  • Can believe I went here straight from Kippesoep001's Nightmare House 2 in 9 seconds. Still think Mozart is an amazing composer.

  • OMFG I LOVE MOZART'S MUSIC!!!!!!! I just can't never get enough!!

  • super

  • My Favorite

  • Do I hear a fortepiano serving as continuo? I love it!

  • Thx for uploading this! I'm gonna play Allegro of it next. But not the beautiful violin, Im playing the part of the whole orchestra ;)

  • Excellent!

Im learning this at the moment, and if I could play it like that i would be really happy!! :)

  • Love this rendition of the concerto alot!:D

  • Great!

  • Interesting to hear Mr Biondi interpreting something else than Italian music. Definitely something I'll have a look at. Have they recorded the 5'th concerto as well? Quite a difference from Grumiaux.

  • Agreed.

Did you know, though, that Vivaldi, Il Prete Rosso, was so named becuase his red hair actually came from German descent?

Italian, German, hey, it's like the difference between Minnesota and Wisconsin, except for the language.

The germans kept their passions a bit more reeled in, displaying intracasy rather than raw emotion. as compared to the italians.

A very worthwhile recordig by Europa Galante, very intriguing rendition of old Volfgang.

  • It's still interesting to hear Biondi interpret Mozart. Gives it a different feel. :)

  • I am between 1 and 2...I love them both I have to choose one for my next exams.....

  • I'm not a musicologist, but this feels way too fast to be tasty. Of course it's good! But it's annoyingly rushed in its vibe.

  • Aha of course you're right. It's the Italian in Biondi that we're hearing here. There are very clear cultural distinctions in music even in Classical Music and this debate has been continuing ever since the Baroque Era... hehehe... the debate seemed to have it's origins among the French who then thought that although Italians played like an "avalanche" [of virtuosic cadenzas and improvisations] well it's "an avalanche" ahahaha... :>

  • What debate? The tempo marking is clearly Allegro Moderato. Surely there's no debate over what that means.

  • oh i'm afraid there is. Muffat on his travel to Italy and witnessing Corelli and his orchestra play commented that the Italians play Allegro faster than they do and Adagio/?largo? slower than they do.

...these markings of tempo were standardized later ...yet variations from one country to another still do exist then and even now... as is in Standard Pitch

So Allegro moderato is somewhat "relative."

  • This first concerto by MOzart is in ´´italian style´´. I am very glad to find this recording! Thanks!

  • ur welcome !!! :-)

  • i'm sorry but what the hell is with the opening note!!!!

  • Is Fabio Biondi the soloist?

  • Yes he is.

  • so beautiful!!

  • ah¡... hermoso concerto¡

adoro la música del siglo XVII y XVIII tanto como a mi¡

  • Very pleasant to listen, indeed. But I rather prefer the recording on "period instrument" with Simon Standage/Ancient Music.

  • Yes, Mr. Standage and the AAM are a force in the HIP world. :>

  • Exellente

  • Oh my God^10!

    This is brilliant!

  • great job!
