  • @MrWillstro THE UNION JACK FLAG HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH BEING BRITISH YOU DUMB WORTHLESS RETARDED PIECE OF SHIT! BEING BRITISH IS A GEOGRAPHICAL POSITION RATHER THAN A POLITICAL TERM! YOU FUCKING SCUM I WAS PRETTY CLEAR ON MY FIRST POST! AND JUST SO BY THE WAY THE UK FLAG IS BEING WAVED ALL OVER SCOTLAND WALES AND NORTHERN IRELAND ! PEOPLE IN NORTHERN IRELAND AND NORTHERN IRELAND IS A COUNTRY! THEY BELONG TO THE UNITED KINGDOM HOWEVER THEY ARE GEOGRAPHICALLY IRISH! YOU FUCKING SCUM LOSER!

  • ur also earthling

  • YOU ARE BRITISH BECAUSE REGARDLESS OF THE COUNTRY YOU WERE BORNT AND RAISED ON AN ISLAND GEOGRAPHICALLY THE (GREAT BRITAIN) WHICH ALSO IN FIRST PLACE ON TOP OF THAT BELONGS TO THE EUROPEAN CONTINENT! SO YOU ARE EUROPEAN - BRITISH - AND THEN BY POLITICAL MEANS: ENGLISH !!! // YOU IGNORANT SCUM

  • @audacious2win scotish, irish and wales call dont call thetm selves british and they wave their own flags, in england people say british and wave the union jack which is bs

  • @audacious2win i think you wil find what you said to be complete bollocks lol

  • HAhahahahahahahahhahahahahhahhaa

  • exactly the same mate, im 100% english, i dont go around saying im from europe just because we are all in the same area it doeset make us british.

  • You are both English and British even though you were born in England because England shares the island of Great Britain with Scotland and Wales,so you are also British.

  • @sharky1105 No, Britain just covers Scotland, Wales and England, Northern Ireland is part of the United Kingdom :) Sorry about that any way, just me being nitpicky

  • fine then american people, your canadian :)

  • Completely agree on this! If we are all 'British' how come the Census form has changed it's options for nationality because so many people complained. Do we call the Germans, French, Dutch, Italians, etc "European" or "Continental" course not! So don't call us British please!

  • I think it depends on what your talking about. If your talking about people in all of britain, then I say british, but if im talking about england, then I say english. I cant stand when people call people just from england british.

  • Well really, you could then call yourself roman aswell, since the romans did invade England, and probably 'breeded' there.

So really your not 100% english. Then theres the Vikings, which you could then call yourself norwegian.

  • I totally agree with you. I am English, not British!

  • england is in britain!! u are english but you are also british because england is IN the british isles

  • @myworld1112 the terms britain and british can go fuck them selves. i am english

  • @sharky1105

Too right, mate! Too bloody right!

I hate this bollocks where we're not allowed to hang the St. George's Cross for being "racist". The Irish are allowed St. Patrick, the Scottish St. Andrew, the Welsh St. David, so WHY should we have to be the emmisary for the whole island?

Honestly, the sooner Scotland gets independence, the sooner this union can end and we can be ENGLISH again.

    They're Celts, we're Anglos.

  • no one else gets it... I'm am English and Japanese, raised in England, and occasionally visits japan... but I'm English...

def NOT British.... but i have given up trying to explain at this point... :,(

  • British means fuck all these days!

Especially with all them 'asylum seekers' !

These fuckers have hijacked the word like there's no tomorrow !

Moreover, the main use of the word British these days is for tryna state how 'even more English' than English you are which is nonsensical pompous shit that only some English people choose to take part in !

Because, put quite simply, do you often come across Scots or Welsh people who're dying to introduce themselves as being British ?

    No !

  • God this getting out of hand nobody 's got glue who they are or where there from, damn I wish I could help, your really mixed up over there, what about a team building session and group hug and game of softball, maybe the guys in office here in DC could swing you some green cards.

  • Your a British citizen and an English national like the scots are British and also scottish nationals

  • WHEN IM PRIME MINISTER!!! IM GOING TO MAKE ENGLAND ENGLISH, SCOTLAND SCOTTISH, WHALES WELSH AND NORTHERN IRELAND NORTHERN IRISH, I AM WITH YOU ALL THE WAY, MAN I FIND IT WELL ANNOYING WHEN WHEN PEOPLE REFER TO THE UK THEY ACTUALLY JUST MEAN ENGLAND!!!! "Vid liked"

    AND IM NOT TROLLING!!!

