Well you could though why would you ? Keep in mind that the G2M is monophonic so chords aren't a possibility unless you arppegiate them. The GR20 setup provides more flexibility and polyphonic capability albeit at a higher price and the required pickup attachment for your guitar. The G2M takes the audio out jack from your guitar.and converts it to MIDI so no additional pickup is required.
...theres only one thing to it: since it is nothing but a normal A/D converter it might have a greater latency with lower frequencies (greater periodic time or rather longer sine waves) so you better play at the 12 fret and tune your synthie or whatever device an octave down to avoid this effect.
Well, a little description would help i guess (sorry if it's not)..
Polyphonic (in guitar also called hexaphonic because guitar can produce max 6 notes) : the device can recognized more than one note simultaneously (e.g. chords). The guitar must be fitted with special pickup.
Monophonic : the device can only recognized only single note at a time (e.g. solo).
Thanks Reaktor that is a great description. Yes you do need a special MIDI pickup and a more expensive MIDI controller (i.e. AXON or Roland systems) to interpret what you play on your guitar if you want to play chords.
At the price point of around $99 the SONUUS is really an amazing buy and certainly opens up many doors.
Also probably worth to be added, with the current technology it's still nearly impossible for a Pitch/Guitar-to-MIDI converter device to recognize polyphonic material perfectly without special MIDI hex pickup. But i really wish Sonuus will prove me wrong *lol*
Just so you guys know, the G2M is only monophonic (not hexaphonic...) and you need to slow your playing down so it can keep up but being that it is affordable it does open up many possibilities.
Bommer. I won't be able to use it than. Since my playing is very much polyphonic. Playing fingerstyle. Perhaps if I play palm mute on the bass it will focus on the treble? Hoping it will.
will it works with mad catz midi pro adapter, and to play rockband 3 with it?
grateful for respons!

the fact that is monophonic makes it useless.

@RUOCCOLOCO All technical questions should be asked on the SONNUS channel >>>

I was wondering if this device needs a pair of studio monitors to be heard, or can it be heard merely through the computer sound card/speakers?

I use virtual instrument ,the cubase.
But the instruments do not sound good.
should I schedule it ? How can I do it?

does it work with a bass guitar?

I wanna know that

It should to some degree, probably better in the upper registers but from what I understand SONNUS is making a unit specifically for Bass.
Check with SONNUS!!!
DanSindel 2 years ago
Yes, there was a statement from James himself (the Sonuus team) about bass version, check the user forum :)
ReaktorFreak 2 years ago
i have never used one, but technically it should. thought that doesnt mean the makers concentrated on the lower registers.

Whats best, this or a midi guitar pickup?

Interesting product. Why isn't it on your online store? Why is your site such a mess? It's like you're taunting us.

Hi i am considering buying this, just wondering can it be used for playing chords when notating or can you only play single notes?
10R8 2 years ago
Only single notes I am affraid. I was disappointed too. Still a great product.
fridrikur 2 years ago
Single notes but can be used with *any* input. Try that with a hex pickup..
ReaktorFreak 2 years ago
I see the point. Using pt8's score editor and my guitar for 'writing' the notes is a dream come true.

Also to reduce latency, pick the strings lightly. If you get low velocity (volume) on the synth sound, use EQ or something before G2M to compensate.

This might be the device I have been looking for. Thanks for this great video. I loved it.
