DHINA GENA TAK DHINA GENA DHADA GENA.........A FAMOUS RAU/RELA........NOW THATS CALLED PACKAGING AND ENCASHING IT.......HEHEHEHEHEHHE.........CERTAIN COMPS HAVE THEIR COMMERCIAL VALUE NOW
If we paid more attention to what the Indians are doing percussively we wouldn't have such banal and insipid crap in our music like we do today. Here is America it's all based on the same stupid rhythms over and over with no variation at all.
@flammaster come on. There is a lot of great music in America! There is much more variety of music than TV offers you on daily basis. What about jazz? There is so much great music happening on the US jazz scene right now! But you have to look for it - most of the pop music media feed you with is indeed a crap.
I agree with that sentiment, but really after six weeks in India and hearing mostly classical music I was really relieved to hear "Here Comes the Sun" by the Beatles near the end of my visit.
Trilok Gurtu is a true innovator, rare in percussion, and without doubt a pure genius when it comes to all-round percussion AND accompaniment. Some of his work leave me speechless.

All rythm is hypnotic. Its just that the tabla was played by the Gods so there fore it has been inspired by the ultimate trancendance.
