  • catchy, but this guy is like a dark-skinned equivalent of a nazi.

  • poor Buju. He went from the irie shores of Jamaica, to a shitty Babylon jail!

    Talk about hell on Earth.

May Jah guide and protect him while he is in that place.

  • @dude75able I JUST got a shirt made that says exactly that ;)

  • that is not how you spell perspective

  • you guys do relize that he dosent like gay people cause his best freind was raped murdered by a gay guy right i bet if your best freind was murdered by a gay youd be pretty pissed to not to say that its right to go around shootin people up butvyou gotta understand his perspctive

  • @kawesome24 "[do you] relize that he [Mark Myrie] dosent like gay people because his best freind was raped murdered by a gay guy . . ."

You've got your story mixed up a little bit. You may be thinking of the story about the song "Murderer." Two of Buju's thug DJ friends were both murdered in 1993. I call them thugs because they both performed songs that glorified guns and violence.

Neither of these two men, both aged 27, were raped.

  • @kawesome24 "[do you] relize that he [Buju Banton] doesnt like gay people because his best freind was raped murdered by a gay guy . . ."

Buju has a story that supposedly inspired "Boom Bye Bye." It involves a little boy who was sexually molested by a male schoolteacher. You can hear Buju's account on YouTube BUJU BANTON EXCLUSIVE VIDEO OF HIM SPEAKING ON GAYS, POLITICS AND HUSTLING.

Buju doesn't say the school teacher is gay. Buju probably doesn't know if the guy was gay.

  • @kawesome24 "[do you] relize that he [Mark Myrie] doesnt like gay people because his best freind was raped murdered by a gay guy . . ."

Buju never says in his account that the little boy was killed. We don't really know if any sexual molestation actually happened. Was the schoolteacher convicted? We don't know.

We do know that gay men do not molest children any more often than non gay men. You should read FACTS ABOUT HOMOSEXUALITY AND CHILD MOLESTATION

  • alot of batty bwoys inna di world man

  • Why are you people so obsessed with gays when clearly they are more females than gays. It's either because y'all are in the "closet" or just plain ignorant. This song is really disturbing they way he is so willing to kill a gay person and be proud of it. Clearly the LGBTQ community has an admirer. But on the other hand it is catchy :)

  • @c7boii "Why are you people so obsessed with gays . . . "

There is some good information about the Jamaican obsession with homosexuality in the online article from Guernica Magazine titled "Murder Music." If you search on GUERNICA MAGAZINE MURDER MUSIC it comes right up or use the link on my Channel Page.

You will also find it worthwhile to watch YouTube video THOMAS GLAVE - OSLO FREEDOM FORUM 2011 for some more information about how LGBT people are treated in Jamaica.

  • FREE BUJU

  • @dude75able "FREE BUJU"

Mark Myrie, who is known as "Buju Banton," is projected to be released on 01-03-2019.

So Buju is expected to be free around January 3rd, 2019.

That information is from the U.S. Federal Bureau of Prisons Inmate Locator. Anyone can get this information just by search for BOP INMATE LOCATOR or, there is a handy link to the site on my Channel Page.

  • @jtubebx1 He wrote his own freedom track: OPTIMISTIC SOUL

  • Issues.

  • Yeah buumbacloth !!!

  • a only batty bwoy woulda dislike dis

  • PROVERBS 3:30-32

    Don't get into needless fights.

Don't envy violent men. Don't copy their ways. For such men are an abomination to Jah, but he gives his friendship to the holy.

  • Well Buju banton guy has never had a man suck his dick because I can categorically state that it is better than women. Anyways, I love this song, it's funny and catchy :)

  • @artfuldodgaa BURN YOUR LIES

  • @dude75able No, it's true, honestly, you should try it. By the way, I love how you favourited this video and underneath you favourited judge not by bob marley haha, how ironic :)

  • @artfuldodgaa i never favorited this.

    now bug off, batty boy

  • @dude75able You're cute :)

  • @artfuldodgaa Yeah, my wife thinks so.

