  • Please stop referencing the harmless carbon dioxide figures.

  • The S-Class, 7 series, LS, and A8 are all awesome vehicles.

  • @VIRAJ818 An Audi is a VW. A Lexus a Toyota. A Mercedes is always a Mercedes and a BMW is always a BMW. There's a reason Audi A8 doesn't sell well. Most Americans can't justify spending over $60k (let alone $80k) on an Audi.

  • @TurboFuss1 You know exactly nothing. You talk as if you actually know facts, but don't, and base everything off pure opinions. If it's a fact, show everyone the proof. Otherwise, you're just a MB fanboy. IN case you didn't know, Audi sold more cars than Mercedes in 2011! Oh, wait, why would your biased mind know that? Audi has had the highest rate of growth in the past 2 years. Of all new buyers, the majority of them were one's who were either past BMW or Mercedes owners.

  • @iggibars Umm, maybe because Audi is CHEAPER. Hyundai sells more cars than Mercedes because more people can afford them! Basic logic. Also I provided a good example using the A8.

  • @TurboFuss1, Cheaper? You clearly know jack about this either. You talk about cheap as if it's substantial, when in fact, it's just a better of having a lower starting point while giving you more options. It still goes against your original statement, but I guess you now know you are wrong, and are baselessly claiming that it has sales because it's "cheap." The average A8 sold in 2012 has an MSRP of $93k. That means people are loading options on, and clearly avoiding the S-class!

  • @TurboFuss1 And no, your A8 claim is wrong, because you clearly show that you don't know what the fuck you're talking about. You are just spewing BS from your mouth. People ARE buying the A8, which actually has an MSRP of 80k, and loading it up to an average MRSP transaction of $93K...again, you don't know what the fuck you are talking about.

  • @iggibars You are going off topic. All I said was Audi is a lower standard than Mercedes and BMW. I provided the example that the 7-Series and S-Class outsell the A8 even though they both cost more. They outsell because people don't want to pay over $65k for an Audi. So yes, some do buy A8s, but more buy S-Class and 7-Series. In Febuary, BMW sold 21,204 cars, Mercedes sold 18,080, and Audi sold 8,531. At the end of the day, an Audi is really a VW. I'm done arguing with kids like you.

  • @TurboFuss1 , Again, you can't stand to argue against someone that actually know something, and you keep on talking with your biased bs ways. That's a lot coming out of a 27 year old moron! You keep on backing out of everything you originally say. How pathetic!

  • you guys always make the cars look ugly.

  • i agree. Lexus- be more bold the next time around. You guys know what you're doing.

  • i will take the 2008 Lexus Ls460L AWD over any ither luxury sedan

  • this guy has beent there since 1990

  • HOLY @#^% 0-60 in 6

  • The braking worries me here...

  • How old is John Davis now? OMG!

  • @ianater900 never get old

  • If i was leasing i would get Mercedes S class or BMW 7 series, but to buy hands down the Lexus LS..... Seen this slammed with 22's and kit, very nice.

  • @Section7G4 22"....what are u trying to do, turn it into a ricer now

  • Lexus should add as "S" emblem after the LS 460 for this model.

  • @justanotheraccounton I was thinking the same thing

  • lexus ls, sport..... the end is near..... LOL

  • lexus ls, sport..... the end is near.....

  • want this car soo fucking bad

  • According to JD Power, the LS430 has had the fewest problems for any model by any make in the history of JD Power's ratings.

  • @buckg23 I'm an S-Class buff, but the 2004-06 LS430 and 2007+ LS460's are superb vehicles.

  • the engine bay looks so neat and clean (",)

  • I have this car and I love it. I had the Mercedes s55 AMG and this is better.

  • The Only lexus buy ill be because of it size But I stil love lexus

  • lexus you done it again.

  • Well, Lexus LS is still luxury first and foremost, compared to German titans BMW and Benz. Still, the two tone leather and shift paddles of the sport model do give it an edgier personality. And don't forget that Toyota reliability...

  • my dear Lexie, by the looks of things mr. Merc S-class AMG will break you into pieces...

  • @silverbullet1979 lmfao funny but in the long run that benz is probably gonna breakdown more ofthen than the ls

  • it look like the classic i think is the 2000 moddern i dont know but i seen the old moddern one

  • OMG!!! THE ENGINE IS COMPLETLY CLOAKED!!! GODDAMN THESE PLASTIC COVERS!!!

  • It's obvious Toyota quality has fallen in the past few years (complaints of misaligned panels, inconsistent gaps and some unnerving recall problems). I just hope it doesn't make it's way to Lexus, what a beautiful car.

  • The styling looks like a camry on steroids

  • This sedan is too slow for a V8 sports sedan. If you want a performance lexus, buy the vastly cheaper IS-F. It has a more powerful V8, same gearbox, and is a real sports sedan.

  • @DualofChaos The LS and IS-F are entirely different models. The IS-F is a small car with a bone-jarring ride; no one wants to ride for long in that small back seat. The LS is meant to carry a lot of people in it in a smooth, comfortable manner and it had a large trunk to carry all their stuff. Your comparison is like stating buy a Mercedes two seater because it's peformance is much sharper than an S class.

  • this looks like a last generation Toyota Camry

  • @rch1jr i was thinking that the whole time...i was like this is just a giant toyota camry

  • This guy doesn't even know about cars, he is a poor S.Korean-American guy who is writing rubbish and no sense around youtube at every Japanese Company's video. Sorry for my English...

