Thank you for the vote of confidence! Overall I was really impressed with all of the detail pieces, but I definitely learned a lot from it. It's a great kit, just get some tweezers prior to attempting it!
But just think - for the price of these and a little time, you can get twice as many cars as a Ready to Roll unit! I used to hate this stuff when I was younger, but now I enjoy the challenge....
As intricate as all the little washers and seals which go into the average automatic transmission! The scale and accuracy I have seen in some train sets is beyond amazing. +
Good point! I think taking apart an auto tranny is about the only left on a vehicle that I haven't done yet. I probably would, but I just don't have the project to try it out on yet. Maybe someday soon!
It's really not that bad, just have to take your time and keep things organized and most of all just take your time - this whole kit took about two hours with some breaks in between to complete.
I think you should have started with an easier kit like a athearn BB or what I started out with a walthers gold kit. Still that looks like it will be a cool car when it's finished. That grain elevator in my vids, I got that from a hobby shop the guy there said you DO NOT want to fuse the parts, you want then to be held in place by the cement. So he sold me some testors brand of plastic cement .
Yeah, I am definitely learning as I go and learned a LOT building this one - I definitely know what tools I need for next time! Great experience for only $11!!
Oh yeah, a good ready to roll with this much detail would be $25~$30 and this was $13 and got a 20% discount off of that price, so it was way worth it, plus it would make weathering WAY easier prior to assembly. If you don't have time to build these, I say get the RTR, but I think after you do a few of these, your cars will look better than the RTR units.
where did you buy this ive been lookin all over and havent been able to find anything

More power to you man, that kit is known to be hard even for experts. I don't have the eyes for it.

And differentials, despite looking clumsy and awkward, also need a lot of patience to set up! Get the movie I made?