  • @dude75able Tell your wife she's got competition ;)

  • @artfuldodgaa Nah

  • This song totally shows how times have changed...Wow, I don't agree with the lyrics, i never knew what the song was saying, someone told me a while back that it was about child molestors, so it didn't bother me, but when I read the lyrics for myself, i was really wowed. bab, bad, buju

  • @Kelliekwillis "This song totally shows how times have changed . . ."

Jamaica and the Caribbean are still very homophobic places. Most Americans would be astonished at the intensity & pervasiveness of homophobia there.

Buju put out the story of the child rape to try and justify "Boom Bye Bye." But gay men are no more likely to be child molesters than other men. Killing all the gay men, as Buju advocates, would not reduce child molestations at all.

  • i've never seen such scared ppl before in one spot. to hate gays is so ignorant and makes no sense whatsover. I am strait and i see no issue with homosexuals. let them live there lives as they let us live ours. they arent bothering anyone. homophobic ppl have to ask themselves one question: what are you so scared of?

  • @m80wolf You know what me scared of; that by 2020 a pure batty man a go up inna mi face, An mi cyaan live wid dat. I'm not for one minute advocating to murder anyone, but these people not fi diccance won't keep dem batty business to dem selves.

  • WOMAN IS THE GREATEST THING GOD EVER PUT ON THE LAND

SMOKIN' LOVES THEM FROM HEAD, TO THE FOOT BOTTOM...

    o.0

  • Whoever hates this is either gay or lesbian, but I agree with Buju Banton (Boom Bye Bye Inna Batty Bwoy Head)

  • @therealdonley007 "Whoever hates this is either gay or lesbian . . . "

Actually, in the U.S., Canada, the U.K. and much of Europe, many non LGBT people would be truly appalled if they understood what this song is saying.

We want to increase awareness of not just this song, but this entire genre of hate music. The more "dislike" clicks the better. But people who understand the message of this song and disagree with it should confront club owners who hire these musicians, etc.

  • FREE GARGAMEL

  • this is sick. i hate it.

  • @beetanfaheebxx fuck you very much sir.

  • @jesusdudetakeashower :o :o was that to meee?

  • I was chillin' at a bar and they played this. I was drunk enough to listen closely, and I thought it was the most amusing thing ever.

  • JAMAICANS DO NOT SUPPORT HOMOSEXUAL ACTIVITIES BUT YOU CAN NOT FORCE TOLERANCE ON ANYONE BECAUSE IT IS A CHOICE TO TOLERATE....

  • @Dutchessof6 ". . . YOU CAN NOT FORCE TOLERANCE ON ANYONE . . ."

    I think you are right.

You might find this hard to believe, but LGBT people are actually quite loveable. So get to know us!

Actually, over time, we can expect greater tolerance and acceptance for LGBT people as information about us gets out. That is what has happened in the U.S., Canada, the U.K. and elsewhere.

In the U.S. gay & lesbian sex was illegal in all states & homosexuality was considered a mental illness.

  • @jtubebx1 tolerance is good.

the only thing we should not tolerate is terrorists.

  • @Dutchessof6 ". . . YOU CAN NOT FORCE TOLERANCE ON ANYONE . . ."

Scientists, starting in the 1950s started studying gay men. The scientists were able to prove that gay men are as mentally healthy as non gay men.

In 1973 homosexuality was removed as a mental illness, based on scientific research.

Over time, laws making gay and lesbian sex illegal were challenged and overturned.

Acceptance of LGBT people has steadily been increasing in the U.S.

  • @Dutchessof6 ". . . YOU CAN NOT FORCE TOLERANCE ON ANYONE . . . "

Right now, polls show the majority of Americans think gay marriage should be legalized.

There are laws in many states to protect LGBT people from discrimination in jobs & housing. We have national protection in the U.S. against housing discrimination, but not in employment.

    There are hate crimes laws.

You can learn some of the history by reading FACTS ABOUT HOMOSEXUALITY AND MENTAL HEALTH. Link on my Channel Page.

  • Matisyahu renounced the Hassidic sect 2 days ago!

Now he can move freely on the path to righteousness/enlightenment!

Hopefully, someday Buju will see the light too.

