Well yeah that's true but since they are African American I guess that just adds to our diversity of our accents, so they do sound African American. They're just Gullah Afro-Americans.
Great film. Made me feel nostalgic for the old family way of life...depressed, inspired, hopeful, proud to be a human being.

their accent is not afro american at all. They sound simmilar to caribbean accents.
