The brush intesity is a tad hard to get down...i should just get a tablet...lol..it'll make my life easier.

@baycrum267 While starting to work on digital painting couple of years back, I did start off with mouse. While the opacity cannot be set dynamically, it still is workable.

Hmm...you're good at this, and although I keep trying I can't get the same brush effects as yours. Or is it pressure sensitive? What are your brush settings to make it so?

a tablet is a little square that you connect in your computer and you draw on it with a digital pen but the results come out on the computer

Wacom Intous3 is a graphics tablet that allows one to draw using a pen like device on it - that digitizes it in software.

Wacom is just one company producing graphics tablets, there are others.

I use a tablet, and i have GIMP too.. but mine doesn't respond to pressure sensitivity..

How do you get your tablet to interface so smoothly with gimp? I end up having to use opencanvas to do any drawing simply because gimp is very jerky with the tablet input.

Jerky? I do have problems in terms of controlling the pressure sensitivity, that is - to have a smooth transition from low pressure to high.

But if in terms of position sesitivity, it works for rigth out of the box. (Unless of course I am working on really high dpi and a large brush).

um when ur using a tablet to draw on gimp does it respond to pressure sensitvity? i draw with my mouse on it so i wouldnt know.

Yes, GIMP does respond to pressure sensitivity when using tablet..
