  • Thanks for showing the crashes; that's been a real concern when I was comparing $20-$30 heli's. I broke my friend's S107 after maybe 28 seconds and flew it into a desk. It was only the third flight that bird was in. R.I.P. little buddy. Needless to say, I'm replacing it for him but wanted something more durable.

  • @BruiserPig Mine died eventually - my three year old was flying it. Uncountable crashes into walls, ceilings, furniture, house plants, pets, etc. That heli didn't owe me anything.

  • can you fly this outside?

  • @TheCmediaproductions Sometimes. The helicopter is controlled with infrared - the sun interferes with that signal so it would have to be cloudy.

  • I wish mine would fly like that. It just keeps spinning and swinging back and fourth like its on a piece of string. Have gone through about 20 charges trying to fix it with trim and what not but not getting anywhere. I have flown rc before so its not like im a 'noob' or anything and its not had a crash or knock so dont know what else to do. Its been gathering dust for the past 6 months, if anyone wants it, ten quid and its yours, lol :(

  • @promenoshi Sounds like you got a lemon!

  • @promenoshi And you cant fix it with trims? Then you should return and get another one from the shop u bought it. Or you can open and do what u have to do inside to stop it spinning ;D

  • @promenoshi make sure the linkages for the gyro bar are all connected tightly. should be four all together

  • ciao io ho un elicottero cosi pero e più grande quindi dovresti migliorare gli atteraggi

  • cheers for te review. does this have a gyro and if not is it still easy to fly

  • @Alexdermietzel Mine doesn't seem to have a gyro, but I have flown later versions which seem to have one installed.

  • Hi All,

I got this heli before 2 weeks. Its worked fine. But its not taking off. How to fix this

  • @SuperSamshot I could be a lot of things - for a relatively new one the battery should still be fine. Check to see if anything is caught up in the rotor system causing it to slow down.

  • Best micro heli EVER

  • @gtawesom3 It's right up there! Flies great, tough and fun!

  • on amazon its onley 3.50$!!!

  • @ninjapicklez69 Nice!

  • Hi briguy! I recently saw this helicopter in a store and got interested, so I went to youtube and came by your video. I have never flown anything before! Is this a good heli for a 100% green pilot? And what is that thing you adjust before you fly? Is that hard to do? Best regards Tillerknavs

  • @Tillerknavs This is a great helicopter for a beginner. It is very stable and easy to fly. Have fun!

  • I dare you to remove the body and fly it(rubber band the landing gear together).

You will be amazed at twice the speed/lift and runtime(~12-14min). I wasn't to impressed with mine with the body but without its better than my syma s107.

  • @xxturbowesxx That's a great idea! I may just do that. It might be enough weight removed to add a camera. Hmmm....

  • @xxturbowesxx being better than the S107 is not a big deal... :) but thats true that without the canopy it will be more agile!

  • I bought one exactly like that... at first it was all plane sailing and it was too easy and too good to last. after 2 weeks it started to cut as if I was holding the rotors... I even changed the lipoly and it still doesn't fly right... I have reason to believe the circuitry is a bit too sensitive and a bit factory screwed too...

  • @kylemontanaro Too bad - I hope you can get it sorted out.

  • @briguy99 Thanks mate... I guess that's what you expect when you buy something that says "Made in China"... have you got one of them yet?

  • @briguy99 Hey man: Could you hope it rained money on me?? I just managed to fix the 10-12 month problem! Turns out, the helicopter has an in built safety system which turns it off when someone or something's holding the rotors right? It works by measuring the current flowing through. Turns out a faulty motor was doing that. I realised one of the motors was getting very hot immediately so I decided to try replacing that with another micromotor I had from previous vehicles--- my Chinook is flying!

  • @kylemontanaro Sweet! Sometimes you think a little model like this is disposable, but I think this is really quite serviceable. I know you can (or used to be able to) buy parts online, no reason you can't repair those parts that are repairable!

