok little american:) its ok :) usa good for the world :) no worries :) just a few more wars:) together with muslims cancer of the world :) its ok :)

  • usa sheeple brainwashed

  • Thanks for posting. I went this month. One of our guides was the same Mr Kim seen at 7:58. When the other guide and driver weren't near he asked me about what life is like in America. He also said he's a big fan of UFC fighting and Gina Carano (which I more than understood). I asked how he knew of UFC and he whispered, "It's my secret". He never made us bow at the Martyrs Cemetery, and he also said nothing when I cracked up at Kumsusan when you listen to that radio about Kim Il-Sung's death.

  • @zorak1997 Sounds surreal!

  • @CosmicOzric Totally! After being there for a few days, being cut off from the rest of the world, and seeing the cult of personality to the Kims, I was walking around seriously thinking, "Is this real or is it an illusion?". hahaha! While there's little traffic in Pyongyang, 80% of the cars you see are Mercedes or BMW. Someone is doing alright over there! It's nuts and I'm glad I saw it, but I feel guilty/pissed that the money I spent went to those people in the BMWs.

  • @zorak1997 Did you go to the "International Friendship Exhibition Hall"? I hear some of the things the Kim's have accumulated over the years are just ridiculous.

  • @SouthernMilitaryGuru We only have five days, so when our China-based tour operator (a UK citizen) set up our itinerary he prioritized what he thought we should see and he left off the International Friendship museum. I asked about it and he said some of the old gifts that Kim Il-Sung got back when the Soviet bloc existed were kind of cool, but the stuff Kim Jong-Il has is laughably bad - like when Madeleine Albright gave him a basketball signed by Michael Jordan.

  • It was the russians who drove Japan out of northern Korea. The americans were primarily engaged in the Pacific.

  • @askjiir Not exactly. The Russians only declared war on the Japanese on August 9, 1945, after the Americans dropped the A-bomb on Hiroshima on August 6, 1945, and the Japanese were on the verge of surrendering. Prior to that, the Russians actually had a non-aggression pact with the Japs. By joining the war this late in the game, the Russians got to take over Japanese military assets in North-East China (Manchuria) which they turned over to the Chinese Communists.

  • @dashanghaidude

In the literal sense of going in somewhere and drive someone out, the russians did just that when they invaded Northern Korea.

  • Not 75 years since the Japanese were chased out. You mean 65 years.

  • A small Gook with a tiny penis, Let your people starve and eat baby's, Fear not for the US/SK Savior's will liberate you soon !

  • @dmttsn Whoa, take it easy there, man...

  • @dmttsn What the fuck, man?

  • Thanks monkeetime for posting this. Morbidly fascinating footage, especially of the people mourning for Kim Il Sung. Wow, that alone shows you how fucked up that country is.

  • Jesus is near...JEsus and yahweh are one...Yahweh(jehova) the father and jesus(yeshua) the son are same..they are both God...you need to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and savior..for you to enter the kingdom of heaven...

  • @ericsantiago011 You need to accept Kim Il Sung as YOUR lord and savior.

  • @monkeetime hahaha... that is the thing that i will never and ever do that.. only Jesus can save me,,, xD

  • thannks so much you are a dude, you remind me of myself , if I was to travel north korea.

  • we are gunna get SHOT!

  • Fantastic. This should be put on television.

  • Also, 11 meters taller!

  • wow, the streets look so clean and well organized, lots of trees and nature there, and even at night they save electricity ! lol sounds perfect to me!

though its weird that there are hardly any people walking in the streets , its so empty

  • wrong Japan has appologised up to 30 times to south korea, China, australia afor its war actions the north doesnt want an appology prefering to have its people be brainwashed.

  • devoted lumix fans

  • These are amazing. Just make me want to go to NK more. Thanks for uploading.

  • @traumas :-)

  • dude, kudos where it's due. nice work

  • you need more publicity

  • @SkinnyMann66 Tell your friends!

  • @monkeetime What if i haven't got any friends :(

  • nice work with the videos

  • 8==o ~

  • @burri123 exactly!

  • 2:34 "President" Kim Il Sung

  • @902107910: Ehm yes? Kim Il Sung is the North Korean president, what is it that you don't understand? Fucking moron.

  • @Whopzer Haha relax, yeah that is his title, but it's hardly true when the people don't get a choice bit to have him as president

  • love the way you have woven some old and historic material in it! kinda like histotainment :D

  • It´s only through travel and watching documentaries such as this that I´ve come to realize how fortunate I was to have been born in a place that is NOT as mad as a hatter.

  • One day, I`ll go over there!

  • Is there any significance to the date's under the statues heads? I love the line that was used . . ."History is very simple if you only read one book". Very true in North Korea's way of thinking.

  • It has to be very terrifying to have a holyday like this but also interesting.......... I wonder if I would go there
