Going over to the east to drink cheap beer and having the ddr secret police trying to recruit you. The youth of today have no notation of real history that this lady,Tamara came from.

If you just listen to it and dont look at the video, it's actually a very good vocal, more emotional than the Carnes original, and I think her accent is sexy and cool and fits it nicely. It's rather touching if you put the right mental image with it as you listen. This is simply one of the greatest songs of all time, period.

You people who are being so knee-jerk critical of it probably cant even sing in the shower properly. I can imagine what your Karaoke versions of it would sound like.
