German troops were very highly trained especially the grenadiers. Though outnumbered...the Germans fought a masterful defensive war. The Allies paid in spades for every inch of ground. Both admitted to this. One fought against Japan...the other was in the German 6th army at Stalingrad.

The man who plays Cpt Winters is actually british, which I didn't think was true until I saw an interview with him where he spoke with his british accent. It kind of gave me some sort of higher respect towards him since that's not the easiest thing to do.

the only 2 things that i dont like from band of brothers is that is pretty similar to inglourious basterds,2 hours of talking and 23 seconds of action,also there are many surreal battles when the americans kill 999999999 germans and only have one american wounded,but the rest is fine,,i know americans are patriot but this is ridiculous,as einstein said,patriotism is a childish disease

@luftwaffe91 I am American but of German decent. Both of my grandfathers were in the War...one American and one German. Both can attest to the fact that this war was not easy on either side. German troops were very highly trained especially the grenadiers. Though outnumbered...the Germans fought a masterful defensive war. The Allies paid in spades for every inch of ground. Both admitted to this. One fought against Japan...the other was in the German 6th army at Stalingrad.

@luftwaffe91 Actually, I'm pretty sure easy company had one of the highest mortality rates in the paratroopers. It seems like the Americans mostly survive because the main characters are the ones who survived to be interviewed by Stephen Ambrose. I'm pretty sure there are a ton of Americans dying off screen.

USA as a country waited untill the end of ww2 untill they got attacked. Before that all USA did was to sell weapons and ammo. Thats not what a hero would do.
However the men that USA poured opon the Huns and the Japs was true heros! But lets keep in mind that the people has never been USA, they have only been the cannon foder and cheap labor for the rich educated elitists that held the true heros back from doing the right thing from the start.

i lost my grandpa because of the nazis and they are bad in the Netherlands the killed thousands of people. You must not know what you're talking about. Tyranny in any form is not good. Also, even with a "bad leader", civilians are always fully capable of rising up against him/her. For example, The German civilians knew full well about the horrors of concentration camps because they were located next to large cities. However the citizens did not make ANY effort to save a single life nor report it to the Allies. The stench of concentration camps could be smelled 20 miles away, but they chose to ignore.

I hate to be having this argument on such an irrelevant place and I'll leave this with one last comment. I do not have anything against Germans but I believe those citizens at that time could have done something. True the "police" or the Nazis murdered the Jews, BUT if the German people were to revolt together, the Nazis would never attempt to exterminate their own "master race" (that's being hypocritical). That's just my opinion, and people shouldn't just think for themselves. Take action.

First of all you stupid mother fucker, the "horrors" of the camps was not wildly spread. Even some of the top Generals were unaware of the situation. Rommel himself didn't find out until 1943. You talk about rebellion like its what you would have done. If you have a family you will do anything to protect them, and you would never do anything that would put them in jeopardy.

Actually, in one instance, the German townspeople moved and reburied the bodies of their murdered Jews. A mass grave where they were first dumped was too close to town; the smell was too strong. So the German townspeople took it upon themselves to move them, (hundreds of them, all from the same camp) to a new location, farther from town. There is no truth in the claims that no Germans knew, or that camps "weren't that bad." Those people are sick, and in denial to cover shame.
