  • That they ever know the song exists, and covered it, is major kudos to these bowing ladies.

They could have done "Mandy" or "Love To Love You Baby" or "Born In The USA" or "Peace Train" -but picked King Crimson.

    Inspired madness!

  • Don't ya just luv these Japanese girls?

  • Great job! King crimson was all about being unique.

  • big like! :D

  • Sounds a lot better then the Guitar Hero version! :D

  • Fucking awesomeness, LVL: ASIAN.

  • sensacional ........ elas tocam muito adorei !!!!

  • omg....jizzed....i....did...really....

  • wanna hear " I was born to love you " in they album could you ?

  • wooooww beautifulll!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Gotta change my pants.

  • This is Fantastic

  • @SEVFEST

What's so fantastic about it ? The boring arrangement ? The worn-out unisono ? The powerless interpretation ? The charts-hopefulness ? The distorsion of a great song ?

No, this is most horrible muzak, something that every music lover will hate from his very soul ! Rubbish ! Crap !

  • @michaelvoland54 you have NO Imagination or Culture I Love this King Crimson song and this group of musicians did a very nice job I'd like to see you do it better Not a chance..... WHINER !!!

  • thank god i have lived long enough to hear this....

not better, but good (don't complain)

    1freecuba1

  • @1freecuba1 Couldn't have put it better myself.

  • noooo

  • this is truly and utterly fucking awesome.

  • Mr. Goodsense: May I suggest a "slightly" better brand Darling. Groningen

    /watch?v=MiP01Dp63Mk

  • Mrs Goodsense: Tfui...Oh Darling really...you know how I love to drink my tea in the morning. But today it tastes so BLAND. To what brand do these new teabags belong?

    Mr. Goodsense: "Seasons"

Oh man I could go on forever....

  • 21st Century Fembot Crap....

I'm sorry, but...it's askin for it

  • "You can play whole concerts in these 20 by 20 living rooms...Order now and you will receive 2 French caps ABSOLUTELY FREE

  • ... it's a massacre !

  • oh my god, this is too much to handle.

  • It's nice, but far too much is lost in translation.

The imagery provided by the lyrics is very valuable to the song, and the inherit nature of an instrumental performance doesn't allow for such things (obviously). But far more importantly, the instruments themselves, and the technique used in playing them, are unable to convey the original's chaotic atmosphere - by no fault of the musicians themselves, it's simply just not how this song was meant to sound.

  • @RottenMandarinOrange your crazy this is awesome! the original was jus distortion... thats chaotic to you? your silly. this has layers upon layers love it.

  • @vulgarcowpower the distortion gives it a dirty feel and it gives the chaotic feel to it. Everyone likes the original over the covers.

  • @300daysandnights Common! Not everyone likes the original better! only people possesing true taste for authentic playing and who automaticly, and by instinct, avert from anything tasteless like say, hmm, I don't know, a smiling Asian woman wearing a French cap, selling her violin on Youtube with 21st century shcizoid man playing in the BACKGROUND..........would like the original better

In short: Showy Showy Showy makes King Crimson look Dim and not Glowy

  • @1q1o1t1s1a1 don't get your butt sore over the fact that people like the king crimson version better.

  • @300daysandnights Oh no. Im pro-king crimson version. Read my comment again

  • @1q1o1t1s1a1 wow I totally misread it. I'm sorry lol.

  • @vulgarcowpower Layers upon layers? Bullshit! It's only strings! A Violin, Cello and Bass - they all sound the same just at a different octave! The original had more fucking layers! There isn't even a percussion section! I don't care how skilled of a violinist you are, it's impossible to recreate the sounds produced by a percussion set, saxophone, and electric guitar. This rendition is so impossibly bland and lifeless that it is an insult to the original artwork!

  • @RottenMandarinOrange i dunno about it being lifeless cuz now your jus being a dick. the reality is that the original is the best .. always. but the fact is that this is a great cover of a song that in all fairness noones heard. i love it and honestly thats all that matters even if old men like you shit on people who enjoy music this old that will prolly never be heard again... unless its in a new car commercial.or enjoyed by us. and trust. im sure this band does not mind.

  • what the FUCK, this is amazing

  • What would David Cross have commented on this awesome stuff if he had listened to this?

  • The vilolinist with the hat seems to be the only one enjoying this as much as i am.

  • This is absolutely fantastic o_o

  • likelikelikelikelikelikelikelike, only thing this needs is Mike GIles on drums, then perfect :)

  • This is fantastic! This belongs in the next Hitchcock film! He shall return to the sound of this music, and I will prostrate myself before the speakers.

