the las vegas tourism authority just announced that Las Vegas New Year 2010 is going back on the roof :D

because of a fire on the monte carlo roof jan 2008 they moved the new year fireworks here in las vegas last year to the garage parking lots and alot of ppl were disappointed and couldnt see a thing but they announced that the fireworks would be shot from the roof again this year :)

i was there, we looked to the fireworks ad the mirage, and as i can see on this video, the mirage had the weakest fireworks from all ?

iam from holland, (the netherlands) i was there with my famile, we made a trip, we also bin in new york, but the me las vegas was it all the way!

i saw it from Mirage and was my first time on new years eve in Vegas, the st years that i saw from my computer was much better, i think the problem was the fire happen on montecarlo this jan 08, the hotels in vegas has a lot of money so the problem was the security. but this year sucks.

there was nothing of a view from anywere. i was on the main drag and saw nothing. i was not worth the gas to drive there. save yourself time and skip it next year as i will.

you are right about the smoke, why was it hanging so low? that was kinda of weird, from what I remember is was clear night, right? it almost looked like the smoke hit a ceiling or something, you know what I mean? anyway, this is the best video that I have seen yet of the fireworks show, maybe next year they put a news crew out at the airport, great job!

Thank you for the compliment. As I'm learning, my camera makes a lousy video recorder. As for why the smoke hung so low, I'm just guessing here, but I'd say the temperature and where they where going off. (Less wind to push the smoke away.) In the past, the fireworks where launched from the rooftops of the casinos, not street level. To see more of the smoke as it covered the airport, check out my flickr photos. (Same name)
