  • My grandfather took him deep twice in an overseas game in the 40's.

  • I played against Eddie and his 3 buddies in Janesville Wi, Beloit wi and Madison,Wi He was a great peformer and liked his Old Fashions, WE had a few together, RIP my friend! see ya when I get there in the big Diamond in the sky.. Bobby D

  • I here they are going to play their last game in Walla Walla WA. this weekend or next. (Sept. 3rd or 4th OR 10th and 11th. 2011 (NOT SURE and I MAY Have Bad Info).

  • Seen these guys in 1967 or 68 at Naval Station Roosevelt Roads, Puerto Rico. AMAZING!

  • We were just talking about the King and his Court the other day. I got to see him in a game at my Jr. High, had to be around 1964. Something how many different decades got to see them. We were all amazed!

  • espn musta missed this because its like the globetrotters of softball. 1:41 thats a balk right there

  • if he's not an inspiration to people afflicted with eye trouble, than i dont know who is!

  • can anyone tell me the name of the blonde gal who was the "queen and her court". she struck out joe morgan on the tonight show, but when she came back for a go with johnny bench, he powdered the ball and almost took off her head.

  • @bertiejr Yes, that was Rosie Black who originally was called the Queen and Her Maids. I remember seeing them in the 60's.

  • The catcher would tell the guy wear the ball was coming at

  • he pitched from second base and was clocked at 115 once

  • I GOT TO SEE THEM DURING THE SEVENTH INNING STRETCH AT AN ASTROS GAME. WENT 3 FOR 3. ALL THE ASTROS COULD DO WAS LAUGH. THEY NEVER EVEN FOULED A BALL. I WISH LIKE THE GLOBE TROTTERS, THEY WOULD KEEP PLAYING.

  • people keep saying that softball are for girls.. this show that its not just for girls.....

  • 100 mph underarm is more common than 100 overarm, it's a more natural motion, i remember you could always tell the pitcher on a fast pitch softball team, his or her throwing bicep was always huge. plus the distance is 1/3 shorter making it harder to hit.

feigner once struck out willie mays, roberto clemente, harmon killebrew, brooks robinson, willie mccovey, (all mlb hall of famers) in a 1967 two inning exhibition.

  • i wish i could pitch like that.

  • Man I saw these guys play in this video back in 2011 it was pretty amazing! Hats off to these guys.

  • I saw Eddie and his court back in the '70s. This vid brought back some great childhood memories.

  • My dad took me to see him in the early fifties at Hinchliffe Stadium, Paterson, NJ - they put on a great and fun show - saw him again in the seventies in Westchester, NY - maybe he lost a step or two but his show was if anything more entertaining and more fun and a wonderful nostalgia trip!

  • I remember watching him in my hometown of Logan,WV. They faced the local fastball champions who actually beat them one out of three but the local team had a guy named Jeff Swanner(softball hall of fame)who is regarded as one of(if not the)best hitters of all time. Eddie and his court were truly unbelievable, the pop of the catchers mitt would echo through the mountains, truly amazing man and team. I later watched him when he was well past his prime and he still was virtually unhittable in his 50's

  • It was my dream to see one of his games when I was a kid.

I was never able too. Thank you for this clip.

  • I saw these guys back in 1965; what a great memory; thanks for posting.

  • A great man. Excellent family and a great entertainer.

  • (continued) so it looked like no one was covering first, until, that is, you noticed that the catcher was running down first!! The shortstop led him like a wide receiver, he caught it ahead of the runner and stepped on first!! Out!!! Unbelievable!!!

  • I'm from Iowa and saw Feigner pitch in Waterloo in the late 60's at Waterloo's minor league baseball stadium. I used to pitch fast pitch, getting better as I got older and could throw in the low 80's and pitched a season in the Twin Cities helping us win the St. Paul city league championship. But you can't believe what Feigner's 100 mph pitch looked like! Unbelieveable. I remember one play where a hitter grounded to Feigner's shortstop, but the first baseman was standing next to the blindfolded

  • My father played fastpitch in the 70's and 80's for several teams in Iowa. Clear Lake Buttertop and the Des Moines Bombers. I remember them playing against the King and my father actually hitting 2 home runs off of Feigner....an accomplishment I don't think anyone else has ever done. Eddie was definately magic on the field!!!

  • I saw them 50 years ago.

    Amazing!

  • I saw him 50 years ago. Just amazing!

  • I'm a huge baseball fan, and I've never heard of him before. My friend's dad was telling us about him the other day. I had to look it up. It's awesome.

  • I faced the King in Great lakes, Illinois after a tournament for an exhibition game. I was lucky enough to get a hit off of him. Really, it was a bleeder off a change up hit between first and second. I got a triple out of it, but never scored as he struck out the next three batters. It was an honor just to face him and play against him as I had seen him play many times as a kid with my dad. It was one memorable moment I' ll never forget! A true legend!

  • I remember reading about him as a kid, this clip was a major treat for me to see what it really looked like. Thanks for posting!

  • Hahahahaha

  • The girls are hitting 70 mph now. Check the difference in tennis serve between the men and the women. Back when Fast Pitch Softball was so hot, there were several who could get to 100+.

  • As someone who has played for years in ISC level fastpitch, against the best in the world.......trust me, Feigner could throw that hard. There are several today who reach the low 90s. And why not? "Windmilling" is a natrual motion; much easier than throwing over-hand. You can get incredible snap.