  • This really is a brilliant riff on the original. I just discovered it last night and have listened to it about six times in the last 12 hours. It is so gorgeous that even the sixth time it brought tears to my eyes. I wish I could find out more about this group of women, but info on them seems to be mostly non-existent.

  • When the mYOOoosic's o-verrr,

    Hit the remote

    Hit the re-mote

Hit the re-MOAAAAT! (Seriously, cool beans!)

  • hot, hot, hot. Great job ladies. Thank you for doing this song and positng it

  • the asian one is hot.

  • Cool sound and they're cute.

  • amazing stuff!

  • wow i like this yo

  • Funny how theirs everything from a string quartet version of this song to Black Metal.

  • Do they play out of desire to play, or to please the parents?

  • Freaking wicked

  • Nice.

But I miss the driving and rotaring drum.

just the lead voice is kinda boring.

and the disortion ind sounds way to smothieeee...

  • King Crimson on fine strings; this is epic! Approved!

  • Wow! A bit sludgy but still wow!

  • Did anybody shiver when the violin solo imitated the climbing trill?

  • @CreativeImpulse Man, I shivered all over the whole arrangement.

  • there is a thing that nobody could copy...the fripptronic XD you can did 100 cover, but it's impossible have a sound like Robert Fripp!

  • Horrible ! It's too mellow ! Where's the violence ?

It's as if I was listening to some Andre Rieu...

  • Comment removed

  • Anyone know where I can get the sheet music for this arrangement?

  • This certainly does the original justice. Wonderful stuff.

  • Incrível!! Sensacional !! As Japinhas deram uma aula de música!!

((Translation)) Incredible!! Sensational !! The japanes girls gave us a music lesson!!

I have the original vinyl of King Crimson.

I wish there is a heavy metal and a techno version of this classic rock.

  • this was awesome but to me the part 01:03 to 01:22 is my fave.that melody is just ridiculously mesmerizing.

  • man that kicked ass! i love pretty asian women too. job well done.

  • spettacolari! Viva igli immensi King Crimson

  • OMG that's so sick...I LOVE IT!!!!! AHHHH!!!!!

  • Holy shit, this is like the best cover ever! It's sooooo good

  • I herby offer my body to this band! have your way with me. good by mothera twins..

I am a man of the Seasons!

  • a little less reverb-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b would be nice-ice-ice-ice-ice-ice-ice-ice

  • I think this beats Apocalyptica :D

  • @Hammersmashedaccount did apocalyptica cover this song as well?

  • @Hammersmashedaccount By a mile.

  • way better than that douche Kanye

  • Niiice ! The Refrain sounds like an Asian Battlesong :D Nice version

  • Anyone know where one would find sheet music for this violin cover?

  • this would be interesting to hear this backing the original song

  • FUCK THIS IS INCREDIBLE , ITS AMAZING HOW THE MUSIC OF THIS GUYS TRAVEL TROUGH ALL AROUND THE WORLD

  • Yep, this one blew me away - and I saw the original in Hyde Park 1970.

  • fuck me this is one of the greatest covers ever! excellent!!!!!!!!!!

  • Good stuff.

Always thought the first Crims stuff was Bartok revisited.

To recreate the composition, purely on bowed strings, lacks the brutality of the original... but, it moves along with a purpose.

I could stand being stuck in a lift with these lot!

  • there's something lacking, it sounds...too clean?

  • King Crimson caught in strings. Good effort!

  • I love them - my heart bleeds with joy - my mind is now a toy - sweetness inters my head - now I can die and knowing what heaven sounds like - thanks

  • where can one buy this music or video? can't find it on amazon.

  • this is not a good cover because lack of schiziod and madness

  • you lot kill me disecting the performance down to bow strokes,

FFS its a prety good rendition of the origional its never ment to be the same,

hardly supermarket music, but if you love the origional you can sure appreciate the effort thats gone into htis production

concidering this is string only its fuckin OUTSTANDING

  • No depth, little resonance. Over all, a fairly un-inspiring performance. They did a pretty good job of taking a great song and sanitizing it so you could play it over the intercom in most grocery stores though. I suppose if that was their intent bravo. However, they missed several of the intresting bits of inter instrument play the origonal had, as well as all the energy.

  • @Polybun Let me know what grocery store plays this over the intercom, so I can start shopping there!

  • Really cool, but it lacks the toxic edge of the original. Still pretty cool though.

  • around 3.35 they really struggled with the demisemiquavers

  • FANFUCKINGTABULOUS

  • Classical is good but give me vocals!