  • @briguy99 I never thought they are disposable...that's why I had so many spare micromotors :D This time the worst part was identifying the source. I was blaming both the battery and the receiver and in fact I did buy a new upgraded battery. It was only when I kept testing it, did I notice that the motor was becoming extremely hot. Anyway, now the problem's over... If you have one, just make sure the motors have adequate ventilation and no excess friction since the motors are easily overloaded

  • @TheIpodGuitar does it need batteries or can you choose between bateris and mains charging

  • @DSM331 The helicopter has a built-in lipo battery, the transmitter needs AA's.

  • I got this 20 minutes ago. Its pretty small and light weighted.

It needs 6 (AA?) batteries and if you miss one or one is empty you cant control it well.

Flying is really fun, but i advise you to fly outside until you are skilled enough.

Hard to control in the beginning but really fun to fly. Max flight length is just 10 minutes..

  • @TheIpodGuitar Glad you like it! Be careful flying outside, it won't fly well in the sun (it interferes with the IR controller).

  • I beleive theres no GYRO built in, is it pretty stable? I have a bad experience with S027 Airwolf it keep on spinning wasted all the battery just for trimming it. butmaybe it will be a different story with 4 rotors working like this Chinook maybe GYRO is not needed in this type of Heli?

  • @ironmansuperman If there is a gyro, it has limited effectiveness. You do have to trim, and as the battery goes down the trim will change, but it doesn't take a lot of time.

  • 3. (continued) Also, if you don’t decrease throttle fast enough, the turbulence may still carry the aircraft forward, even with the directional stick pulled back. And obviously, decreasing throttle too quickly will result in the aircraft slamming down to the surface. This takes practice.

    4. About a split second before touch-down, slightly (very slightly!) increase throttle for a smooth landing. If you don’t do this, the copter will slam downward each time. Practice practice practice!

  • 3. Upon your vertical descent, gradually (but not too slow either!) decrease throttle and pull back on the directional joystick. If you try to land without pulling back on the directional stick, within about a foot, the copter will encounter turbulence (from the strong, bounce-back updrafts) which will shoot the aircraft forward, resulting in missing your target landing.

  • Landing

    1. Within about a foot or so (horizontal distance) from your landing area, slowly decrease the directional stick and throttle (assuming that the directional stick is fully pushed forward) to a point where the copter is at a controllable speed.

    2. Always try landing vertically. There should be at least one foot vertical distance between the aircraft and landing area. Anything closer than a foot may result in too much turbulence.

  • Syma S-026 CH-47 Chinook take-off and landing tips:

    Take off

    1. Slowly increase throttle then steadily increase more for smooth, straight-line take off. Sudden and full-throttle may result in too much yaw (horizontal torque) and may also result in the aircraft slamming into the ceiling (if, of course, you’re in an enclosed room).

  • this is the best mini-copter i've owned so far. i have two of them and just purchased the larger s022 chinook. the hardest thing is learning how to do a very precise, smooth landing.

when you guys land, be sure to approach your landing area while setting the joystick in reverse and slowly decreasing throttle. if you decrease throttle only (without pulling back on joystick), the chopper will encounter too much turbulence (due to being so close to the landing platform) and will shoot forward.

  • @ruel1072 Nice tip! Thanks for sharing.

  • how much weight can it additionally carry?

  • @Heizoel Not much. I tried to get it to carry a keychain cam, not even close!

  • Well I'm glad these work for someone. I honestly had more fun taking a sledge hammer to mine. It was an utter piece of trash not worth the space it took up. I'm sticking with E-flite.

  • I had more fun taking a sledge hammer to this utter hunk of trash. Stick with E-flite

  • Hi i just bough one of these and I can hover it, and I can rotate it, but I can't change the pitch that is I can't go forward and back any advice?

  • just got one of these for 25 qwid on the market it brilliant value and well made

  • ive got one and the only dowside i find is the amount of flight time you get just isnt long enough

  • Hey i just got one of these, it says in the manual that an LED will come on when you plug in the charger but on mine it does not, it does appear to be charging though.

Only problem is because of that im unsure how long it needs to charge, how long do you charge yours for?

    Cheers Elroy

  • @ElroyHarvey I also just noticed the charger it came with is 6v output? That can't be right, maybe it has the wrong charger, could someone please check theres thnx Elroy

  • A half hour is plenty.