  • @TheSchemer1 It's "Wales" not "Whales".

  • @Calengela Whatever dude wales then

  • This person is both english and British. So sad so many people dont understand. If he was born in the part of the UK that is England then he must be English. If a person was born in the part of the UK that is Welsh Scots or N.Irish they are them as well, but at the end of the day (unless any of them wish to leave the Uk,then they have a British passport (the most highly sought after piece of paper in the world)

  • British cunt!

  • Comment removed

  • british refers to location. english refers to nationality. you are 100% british and 100% english and 100% european.

i'm not 1/50 american because i live in kansas. i'm 100% kansan and 100% american.

  • Well English is a real nationality you retard have you got mental problems?

  • @tacticskillz i know english is a nationality why else do you think i said i'm english not british

  • You're British whether you like it or not!! English isn't even a real nationality/citizenship. Same applies to all the other countries in the UK!!

  • am also english not british

  • Britains a fucking bourgeoisie lie. You can not be british without licking the Elizebeth Windsors arse. Just to add Ulster loyalists are plastic brits(they lick the Elizebeth Windsors arse yet are from Ireland not Scotland, Wales or England)

  • good for you

  • @17sundays i am from england so there for i am english not british

  • @sharky1105 I'm English too I would never say I'm British it's England I'm fed up of the soapy Scottish Irish and Welsh cunts slagging off England and no one doing a thing about it, were being too soft with them, All the English are going owwww I can't defend England's pride from that Scottish bloke because I've got a bit of Scottish in me....... FUCK OFF don't worry about that they don't and they've probably got loads of English ancestry, WHERES THE PRIDE GONE next 'celt' that slags of England

  • @mastercheff1216 That's a shame you think that. Please be advised there are many of us soapy Scots c*nts who do actually quite like England and the people that reside there.

And I am one, even though I support a fully independent Scotland.

Happy New Year and Slàinte gu soírraidh to you and everyone in England. (The last bit means Good health, forever in Scottish Gaelic).

  • @globaltraveller I hope I don't make it look like I said all scots are but I also agree for a breakdown of the union too, English democrats for me.

  • @globaltraveller Well I'm English and Scotland is one of my favourite countries - there are bound to be both English and Scots that claim to dislike the other but that's just regurgitating history.

  • @sharky1105 Is going to get a fucking history lesson from me, stay strong and be a proud Englishmen mate!

  • @sharky1105 you like me live in england whitch is a part of the United Kingdom of Great Britain

  • @17sundays No you're not, you're from the United States of America. By your logic, our nationality is defined by our continent, so Germans shouldn't be called Germans, they should be called Europeans.

  • @JanineRobin I could live with that. ...but then mexicanswould be considered Americans...eww.

  • @17sundays Well Great Britain is 3 countries, So we are either English, Scottish or Welsh

  • @17sundays

This seems to be a lumper vs. splitter argument with people arguing according to what they think is the most important designation first. It also seems to be a way of emphatically saying what a person is not--“I’m a Scott not a (those other people) god damn Brit.” You are right though if they live in Britain they are British even if they are also English Scottish or Welsh.

  • You sir are 100% Janner, you live so close to Cornwall you might as well be a Cornishman, you are not English, that is insulting to my fellow English peoples.

  • @sdtuu yeah i'm a janner big deal. and no plymouth will never be in cornwall. being cornish or janner isn't a nationality. my nationality is english

  • If you're an example of the average Englishman you can get to fuck you cunt. And the drugs you're on are cheap shit,,,,, yer cunt.

  • Ireland is not part of Britain so Irish people are not even remotely 'British'

  • @1Fianna What about Northern Ireland? : /

  • @liverpoolfc998 its not even part of britain, its on a separate island.

  • Actually, acording to your argument, you would need to be 1/3 Scotish, 1/3 Welsh, and 1/3 English. Ireland is not on the island of Britain. Sassenach!

  • Good for you.

I'm Scotttish and proud and I always will refer to myself being Scottish.

  • I'm australian :D

  • Im British 1/4 Scotthish 3/4 English

  • @iheartuglybetty well, It may happen from a child of parents English and Welsh + a child of parents Scottish and Irish = baby British... =] with love anything can happen.

  • I'm proud to be English and very soon we will free from the dumb union.

    England Forever!

  • England Forever!