  • Ok, I bet a lot of you do not realize he turned Rastafarian. This song is old, this is his past. Jah Bless :)

  • @JesseAce711 ". . . I bet a lot of you do not realize he turned Rastafarian."

Did he continue to perform this song after he became a Rastafarian? He actually peformed this song for at least nine years after he became a Rastafarian.

He has never stopped defending "Boom Bye Bye" over the past 22 plus years. He has never retracted the "kill LGBT" message of "Boom Bye Bye."

Buju is as homophobic now as he was in 1988. The Rastas are very homophobic.

  • @JesseAce711 ". . . I bet a lot of you do not realize he turned Rastafarian."

The Rastas are strongly homophobic. And they take the olde testament of the bible literally, except for the parts about adultery and fornication.

The bible calls for death to gays, just as Buju does.

The bible also calls for death to adulterers, as Buju does not. Perhaps because he is an adulterer himself.

  • @jtubebx1 Not all Rastas commit adultery.

Now you are bearing false witness against i and i!

  • Comment removed

  • @jtubebx1 Haven't you heard?

    There's a NEW TESTAMENT now!

    Stop trolling about the Torah!

  • @dude75able "There's a NEW TESTAMENT now!"

That prohibition on eating shrimp that you follow: Olde testament or new?

If you and your wife follow the hygiene rules around menstruation, is that olde testament or new?

  • @jtubebx1 Shrimp is a bottom feeder, so beware!

I'm not trying to get my red wings, no way!

I follow old and new testament, except for the part about "an eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth", and the Leviticus scrips that mention slavery.

Yeshua was the completion of Judaism, something the Hassids deny.

  • @jtubebx1 I am more opposed to pork, than i am shrimp.

The swine flesh is filth ridden, much like soddomite people.

  • @jtubebx1 shrimp isn't really shellfish. where's the shell?

you were thinking of mollusks, oysters, clams, etc.

  • @jtubebx1 maybe he just hates gays maybe he dont likethe idear maybe the idear makes his skin crawl like it makes mine maybe he is gay and thinksits nasty and the tune helps hime

  • @SuperSlimshadie "maybe he [Buju Banton] just hates gays . . . maybe he [Buju Banton] is gay and thinksits nasty . . . "

After 22 years of performing "Boom Bye Bye," making comments from the stage, several other homophobic songs, giving interviews and issuing official statements, Mark Myrie, known as "Buju Banton," has made it clear what he thinks about LGBT people.

One of the messages of "Boom Bye Bye" is "I, Buju Banton, am not gay." There's a good chance he is gay.

  • @jtubebx1 ha ha ha ha

    NO

  • boom bye bye batty bwoy shoot them motherfuckers down

  • @m80wolf you listened to this in 4th grade?

When i was in 4th grade, the only reggae i heard was Bob Marley or Eddy Grant.

Thank Jah that most kids don't hear slack like this here song.

  • @dude75able i got much respect to all cultures and races but honestly i do not respect buju banton for making this song and like i said i was ignorant for getting into this song without realizing what it was about

  • @m80wolf looooooooooooooool i love this song that honestly sounds so dumb u dont know what the songs about the first line mad it clear u had to watch lyrics ah ha ha ha ha ha ha

  • @SuperSlimshadie dont be stupid . i was in fourth grade when i heard this song. i didnt know what the fuck he was saying. and second im not jamaican i didnt know what a battboy was .

  • @dude75able yh they do this song is highly popular in jamaica and its making way here too

  • @SuperSlimshadie ". . . this song ["Boom Bye Bye"] is highly popular in jamaica and its making way here [Great Britain] too"

"Boom Bye Bye" was released in the U.S., the U.K., and the world in 1992. Early opposition to "Boom Bye Bye" began in the U.K., with Ted Brown and his group Black Lesbians and Gay Men Against Media Homophobia.

YouTube video BOOM BYE BYE BUJU BANTON INTERVIEW will give you some of this background.

Ted Brown contacted GLAAD in the U.S. in 1992.

