wasnt the wallpaper on the insides of the M1's also different from the M3 cars? all in all there really isnt much of a difference between the 2 of them. outside design is more or less the same and the inner design is the same- same seats, windows, lights. as long as they keep the remaining M3 trains they have left for the next 10 or so years im a happy camper
@ENTERTAINMENT35 I know that the M3s have the state seal printed on the walls, and I'm pretty sure that the M1s had plain beige walls. I will be very sad if they ever get rid of the old cars. As I'm writing this, I hear the horn of a C3 out my window! I don't mind the C3s nearly as much as I mind M7s. I know that M7s are decent trains, but I like everything about M3s.
That's the second time that they will destroy or cover up a rail facility for a sports arena I think it should be prevented they allready destroyed the magnificent Penn Station
Dont quote me on this: but I'm hearing that the Barclay's Arena now might not happen and the Nets may be forced to move to Newark instead. Just a rumor, but who knows!

A few M1s are left on MNRR for reserve purposes, however all LIRR M1s are retired and about 95% of them have been scrapped.

Oh i must have mistaken the M3's for M1's
jetsdad100 2 years ago
Hey man, that's not too hard to do. Remember, M1 cab windows open in an up/down manner, while M3 cab windows open sideways.

@RailFanTV LIRR should still be using the M1's just like MNRR does.

That truly was a beauty. I only wish I had been on the diesel farewells they did in the 90's.
