Odd that a Core 2 duo would beat a higher clocked i5 in a boot up comparison but then again when it comes to booting up it's probably more to do with the speed and throughput of your hardrive. My 13" 2.53ghz MBP from mid 2009 took about 40 seconds to a minute to boot up, after I upgraded to an SSD it takes about 11-12 seconds on average.

Apple computers only emulate the full core usage and only PC's use the core usage to it's fullest intent.

in other words your not getting anything out of the cores using it on a apple

@threekill28 depending on how 'often' your going to edit videos, the 15" will perform better simply because of the bigger screen estate and the fact that you can opt for the core i5 processor which will render/export videos faster than the 13" (which are only core 2 duo chipsets).

I dont know man...this re-booting test that everybody does and shows (including myself), means really NOTHING. I have installed an SSD in my macbook pro and now it boots in 10 seconds...so what? It still takes minutes to process layers during a standard editing in photoshop, cause the hard disk is not involved at all.

Why not showing some real-life comparison? do you have a photoshop installed? Or Imovie? show us a 5minutes video processing with both, please, or something like that. thanks !

if you want a super fast computer that does pretty much everything you throw at it, (except hardcore gaming and video editing) and you dont care about portability, buy the iMac, if you want a really nice computer, that does everything you throw at it (again, except hardcore gaming and video editing) and you want to be able to bring it anywhere, get the macbook pro, its as simple as that, BUT for price/performance value, definitely go for the iMac.