  • @m80wolf ur generation was kept distant by adult things by the time ur 23 u still dont know what sex is wtf in my generation 7 year olds know what a blowjob is

  • HAHAHAHAHA smh its good music idgaf if u dnt like it theres the biggest faggot of them all justin bieber o how eva u spell it am DUNN

  • @jtubebx

yes i understand it was ignorant for him to write this song. all im saying is in context he was a 15 year old kid, in jamaica, in the mid 80's where majority of people where quite homophobic let alone a 3rd world country.

but anyone who molests kids or rapes anyone deserves what comes for them. this life or the next!!

  • @forulimu ". . . in context he was a 15 year old kid . . . "

Are you aware that he was still singing this song at age 31 in 2004? He only stopped singing the full song under pressure from Amnesty International. You can read Amnesty's letter to Buju and his manager Donovan Germain in the online article "Singer [Buju Banton] May Be Linked to Homophobic Attack"

There's a handy link to this article on my Channel Page.

Buju has never repudiated the "kill LGBT" message of the song.

  • @forulimu ". . . anyone who molests kids or rapes anyone . . ."

The alleged child sexual molestation case that allegedly inspired Buju Banton to write "Boom Bye Bye," supposedly involved a young boy and a school teacher.

This was supposed to have been a "widely publicized" case.

We don't know if the school teacher was ever convicted. We don't know what the penalty was. If convicted, I'll bet he didn't get the grisly penalty that you envision.

There is no evidence the perp was gay.

  • @jtubebx1 I hope he got a bullet to the dome.

  • @dude75able "I hope he got a bullet to the dome."

Would that be if he is guilty, or not?

Unless a child is killed, the penalty for sexual molestation of a child is not death.

In Jamaica, the maximum penalty for an adult male who has sex with a teenage (underage) girl (statutory rape) is less than the penalty for two consenting adult men who have sex with each other. Seven years versus ten years.

  • buju wrote this when he was 15 in response to a man raping a boy. so eff u all.

  • @forulimu

It was still very ignorant of him to create such song that tells people it's okay to shoot gay people.

  • @forulimu "buju wrote tyhis when he was 15 in response to a man raping a boy . . ."

Just because a child molester rapes a kid somewhere is no reason to call for the killing of all gay men.

Gay men are no more likely to sexually molest children than non gay men.

See the article FACTS ABOUT HOMOSEXUALITY AND CHILD MOLESTATION

There's a useful link to this article on my Channel Page.

Killing all gay men would not reduce sexual molestation of children, at all.

  • Dude probably can't tell his ass from his leg, fucking ignorant jamaican scum. If I saw this dude, I wouldn't be the one getting shot.

  • @FlyawayNinjaCow123 you're scum

  • BIG UP JAH-MEKYA!!!!

  • THANK GOD! he didnt make a music video for this song because it would cause more controversy.

  • @90zkid07

True. And lotta people told me they hate to listen to this song because it is too graphic and make them sick.

  • @fusa357 is this song banned in Jamaica? well I like the beat..my friend likes the song even tho he's gay.

  • @90zkid07 "is this song banned in Jamaica?"

"Boom Bye Bye" is banned from the airwaves, radio and TV, in Jamaica. At least parts of it are still being sung at festivals in Jamaica, most recently on 03/24/11 by Sizzla at "Coke Zero Live on the Waterfront" in Montego Bay, Jamaica.

The Coca-Cola company has been catching some well-deserved flack from activists. They have sponsored other festivals featuring "kill LGBT" performers in Jamaica, such as Reggae Sumfest 2010.

  • BOOM BYE BYE!...

  • OMG , im Jamaican and i can honestly say, i dis own this homophobic asshole

  • @Reese968 But if you're a Jamaican why does on your Youtubechannel stands "Land:Canada"?

  • @Metalgandalf27 because i live in canada. duh -.-

  • @Reese968 This song is 20 YEARS OLD.

    Gays, get over it.

    Music is entertainment

  • @lilak5150

The whiney, narcissists will never get over it. They will continue the war until they are wiped off the face of the earth and believe me, the filthy creatures will be.

  • @AllTruth1 Amen

  • @lilak5150 "This song ["Boom Bye Bye"] is 20 YEARS OLD."

It's old, but it is still carrying its hateful and murderous message.