  • ta da dada da da daaa da da!! I like it very much

  • Comment removed

  • @ninyae

I have no problem with them doing the song, I just don't think it is done very well transcription wise. I think whomever transcribed this for them made the same fatal mistake as many do by not understanding that a string ensemble cannot mimic a rock band. The piece needs to be rewritten for a string ensemble for it to sound good.

  • must be played by apocaliptica , they will do it with the rigth level of violence.

  • must be played by apocaliptica , they will do it will the rigth level of violence.

  • KICK ASS!!! Love it!! I'm a big King Crimson fan and this is just sexy as heck!

    xoxoxo

    - Jess

  • What a strikingly dull cover, where's the anger? Where's the violence? Where are the innocents raped with napalm fire! These ladies have turned a powerful, aggressive protest song into a boring pseudo-classical drone.

  • @JIMJIM5523 wow

  • @JIMJIM5523 oh please........... i bet you stand on street corners in your goth gear frightening old ladies

  • @grahamellis1 Actually I tend to sit in concert halls in my suit and bow tie playing them cello sonatas, or when I'm not doing that I'm studying music. ;-)

  • It doesn't feel it the same way :( ...i prefer the original one

  • I forgot the saxo, but yeah, I guess you can get my point even without that litle mistake of mine

  • I love classical music. I love rock. But this, seriously ? this song was made for the electric guitar, bass, drums, and distorted vocals. Only the rythm is okay in this vid...

  • all sexy asian ladies...and VERY talented! hahahaha!

  • The origianl is brilliant. This is well done and a complement to King Crimson.

  • awesome. they remind me of a goth act ... it was three chicks playing cellos and wearing corsetts ... i forget who they were ...

  • @paragshah2112 Rasputina

  • Yikes. They've destroyed classical performance AND classic rock all in one go. Just... yikes.

  • What is up with Asians covering this song all the time anyway?

  • @thevagrant88

so why not??? is it a white song??

  • Guys, I confess I have a mix feeling about this clip. See it for yourself.

  • You gotta be fucking kidding me. Way to make a mockery of a classic Humanity.

  • @Haqster What do you mean mockery, this captures the original great. Granted I think violin fits really well with Crimson ("Larks" is probably my favorite album my them) but the way they attack the sound fits perfectly.

  • lol the two top rated comments contradict each other

  • a nice piece of music is a nice piece of music. It seems sensible to suppose that slavish imitation of an original work would serve little purpose, since an MP3 player could do the same. Interpretation is what a musician brings to a piece; the ladies did just that.

  • I can just imagine a scene in hich someone is being killed in slow-mo when I hear this rendition...

    Awesome? :P

  • OUTSTANDING!! The members of King Crimson would be proud! That's the way you do someone else's music........too many artists just try and do a copy cat version ...........these women took this great song and put a spin on it that's never been heard. Bravo!!

  • @funkydrummer14 I agree. It's like Bryan Ferry's comment about his covers of other people's songs. They are interpretations. What is the point of doing a cover if you are going to make it the same as the original?

  • @funkydrummer14

    yep this is awesome

  • @funkydrummer14 you dont knowif King Crimsom like this one. Maybe yes maybe not. Can not take that for granted

  • @funkydrummer14 I agree 100 percent. Most other covers of this track are just awful. (April Wine's is good)

My life changed after I bought this album. I spent a year trying to duplicate the drumming. I had to take jazz lessons to do it. Oddly it sounds great without any drumming at all.

Word of caution though: do not drop acid & listen to the original cut. It will take you to a place that you may not want to go. I did that in 1969 & never did quite come home.

  • fantastic version of a fantastic song ! by the way, I'm italian, and in my opinion "in the court ..." was THE album that affected italian progressive rock in the seventies .

  • @revzob italian prog is awesome, but to be honest i think emerson lake and palmer had a lot to do with that too for exAmple on banco del mutuo socorso, but i think italian prog has its own style

  • @Wayavas1337 thanks for your nice comments about italian prog, but I have to disagree: ELP (I love them too)went big in Italy AFTER italian prog exploded. they had an influence on our bands, but later and not so much.

Vittorio Nocenzi of Banco del Mutuo Soccorso wrote tunes as "metamorfosi" before ELP was born. for suggestions about italian progressive & other stuff take a look at my channel. ciao ! david (revzob)

  • @revzob well your channel is very good, i remember that i got introduced into italian prog by a teacher i had on high school, he let me borrow a tape of a band called il paese dei balochi, u know them?

