I think the fact that your watching this at the cinema where you almost only can see the screen, and with loud and sound and no option to pause the movie and take a break. It really puts you in the scene, like you're there with Will. And that's why it is scary !

So, it's basically the same story but the end is different, because there are no other humans anymore.
