Hi guys. I have a starter traxxis and I think it has a .18 or something in it. I really like it and haev got used to driving it. But its such a pain to look after with the constant adjusting and then the clean up afterwards. Is Brushless now the better way to go?
GOOD VID... BUT MUSIC REMINDS ME OF DAYS I LIVED IN ALABAMA... (SMASHING DICK IN DOOR WOULD BE LESS PAINFUL THAN LISTENING TO AN ALBUM OF THIS... IS LIKE BLUEGRASS... OILDALE! I KILL MYSELF )
My sons 2.5R engine had a case of bearing failure and I bought him the 3.3 as the cost of parts were not feasable. He's impressed with the increase and the shorter chassis makes it more challenging.
@lissasbob it also may be your clutch/clutch shoes/ clutch spring my rustler has the same problem. if you can lift it up so the tires dont touch the ground and rev it full then it is the clutch
My Revo 3.3 has been great, but my sons revo 2.5R has been a nightmare. Both had roughly the same use and apart from the chassis and engine, they share the same components. He now runs a 3.3 motor in it.
waaaaay too lean man your engine will be no good in 2 months.....richen it when its SCREAMS real loud like that man its way too lean lookes like a year ago, i bet this engine is no more....lol
Revo (including the engine) is from 2006, conrod gave up two years ago whilst going flat out on a beach, but otherwise, the engine is still as it came out of the box. It sounds different due to the aftermarket pipe.
The Revo has never been modified for wet use, it only gets splashed not fully submersed. Try not to allow water to enter the carb. But as said earlier, I always clean (pressurised plant sprayer) and dry it out after use then spray with GT85. This Revo 3.3 is now over 4 years old.
love that song and truck when my dad and me saw that movie(im 15) when i was 7 years old i kind of felt in love with it :D then 1 year ago he bought me this car and im loving it except when i broke a part hehehe
I recommend some sort of waterproofing, but i have never used anything. After each wet session, I fully dry out the Revo and spray it with GT85 or similar.
Well worth the money. I have had several other r/c's and the Traxxas brand has been the best. Also bought the Revo 2.5 for my son. They have been put through all kinds of crap and still running well. Easy starting system and also easy to clean.
4 turns is a good starting point for standard set-up, but my Revo is not standard and I adjust the mixture to suit the current conditions. Running it in dry conditions at -6C requires a different mixture than when it's raining at a tropical 18C. That is why they are adjustable. BTW, try pre-warming the block on the side of a mountain in winter as we use our toys in the wild, not back yards etc.
Thanks for the advice, I run it slightly rich due to the RD logics pipe. The temperature in the UK changes constantly so regular adjustments are required. It normally runs at 4.5 -5 turns out.
@ValentinoCrossi Well I have to say you have a air leak. The 3.3 HSN is set at 4 turns out of the box. You have a air leak thus making you have to over compensate to allow it to run some what normal.
Once you get it started (hardest part in the cold) just have fun. Remember to spray it down with warm water after and check the electrics for damp. I normally put it somewhere warm to dry out.
water desent bother it

General rule.......If you like tinkering buy nitro. Brushless is much easier and can be faster. The smell and noise of nitro is a male thing.

Revo's are not wheelie machines, hence no wheelie bar. They will lift but not very high.

ValentinoCrossi 7 months ago
Maybe due to the fuel/air mixture. Check for any leaks (inlet and exhaust) then set up carb to factory settings is always a good starting point.
ValentinoCrossi 7 months ago
how much do they cost?
angustus5 7 months ago
This one cost me £340 a few years ago from Modelsport UK, they now retail at £469

does this car have gears?
SuperHonda11 1 year ago
Yes, it has a 2 speed autobox with reverse. The speed for gearchange is set by adjusting a screw through a little hole in the top of the gearbox.
ValentinoCrossi 1 year ago
You really need to tune those things, they are so lean!

4 turns out is ok when the ambient temp is above 20C, but try starting and running when the temp drops below 0C.
