Re: not using pedal in JS Bach's music. The harpsichords and piano are different instruments. Playing piano with a sense of legato will spare the overuse of the sustain pedal; but not using it at all would be just silly, and make music choppy. There is no historical correctness AT ALL to playing Bachs on piano. There were no pianos in Bach's time, but if there were, he'd likely have used the pedal. You would be historically correct in not using the sustain pedal on a harpsichord. LOL
Absolutely a delight to listen to. I am a beginner piano player and I managed to get the first three bars of this piece. I will learn it though, over time.
I`d like to hear you playing the fugue who it is supposed to be played, which is without pedal. Im playing it right now and its a way more difficult to play the legato without using the pedal. Bach himself wanst able to use one :)
If you play Bach on the piano, I guess you must to use all the resourses of this one, in music there isn´t ABSOLUTES, thanks and good luck, it´s a dificult piece...
For the prelude, its a little "overdone", but it really showed his talent. Though some dynamics were not very well played. As for the fugue, its very well played, it was smoothly connected as stated on the music. Though some dynamics were ignored. Well done! =]
Sounded a bit of a blur in the prelude but it could be something to do with how it was recorded. The fugue was better. Book 2 is all together more abstract than book 1 but this pair I feel wouldn't be too out of place from the others in book 1. The c minor prelude in book 1 isn't my favourite anyway !! :)

Whoa! JS Bach, true music genius... I love all all the music he wrote. I can feel the magic every time I hear his music.
You played this piece with the heart, and the soul. Great!
