Well being the parent of two if the kids put in cuffs.. I can definitely say that my daughter has had problems with the little girl that the cops shook before.. Not sure how old the kids were, and they definitely looked young. Couldn't see what actually happened. Only thing it really showed were kids being put in cuffs, and cop shaking girl. That wasn't right. I don't they were going to get arrested, i just think putting them in cuffs probably just showed them that they would've went to jail being of age. Oh yes cops can take, film, cameras, whatever they deem as possible evidence. I once had a 800 dollar camera taken. They put me in a cop car in cuffs when i refused and tried to leave with it. I finally got it back all scratched up 4 months later. They can do that. If it is a federal agency good luck getting it back.

I love the cops here in Lafayette. There very agressive, and yes they can be harsh, but they damn well do their job. Every interaction I had with LPD has been possitive. Everyone allways complaining about cops, well, stop doing stupid shit!

So did he get the phone back? Shaking the girl was a little excessive. I'd say cause for a write up, maybe a day or two suspension. Not firing. If they stole his phone and NEVER gave it back that's not right. If they looked at it for evidence of the fight then gave it back then I see nothing wrong. They didn't have to be dicks about it, but I think they were not out of line. The police that is. In a sea of a bunch of people where a fight JUST happened I think they showed restraint.