Mark Myrie, known as "Buju Banton," still defends it. He is still as homophobic now as he was in 1988 when he wrote the song.

If there was not constant attention to this song and its hateful and violent message, Buju, or others would begin performing it again.

Sizzla actually did perform parts of it this year.

(Buju is currently on a hiatus).

  • @jtubebx1 I disagree, no one I know who knows this song has ever attacked a homo sexual

  • @FukcKKKBNP ". . . no one I know who knows this song has ever attacked a homo sexual"

But this song is often sung by people as they attack LGBT people. It is also sung as a celebration of the deaths of LGBT people in homophobic attacks.

There are reports of people being attacked at concerts, but I have been unable, so far, to get dates or other confirmation of that.

  • @Reese968 my youth u a proably som american born jamaica u no know wah the slave owner dem used to do to wi back in de slavery days thats why in jamaica we no beleive in battyman u must understand like in di bible Leviticus 18 22 god say dat one man shall not lay with thy father nor thy mother or another gender of same flesh

  • @MegaZande look, i understand all of that & yes ive read the passage but the bible also said thou shalt not kill. so gay straight bi sexual or wtvs. no one has a right to take a life also, who are we but mere people, we have no right to be the judge, the lord is the judge and he sall command punishment as he sees fit. & american born or not im pro life and you talk bout slavery and you should know that back when slavery was legal, the kkks sick thoughts, were that they were carrying out god will

  • @Reese968 also, i am a christian women and i follow the word of god, and no matter whom the person is, i show love and compassion. cause we are gods people not god. this man singing this song, should not people talking about killing people, he has not right once so ever. if you do not like someone lifestyle, it should be a personal thought, not a song. as well speaking as a black person, going to the kkks, they tied black ppl onto crosses and set them afire saying it was the will of god

  • @MegaZande and they were very wrong, so to finish my statement, i love all kinds of people and a man like that, is just spreading evil and sick thoughts to young people, like myself. i have better things to do then to waste my energy hating a brand of people because they have chosen to sleep with the same gender. if you are truly a person of god,you should do the same and spread love not hatred. we are black people and have had way to much hatred directed our way for many years, make a change

  • @MegaZande heal the world make it a better place, for you and for me and the entire human race. btw gays arent animals and shouldnt be shot like they are dogs. p.s im not american, i;m Canadian and whether i was born in Jamaica or Canada, is irrelevant because i have the same family values. oh another thing, have a wonderful day and god bless :)

  • @Reese968 AMEN!

  • @MegaZande Is it part of rastafarianism or just being Jamaican that requires one to type like an idiot?

  • @hemoglobin that was really ignorant.

  • @camacric000 I agree

  • Comment removed

  • 169 FUCKING batty bwoys were here -.-

  • not cool!

  • Anyone who is that worried about gays is gay! Buju Banton is a worthless piece of shit, he wouldnt have a career without slandering gays...Good thing he is in prison where gay stuff never happens, :).

  • @ChristianMacNeal he would have a career without doing that, and it would be a much nicer one.

And you sounded really sarcastic on that last line.

  • @ChristianMacNeal

Yes, I gather the relationship he enjoys with his cellmate ever since their meeting in the showers is purely platonic in nature. Only another eight years to go Buju...

  • @roquefort88888 shut up batty boy!!!

  • @roquefort88888 ". . . I gather the relationship he enjoys with his cellmate ever since their meeting in the showers . . ."

Consensual sex is OK, but we don't wish any non consensual sex on Mark Myrie (Buju Banton) in prison. The fact that he is in a privately-run prison is of concern, since these places tend to be all around more violent and more abusive than government-run U.S. prisons.

The ten years that Buju has been sentenced to is adequate punishment for his crimes.

  • @roquefort88888 buju a rude boy n got mad respect in the US. If you never been to prison don't talk its not like the movies

  • @TheBoostDoctor Nah. Him a Rasta

  • @ChristianMacNeal

It's so true, anyone who is worried about gays is gay. But this song became famous not because it bashes gays, but the dub-plates of this song used for the sound clash made it worldwide. To those listeners, batty boy is not real gay people, but their opponents for the clash. because they didn't even know gay people really exist until they heard the controversy. Guns and bullets mean dub-plates and songs, too.