  • It's also as a result of devolution. Since then, Scots and Welsh have become much more patriotic and it seems to have followed suit that the English have done the same. There are two things : The Barnett Formula and The West Lothian Question that have fed to this. The English people are waking up to the fact that being British isn't exactly great, but a self-governing English state may be the answer.

  • Fair comments. Something to consider is that it appears only English people subscribe to the 'British' doctrine. When you consider what is 'British', largely, these traits are English. Given, that there are some moves to teach Britishness - only to English students - rejected from Wales, Scotland and NI - and lets not forget that the GB Football olympic team will only consist of - England. England alone has largely given it's own identity up to being British....

  • @hernhillrebel OK - by the same token, why deny that people can be English and English only? British is just an umbrella term applied some 300 years ago, non-specific. In use of the term British, one assumes that I'm happy to be in a union with three other countries, when it is an act of defiance against the union that I choose not to refer to myself as British. I do not believe in the union. Calling someone British also, does not really tell me where they're from.

  • The UK has only existed since 1801. What's your point? England as a separate state existed for nearly 1000 years before that. And saying it was around before Australia and NZ is like saying the Xbox was around before the Xbox360....

  • well my mum is from a place near germany but i was born in england my dad is 100% english hes related too charles darwin and lord horatio nelson

  • english not british

  • who care about you wether you're english or british??

  • what a pussy two world wars you are brittish english scottish welsh northen irish no surrender

  • no i think you'll find that i'm not scottish, not welsh and not irish. i'm 100% english

  • Totally get your point of view, although I think I'd always refer to myself as British or Irish over English.

Your description isn't quite true however; Northern Ireland isn't part of Britain, hence the name 'The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland' (it, and the ROI are however part of the British Isles, but that's a geographical term).

So you'd want to be thirds Welsh, Scottish and English.

  • Hmm ive never heard an englishman say hes not brittish, only scottish ... for obvious reasons

  • well now you have

  • hmm . what makes you english .. what you do different to be named english scotish welish n.ireland etc nothing but were you are born. or in some respects were you have lived for long time

what im trying to say is what is the big difference in english to the rest of uk we all do the same things day in day out

  • that's exactly what i think

  • Respect to you, you English mate!

  • ur a tit man do you no your history ??

im british ? ur british ? u live on british soil ? u live in the united kingdom of great briton ... do you know how union jack was formed ? if someone says thier european they could live in france ,denmark belgem spain italy etc , man you are makein a tit if yourself i sajest some history education and a hair cut

  • i dunno if you were listening properly but he did say that he knows he technically he is bristish but he did also say he sees him self as english not british. i hope you know that it's not a crime for someone to say "i'm english, not british" and that this guy isn't the only person in the word who thinks and says that they're english, not british. so as well as insulting this guy by calling him a tit you're also insulting everyone else who calls them selves english, not british.

  • Do you not know your history? England, Scotland and Wales PRECEDED the UK, it was a simple political union and an enforced identity. I live on ENGLISH soil that is under a British flag. If it's all British, Britain - why do the consitituent countries still exist?

What makes me English? I was born in England, I was raised in England, I have an English accent, I don't eat haggis, play bagpipes or speak Welsh or Gaelic.

You skipped English grammar I take it.

  • i'm from plymouth and don't sound like that you sound like a farmer lol i may come out with a bit of jannerisoms but my god that was all janner and christian i agree

  • lol never been told i sound like a farmer before even though we live in the same city, and this christian person what part of what he or she said do you agree with?

  • i'll have you know that reggaepeggae isn't me. the account that i uploaded this video on is my only account and if you have a problem with this reggaepeggae person uploading pointless videos then take it up with him or her instead of me

  • wow, what an insult. you called someone a prat. bet you feel so good about you self that you came out with such an insult, best not get you mad

  • yea im english to but id like to point out that cant and wont be classed as an english accent , cuz its fucking horrible ...bristol ? im not sure

  • i do have an english accent but i'm not from bristol, i'm from plymouth

  • damn i should have known that im from tavistock , doesnt sound janner lol

  • you better believe it, i'm 100% janner XD

  • I think it is excellent that you call yourself by what you feel you are. Another point to strenghen what you say is that the "Britons" (celts), While they are located in what is now England, actually left to the shores of present day Brittany. Technically the The Scottish and Welsh are not "British" at all, and the Bitons. who remained in "Britannia", the Roman name for England, have assimilated to Anglo-Saxon society. The Iranians still call themselves Persian, but they speak still Persion.