  • I was waiting to face him. He was in his later yrs 60's. I begged to get up to bat. He was slowing down and I believed I could hit hit. Well his replacement came in .Ball moving 100 + I never got the bat around. I never got another shot at it. Lot of fun.

  • HAHAHAHAHAH! +1

  • My Dad faced him and layed down a bunt for a base hit. The King was not a happy man after he reached safely.

  • Anyone know where I can get footage of King knocking a cigarette out of Johnny Carson's mouth, if such an incident exists?

  • it is true he was radar guned at it the fastest nolan ryan thew who is best in baseball was 102 ...granted speed isnt every thing but sure does help ....not to mention in softball it is only 42 ft as opposed to 60 .6

  • Wow i never knew the king and his court lost...They were amazing, well it just proves even the best have to lose

  • is 104 even possible underarm?

  • Hell No!!!!!! Best Pitchers in the world can barely throw 104 overhanded. Monica Abbott barely throws 70 on her best days. She looks a hundred times faster than this guy. Yes this guy is good and entertaining. He looks about high 50's to low 60's mph at best. With all of the crazy arm flinging on his wind is distracting. Jenny Finch makes MLB guys look like fools in Pro's vs Joe's show pitches high 60's to 70 mph

  • eddie is was and always will be the best!!to the comment about not hitting 104.man you dont know shit

  • Believe it...Pitched in more than 10,000 games, with 930 no-hitters, 238 perfect games, 1,916 shutouts, 141,517 strikeouts, and 8270 victories. Somehow ESPN missed him on their SportsCentury top athletes list.

  • i saw him in long island 2 times too in late 70s ...best softball pitcher of all time...was like harlem globtrotters of softball even pitched from 2nd base blindfolded and he took a cigar out of johnny carsons mouth from 45 feet away on tv

  • believe it!! somehow nbc lost the footage in a flood at the station!!

  • Thanks for posting. I have great memories of seeing these guys in the mid seventies at our neighborhood park in Wood River,Illinois. This really take me back.

  • I had been looking for a video from this guys for so long!! thanks for uploading it! Eddie Feigner was-is-and will always be the best!!

  • I played against these guys in 'Nam. He let me foul one off.

  • I was fortunate enough to see the King & His Court in the late 70's. What a show. They were truly amazing. As usual, they won. I was quite sad to hear that Mr Feigner passed away last year. Thanks for the memories. I really feel the softball is under appreciated compared to baseball. There is just something magical about windmill softball when you get someone that can pitch so well.

  • My father got to see the legendary Eddie Feigner twice in his lifetime, many years ago. He still remembers to this day as one of the neatest things he's ever seen. Not only could Eddie pitch crazy 120 mile an hour fastballs with deadly accuracy, the whole team could hit extremely well too.

  • They played right across from my house in Vancouver when I was little. As it was both a womens and mens field, The queen and Her Court also came by several times. I remember him striking out mens top fastpitch hitters, throwing from just past second base.

The catcher would throw back a pitch and without stopping it, Eddie would bare hand it with a quick toss behind his back to pick off a runner leading off at first!

    Great summer memories!

  • One night in Williamsport, PA, Eddie & teammates pulled off the most amazing pickoff play. A Williamsport All-Star managed to get to third base. He began showing off, taking big leads. Eddie wound up and threw to the batter...but no! Instead, he threw the ball behind his bask to the first baseman who then threw a bullet straight across the diamond to third base, to which the outfielder had mosied over to cover. The runner returned to third..& walked right into the tagout. He never saw the play!

  • I had the opportunity to have played against these guys at a site in Turkey in 1960. They were an amazing group. We had a pitcher named Vern Schooley who was an above average run of the mill pitcher. It was competative. I often think of those times. We had a big six and a half foot bear which we had in a connex box behind the back stop. They were facinated with him.

  • WOW! This is great. My father made sure that I saw him when he and his court came to the mid west. I went into the service and played 2 years of fast pitch. After getting out and returning home fast pitch was still big in Columbus. In the early seventies word was out that Eddie and his court were coming to town. I thought what a treat to take my young son to see the Legend Himself. I did and this morning he called and took me back about 45 years. Oh! by the way I also took my father with us.

  • A friend of mine Steve McKay arranged for Eddie and his troupe to play a demonstration match in Ipswich Australia around the early 80's. It was played at Musketeers Baseball field at Spring Street Ipswich and he is the most amazing softball pitcher I have ever seen. He was well received and at the time softball for Men was very new in the area so he certainly added some glitz to the local scene. I feel priveldged to have seen him play and will always remember it fondly.

    Long Live the King !!

  • I saw Eddie pitch in Portland, Oregon in the 80's. He was probably in his mid 50's. It was an unbelievable exhibition. I'd grown up playing ball... I'd never seen anything that could compare with what Eddie did that day. Seldom do we ever see anything that we know we'll never see again, but Eddie was that thing. If you never saw him in person, you missed the most unbelivable feats on a diamond that I ever witnessed in my life! Long live the KING!!!!

  • thanks for posting brings back great memories. i saw them in 1977. before the game when warming up feigner would throw to his 3 teammates all at once with 3 softballs. he also pitched from cf i guess he added it into his program later on. that ss was awesome too, he covered lf/cf and actually made fly ball catches out there.

  • Im a pitcher myself and i tried to get a video of him and this REALLY helps! My grandpa played and saw him when he was 20...and he live to tell the tale! He wanted me to see him and i really like this video!