  • does urs have two things at the top of the propeller mine only has one at the front and 1 at the back

  • Im not sure why, but I think they have the LED reversed, I had the same issue, but just tried to charge it anyway, after half an hour of charge the red LED came on, and I realized it had finished charging. Either that or the instructions are just badly translated.

  • Hi, got one of these for christmas great fun, i have now noticed the trim went way out on forward and it would just shoot off, i followed someones note to hold both trim buttons to reset the trim which worked apart from a slight backwards lean, i then obviously tried do the back trim and have again a need to reset but it doesnt seem to want it, any suggestions??? also when resetting trim dothe rotors need to be moving witha lil throttle? or can i reset trim when copter stationary?? thanks

  • I didn't know the trick about resetting the trims - thanks! Mine tends to be trimmed a bit tail-heavy to start, I will hit about 5-10 clicks of forward every time I start flying, otherwise it's much too slow.

  • hey i just brought this and i been crashing alot but my rotors are plastic and they seems to be rough and broken a bit is that fine??but it still flys great and where do u get replacements?

  • The leading edges of my blades are pretty rough now and it still flies fine. If blades are cracked or causing a lot of vibration you should probably replace them. I've seen parts available but I can't recall where. Google will be your friend in your search ;)

  • @briguy99 oh ok thanks

  • I have a question to ask, are you meant to tighten to screws on the propeller blades or are you meant to leave them louse cuz in ur video I saw that they where lose can u help me?

  • Good question. You need to leave them loose, it allows the blades to hunt and lag, reducing vibrations. Equally important the blades will balance themselves out better as well.

  • This is the best mini helikopter!!! :)

  • It's a lot of fun, that's for sure! Easy to fly, tough to master.

  • I was wondering would be possible to upgrade the battery for it to make it last longer at all?

  • You could, it takes a single cell lipo battery which can be replaced with a bigger one. The problem is that it will add weight to the helicopter, which will increase the current draw. This may actually reduce the flying time, and for sure will add wear and tear to the rest of the helicopter.

  • So no is the short answer then.

  • You can change it, but expect things to change ;)

  • i just bought one chinook, but my rotor blade was plastic. it comes from china.

  • Yeah, looks like some of the earlier ones had a one-piece plastic rotor. They all come from China ;)

  • Hi great vid, I recieved mine after a strenuous 4 weeks of waiting because it came from hong kong.

I charged it up when I first got it, it flew perfectly but then I charged it again and after that second charge the blades rotated but then stopped after around 3 seconds. So I tryed charging it again and it still does it. The thing I noticed was that when I was using the throttle the underside of the chinook was flashing yellow (not the LED). Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated. :o)

  • when you charge it make sure the heli is OFF.

when the plug turns green, it is finished charging.

  • Maybe it doesnt work cause its a knockoff or fake from hong kong.

  • Thanks for your reply!

  • (Which side is the forward trim on and which side is teh backwards trim on? Left or right?

  • You know the trim for the forward and backwards, which trim is for the forward and backwards?. I know how to trim the left and right. Does it come with the manual?

  • The button on the right hand side is for forward trim, the left button for backwards.

  • hello sir i just got this for my birthday, its my first rc helicopter so im still trying to get the hang of it but i like how it can withstand crashes!! cool video

  • Happy Birthday! Have fun with it.

  • Awesome! I love playing with mine! (i got it today)

  • Yeah, it's a lot of fun and you can fly it almost anywhere! I still fly mine often.

  • Hello, i just got one of these today on my birthday and cant get off it, barrel of fun! However i have a few troubles with it..

The main thing is it keeps turning clockwise or counterclockwise while flying and no matter how slowly and perfectly i try to adjust to trim nob thingy, i can never get it perfect.

Any advice would be appreciated =)

  • You have to keep adjusting the yaw trim. As the battery wears down, the rotors change speed and the trim changes. Just give it a little twist every minute or so.

  • Nice job, look's like lots of fun!

  • It's no protos, but it'll fly in the living room!

  • That is sweet!

  • Yeah, it's a lot of fun. We had it up with the Blade MCX yesterday which was a blast - lots of midairs, blowing your buddy into the ground, etc.

  • Nice little heli, EXCELLENT video too!!

  • Thanks, I took your advice!