  • you make a good point, but do you have to say it in such a frightening way?

  • your english, your born in... whatever town your from, and england is in britain, your european, your part of the human race (i think). hehe im Scottish but if your trying to get a bank account, "white british" not "white english" the man has told us what we are.

in fact, why are we "English" its an imaginary place! its an island, because we are on that island doesnt make us of that descent lol.

  • And since Britain (Britannia) is what the Romans Named the place after one Celtic tribe and not Anglia (meaning England), or Saxonia(Saxony/Saxonland) which went into making the names of the regions after romans left and the Angles and Saxons arrived. I don't really think it is bad thing. the only discrepency is that the Briton. The whole thing is silly Anyway, one should only call myself "English" if I were descended from the Angles And "Saxish".. like the saxons mainland Europe still do

  • never thought about that *scratches head* but your actually right ^^

  • Comment removed

  • well thats the same idea as I am Canadian not North American, so that makes complete sence to me!

  • well it's like i said in the video i was born in England and raised in England and nowhere else so i'm English. so why should i call my self British or European when i have nothing to do with the other countries in both Britain and Europe. i'm on another social networking site where i've joined a group roughly titled the same as this video and i said i'm English not British and i did get a bit of stick for it

  • it's like in my view the same with the US state Alaska. it was owned by Russia so if you lived there you were Russian but the America bought Alaska off Russia so it then became par of the US so the people who live there are American and you don't see Alaskans calling themselves Russian

  • really I didnt even know that, thats cool. Yeah exactly

  • yeah i didn't know that either till not that long ago

  • I think I need to learn some more LOL

  • lol well you know how it is, there's always time to learn new things

  • hahaha I dunno I'm getting pretty old LOL

  • lol well you can't be much older then me

  • i'm 26, it feels really damn old to me LOL

  • well i'm nearly 23 so not that much older then me

  • lol well I have a 6 year old, so i feel very old lol

  • i'm 13 years older then my niece so i'm technically old enough to be her dad and that makes me feel kinda old

  • lol yeah but the only reason there's 13 years between us is cos there's 12 years between me and my older brother

  • yeah when i had my son my youngest bro was only 12 so him and my son are really close from that, but thats cause i'm 7 year older then my bro

  • that's pretty much the same difference between my, my youngest sister and out niece. there's 6 years between my and my youngest sister ans she was only 7 at the time of the niece coming along

  • yeah my other brother is 5 years younger, I find the huge age gaps can be a little confusing for sure, i mean my brothers were still in public school when I was going through my "teen angst " stage, but at least that way they could see what they didn't want to do, so it worked that way

  • yeah XD there's roughly the same age difference between me and my 3 sisters so at least 2 of us would of been in the same school at the same time but like i said our brother is a few years older then us 4 so he had finished school was before the rest of us did

  • yeah I know what that is like :-P

  • but the thing is when i tell people the age of my brother and then the ages of my parents they're like "wow, your mum had ya brother young" but then i have to tell the story of how it all came about

  • yeah mine too my mom is only 43 she was 17 when i was born so I totaly get that

  • well that's the thing my mum was 11 when my brother was born so when people find that out they thing my mum got pregnant with him at that age so i have to explain my brother his my half brother

  • yeah exactly my brothers are my half brothers too

  • I'm skandish!

  • skandish?

  • Scandinavian. But mostly Swedish.

  • didn't know scandinavian was also known as skandish

  • No.. It's not.. hehe

  • well that's something new i've learned then XD

  • ohh i didnt know that sorry if that offended you of anyway xD

  • no it didn't offend me

  • but how do u have a brittish accent if u from egland ??? do u have parents from brittish but u were born in egland?????

  • my parents are English to but Britain is made up of four countries. England, Scotland, northern Ireland and Wales. if you want to find out anything else about it you may as well google Great Britain

  • I didn't realize that thats really cool

  • well that's the thing you could say British accent but the English, Scottish, Welsh and Irish accents are different from each other. but i'm from England so i have an English accent

  • Comment removed

  • Thank you so much for this video, Mr. Sharky. I really appreciate the response, and I enjoyed hearing your explanation. You are absolutely correct, there is no crime in calling yourself English. In fact, you should be quite proud of your heritage. Good for you!!

I also like how you acknowledge that technically you are both British and European. I really appreciated that. On some level, though, we are all the same no matter where we come from. I think it is good to move forward from here.

  • im british !