  • they look like sailer mars!

  • sounds kinda chinese :L

  • ANY SLOWER!! MY HEART WOULD STOP BEATING , WHAT IS THIS?? A FUNERAL?

  • I feel like I just died and now I'm in a bar in heaven. Everyone is this bar is a hot Asian chick and they are all totally rocking out on violins and cellos. Awesome!

  • It's so plastic and without emotion. It is well-played, but it lack's the sparkle, which makes this song so epic. Probably it is because those chicks don't listen to King Crimson, they just made a cover. For them it is just a song, when it suppose to be THE song.

  • @Terioth How do you know that they don't listen to King Crimson? You are making assumptions. I don't see how this song is plastic since it gives me a feeling of dread like the original song, but that's just my opinion.

  • oh my god... a string quintet! I used to love an all string band, but I've come to realize the sound can be a little limited. But, this cover is enjoyable nonetheless!

interesting that they would call themselves "Seasons" when everyone knows that there are only 4 seasons in a year.

  • @ImOnWelfare Seasons = 4 seasons?

  • Blood rack barbed wire

    Polititians' funeral pyre

    Innocents raped with napalm fire

    Twenty first century schizoid man.

This mellow the songs lyrics a bit. :)

  • i knew one day they'd combine violin and cello with King Crimson and it'd be awesome.

i'm glad i was right. this is awesome and know i want to learn this on my cello!

  • The 72 not likes should stop listening to ANY music. They are incapable of doing so anyway.

  • I love the variation on the guitar solo from 2:25 onwards...

  • @DanFTF

    Fail.

    King Crimson is best

  • @mrtame How did they fail? And it's not like anyone is arguing about which is better.

  • This is awesome. I could never do this and more than likely never try. That's i stick with woodwinds.

  • BUENA INTERPRETACIÓN.....EXCELENTE..!!!

  • The 71 people who disliked this video were deaf people that were angry because they couldn't listen to this awesome version.

  • I like this version...

  • King Crimson, Excellent violin 21st Century Schoizid Man instrumental, these women rock! ~ thank you 20080206

  • pure talentttt, this is amaziing .

  • 荘厳!

  • this one is better than Ozzy's version hahaha

  • @MatusCorp hahaha sadly its true.

  • It's nice to find that another generation finds merit in Fripp's work. My, personal, take on this interpretation is that it's far too slow....violin has been used to play horrors such as la cucurillo (bad spelling of 'the swallow') so no excuses for sore fingers! Anyway, Sherlock Holmes had no trouble playing fast; even after a laudenum thick-shake or two! PT

  • @its8ace I'm thinking they wanted to play the song slow on purpose. I like it slowed down because it sounds more epic to me. :D

  • Beats kanye wests take on the song.

  • @jacksonrevello

kayne west? who's he....and has he done a remake of 21st century schizoid man

  • @hiddenbutdeadly

He's a mainstream rapper who sampled the song for his new single.

  • @hiddenbutdeadly havent heard of him? best keep it that way. NOTHING compared to King Crimson

  • These violin chicks make me wanna do the 21 schizoid man...they're hot

  • I dont get it with the haters. It's not like they changed the song. They had the song perfectly in it's shape, and it's a full violin cover. Sounds really nice to me. It's not a matter of how "heavy" it originally was, the soul of the song was present, at least to me it was.

  • Not only are they hot, the song is perfectly covered. 5.

  • sounds too cute for 21st century schizoid man, I don't think Fripp would like this

  • @progtakcular He might like it. :D

  • que buenas estan las ponjas

  • incredible... super

  • @shikami42 you must be some sort of retard...once a songs made, its never to be performed again by anybody except the original artists in no way other than the original? youre an idiot, go fuck yourself

  • KING CRIMSON tribute band THE GREAT DECEIVERS are playing on Saturday, July 17th, 2010 @ the Good Hurt club in West Los Angeles!!! Find them on myspace and/or Facebook to send them your name and email address to get in for FREE!!!

  • 21st century schizoid man stuck in tar covered with sugar...what a friggin nightmare

  • @Shikami42 Yes, I'd rather listen to the original or an accurate cover, but you've got to hand it these people - they've taken a classic number, reworked it with a totally original sound and performed it flawlessly. Not a nightmare, just not to your taste.

  • @scottytrotter

well if you purposefully destroy the soul of a song you might as well execute it perfectly. its rape nevertheless.

  • like POKÉMON

  • i have they CD wowgood

  • kanye west power sampled this for the song POWER.it is the powerfulest record out
