the lions hunt larger animals as they live in a pride so they need more food and its easy to hunt with more lions. the difficulty is working in a team is really hard which lions are really good at. i love the way leapords hunt they sneak right in front of the prey and then one jump and the prey is captured. buffalo are by far the most bravest prey of lions. they make a wall to protect their clafes usually only mothers protect their calfes and ther est of the hord runs.

Well, that is a very debatable issue. I have many reasons why I think a lion will win, bengal tigers and african lions are the same weight on average, lions are taller and slightly longer. Siberian tigers have only ever been said to be bigger but you have to remember how much fat they have to store to live in Siberias freezing climate.

That's not quite true, lions commonly live in prides so it makes sense that they hunt as a pride a large bulk of the time. However like I said I can give you plenty of videos of lions taking down buffalo solo, even giraffe, tigers taking down things as large as that on their own have only ever been documented on paper which gives you an idea of how rare that is.
Lions do not always hunt in packs I can give you quite a few videos of lions taking down buffalo, and giraffe on their own. Lions hunt bigger prey because they live in prides that is true but the fact remains that even single lions take down bigger prey on average than tigers. But that could be due to many things, either way what kind of prey they hunt has very little to do with the lion vs tiger debate I was just correcting someone who was trying to lie about it.

Siberian tigers rarely if ever hunt brown bears and they hunt them by ambush, not head on.
Obviously I'm not trying to put down a tigers abilities I'm sure they're quite capable of hunting anything as big as a lion hunts.
But this silly notion that a tiger will easily kill a lion is quite simply untrue. In fact in most cases it is quite the opposite.

Well, that is a very debatable issue. I have many reasons why I think a lion will win, bengal tigers and african lions are the same weight on average, lions are taller and slightly longer. Siberian tigers have only ever been said to be bigger but you have to remember how much fat they have to store to live in Siberias freezing climate.
Although like I say it's very debatable, usually if someone prefers one feline over another that's who they'll stick with no matter how much you debate.

Untrue, there are certain populations of tigers averaging 200 kg's, which will obviously be larger than an African lion from Somalia which average 180 kg's.
However lions of places such as Rhodesia average 202.2 kg's
Then there are places in India where the tiger also averages 180 kg's.
All showing when trying to compare information is often cherry picked. All evidence shows they are the same weight on average.
There has never been a tiger population averaging 50 kgs more than a lion.

That's not quite true, lions commonly live in prides so it makes sense that they hunt as a pride a large bulk of the time. However like I said I can give you plenty of videos of lions taking down buffalo solo, even giraffe, tigers taking down things as large as that on their own have only ever been documented on paper which gives you an idea of how rare that is.

Lions do not always hunt in packs I can give you quite a few videos of lions taking down buffalo, and giraffe on their own. Lions hunt bigger prey because they live in prides that is true but the fact remains that even single lions take down bigger prey on average than tigers. But that could be due to many things, either way what kind of prey they hunt has very little to do with the lion vs tiger debate I was just correcting someone who was trying to lie about it.

I think I'm going to let most of what you just said slide because it's clear you don't know much about this. It says that in this video but I can give you plenty of videos of a lion taking down a buffalo solo, can you give me one of a tiger doing the same?
Also no, lions are 4 foot high at the shoulder, tigers are 3 foot high, and they're both similar lengthwise (6 - 8 ft). Tigers and bears avoid one another, in fact tigers avoid most conflict in general they're solitary after all

Of course lions are more agressive due to the fact that they squabble over food all the time but tigers don't need to hunt buffalo or elephants or rhinos because of the fact that they are solitary predators and can't afford to risk its life trying to get prey that will rot since it can't finish eating it in time.

2. An elephant and her young being killed by a single tigress. (The adult elephant died later of her wounds)
3. A tiger killing a croc
These are rare cases too, but lets see you try and find any reported cases of a single lion attacking and killing a full grown elephant or two lions taking down a rhino. As for killing crocs, we all know lions don't fuck with crocs.

There is one reported case of a tiger killing an elephant and it was made by a hunter, asian elephant are a lot smaller and a lot less agressive than african elephants, lions don't like to swim but yeah they rarely hunt crocodiles, just like they rarely hunt leopards, they only fight if they're protecting their territory.
And no there aren't I have heard of perhaps 2 reported cases of clearly injured lions being killed by buffalo, in some areas buffalo constitude 66% of a lions diet.

Both cases were accounted and photographed by park officials. Since you're talking about this account made by some hunter, there must be more than one reported case of tigers killing elephants. Asian elephants are far smaller and far less agressive than African Elephants this is a fact, so your attempts to belittle a lion by saying 'there are reports (albeit questionable and shady reports) of single tigers killing elephants' is nonesense because it's not worth the comparison. And your point may stand if tigers regularly hunted guar however this is not the case plus the fact buffalo live in herds of 200 and are quoted as being the most dangerous animal.

I'm sure gaurs do kill tigers, am not denying that, but your claim that there are more cases of gaurs killing tigers is false. There are just as many reported cases of tigers killing gaurs. If anything, tigers and gaurs have similar relationship that lions and buffalos do, only in tiger's case, without the numbers to back it up like lions do with their 'pride'.

They could also kill lions just by surrounding them and charging them. Lions routinely die via buffalo horns which can easily impale them.
Simply, the buffalos don't have predator instinct, everything they do is defensive and as soon as the lions turn away, the buffalo "battle formation" evaporates. They only fight if completely cornered.
The lion's predator role is as much due to its mind as its body.

Lions don't routinely die by buffalo horns, actually it is exceedingly rare for a buffalo to kill a lion because lions are far too quick and agile.
They could kill the lions by surrounding and charging them, and the lioness could kill a rhino using karate... They aren't wired to think that way.
Plus buffalos attack a lot they are the number one killer in Africa for humans.
Buffalos run from lions most of the time because they are unable to fight unless they are very close.