  • @fusa357 ". . . they didn't even know gay people really exist until they heard the controversy."

    That's bullshit.

What made this popular is the beat, the baseline and perhaps Mark Myrie's growl.

What makes the song controversial is that it calls for gay men to be shot in the head, shot with and Uzi, have acid splashed on them and then to be burned like an old tire or necklaced.

This in a country where LGBT people are frequently beaten and lynched.

  • Burn dis track! slack is whack!

  • Hate the sin, Not the sinner!

  • iis this music going about gay people?

  • @gucci24artist "iis this music going about gay people?"

"Boom Bye Bye" calls for gay men to be shot in the head, shot with an Uzi, have acid splashed on them and then to be burned like an old tire or necklaced.

Earlier live versions of this song on YouTube have the line "murder batty bwoy." Watch YouTube video BUJU AND SHABBA CONTREVERSY

Some of the lyrics shown in this video are actually wrong. Look for the line "dem haffi dead." Buju is actually singing "they [gays] must be dead."

  • @gucci24artist "iis this music going about gay people?"

If you count the number of times that Buju sings "they must be dead," clearly referring to gay men, you will find he repeats it 10 times.

  • @jtubebx1 THANK YOU FOR YOUR REACTION I UNDERSTAND KNOW. X

  • Boom Bye Bye Battybwoy fi dead

  • nil respect for the batty boy

  • @knicks1616 nil respect for the homophobe

  • @firemenrhot

to think something is morally and ethically wrong does not mean you fear it. I disagree with rape, does that make me a rapephobe? To you I guess it does, and maybe your a rapephobe too. Freely choosing to act on gay impulses and is always wrong. I know this because it goes against nature and reality.

  • @knicks1616 I have no choice about my sexuality. If I'd had a choice when I was a teenager, I would've chosen to be straight because it's so much easier to function in society. As it is now, I'm out and happy with myself. Homosexuality occurs in the animal kingdom - look it up. You can't say it goes against nature and reality. It IS nature and reality, for whatever reason. Also, homophobia doesn't simply mean "fear of gays", it means "irrational aversion to gays" (look it up in the dictionary).

  • @firemenrhot Not all people that are labelled "homophobe" are afraid. Plus why should one person be afraid of another?

Hurricanes, earthquakes, spiders and nuclear bombs are what scare me, but i try not to dwell on those things. Faith in the Almighty is much better.

  • @dude75able "Not all people that are labelled 'homophobe' are afraid."

If you read up about Jamaicans, in articles like the Guernica Magazine "Murder Music" or "The Most Homophobic Place on Earth?" or "How AIDS Became a Caribbean Crisis," you will realize the Jamaicans are very, very afraid of homosexuals.

See links on my Channel Page.

Jamaicans are so afraid of gays or being thought to be gay themselves that some of them are afraid to say the number "2" or say words like "back" or "bottom."

  • @jtubebx1 How is the number "2" gay?

Is it a reference to defecation?

  • @dude75able "How is the number '2' gay?"

That is explained in the "How AIDS Became A Caribbean Crisis" article from Atlantic Monthly. This is easy to find online, or use the handy link on my Channel Page.

Anyone who is interested in this fear, among some, in Jamaica of saying the number "2," should watch YouTube video TERROR FABULOUS- NUMBER 2

This is not something that I am making up.

  • @knicks1616 "Freely choosing to act on gay impulses and is always wrong."

What you are saying is that everyone should be non LGBT, just like you. That is sort of like being right handed and saying "everyone should just be right handed like me."

That is not the way that things are.

Homosexual people are consenting adults who are attracted to other consenting adults of the same sex.

Who are you to say that LGBT people shouldn't have sex with the people they are sexually attracted to?

  • @knicks1616 "I disagree with rape, does that make me a rapephobe?"

You can't understand the meaning and use of the word "homophobe" just by looking at the root words. "Homophobe" and "homophobia" have been in use for decades and homohobia is defined as "irrational fear and hatred of homosexuals."

The Wikipedia article is pretty good. The word was coined by a non LGBT psychologist named George Weinberg.