Este tío no sabe ni qué es un coche, es un obsesionado corrupto por un sistema educativo que enseña 'odio' a niños y no para de escribir basura en contra de empresas Japonesas.

  • What an overprice piece of shit.

  • beatiful car if it didn't look like an oversized mix of a avalon and camry...sorry but toyota really has trouble making FUN TO DRIVE, sporty agressive cars...it's too bad!

  • hey what happend to the usual intro "welcome to motorweek, were glad to have you with us" lol............

  • This is still a POS toyota!!

  • @shoelover10 This series is one of the most recognized and has won the most JD Power awards even though Lexus has hasn't existed as long as its direct competition. So if this shit then the everything else is less then shit, so your not helping whatever brand you favor.

  • @SpikeRazzor First, learn how to talk in English because your sentence structure is lacking. Next, I don't care how many awards they have won, it's my opinion that all Toyotas are a pos. That's my opinion and I have a right to feel like that. I like things that appeal to me, not according it's award winning status.

  • @shoelover10 Your forgot to capitalize Toyota in the first post you're initial post and POS is not a real word just a slang acronym. Also, I believe the correct wording would be "learn to speak in English" so don't even try that shit with me if you're not going to fully commit and just Nazi to seem more intelligent over the internet.

I'm not looking to discuss further with you if you just want to pull the "Well its my opinion" line, but I feel opinions should be based on personal experience.

  • @SpikeRazzorI didn' t forget to capitalize the T, even if it is a proper name. And just what experience do you have. I will admit I don't other than some family and friends with various models. However, I still hate anything that toyota builds, period! I also believe my initial comment was correct and yours wasn't. Just what the hell do you mean by just Nazi to seem more intelligent? Your sentence structure was wrong and just pointed that out. Deal with it!

  • @shoelover10 You both have shit grammar skills. Also, Toyota makes excellent cars.

  • @idontcare80 Your grammar isn't any better! Toyota's quality has gone downhill and they rely on too many kool-aid drinker like you to keep going. If they were the last automotive company in the world, I would rather walk than give them my money!

  • @shoelover10 I've never owned a Toyota and probably never will, the Hondas I've driven all my life have been far too reliable for me to consider any other brand. My experience with the Toyota brand is limited to the cars some of my family members have owned, all of those vehicles have been nearly flawless. Hell, my brother's girlfriend has an early '90s Camry with almost 300,000 miles on it and it's still a very nice car.

  • @idontcare80 I have a friend who owned an 87 4 Runner years ago and the engine blew in it even with regular maintenance I believe. Toyota is the one brand that I hate and will never own one, even if given to me. I'm a GM fan and currently own a 2000 Grand Prix GTP with over 207,000 miles. The tranny has been replaced, but the engine is all original with simple maintenance. I also have a 06 Altima, S, but I prefer to drive the GP over the Altima, despite the GP needs some attention.

  • @shoelover10 and @idontcare80

    please shut up.

    thank you.

  • @xX1drummer1Xx Please go to hell!! It's a free country that we can still express our opinions. Thank you.

  • @shoelover10 you don't mean that.

you have freedom of speech, but not freedom to spam up a comment section where others could benefit from having intelligent conversation that could potentially help others. your arguing is doing nothing of the sort.

if you guys really want to have your bothersome argument, do everyone else a favor and send each other personal messages. you two are arguing about grammar on a car review. i'm sorry, but you cannot justify that.

  • @xX1drummer1Xx Why don't you simply leave it alone and shut up!!! That conversation had pretty much ended and you have to continue to add your few cents worth. As for this review being a benefit to others, one review should never be the sole basis to make such a purchase. Also, purchasing a vehicle is an emotional event for some people like myself.

  • @shoelover10 sure thing buddy so if you are the mature one here you will not reply to this comment. only an immature one would want to have the last word. so let me be immature eh? i bet you wont.

  • @shoelover10 I've owned two 1st gen LS models, I bought this car intentionally after studying it and figured this was probably the best car I could get for the 2k I had to spend. I did end up selling it because the car is beyond solid, making it hard to find parts besides dealerships. I did come across a two parts outs, but they didn't like long for the reasons I just wrote. Second one I bought is close to mind condition and has everything working after 19 year, I do have some recent pictures.

  • that is a hideous color

  • I love this car! But I wouldn't get the sport trim. I'm happy with my 07 es as well

  • Just like how American car companies neglected on building accomodating interiors for decades how come the upscale Asian car companies neglect on building elegant exteriors like their German competition?

  • When you have 2 cars, and this is your daily, its pretty damn nice, sitting in traffic, totally silent, smooth ride, you don't want hard suspension or super direct steering you want this, sports car is car #2, if you haven't driven an LS then you won't understand the point of these cars and why they are so superb

  • This car is not hot.

  • Big ball of shite

  • wow 74k? I can think of lots of other sedans I'd rather have

  • Boring car for boring people

  • Weak facsimile of a German sport sedan

  • this car isnt pretty at all...

  • The transmission in the Sport model is the same one thats in the IS-F, it locks the torque converter in gears 2-8 in the sport mode; thats why this car has "the most effective shift paddles ever"

I'm shocked you guys didn't know this since you're automotive journalists and all....

  • Ugly !! Buy a Mercedes !

  • why is there a hood under the hood??

  • @sidthekid2009 Yeah that looks weird nothing pretty about that!

  • @sidthekid2009 Yo dawg...

  • Holly plastic engine cover batman!

  • @seroyer2 I would have to agree on the plastic....For almost 75k It is not worth it. Lose all the extra plastic to hide problems and leaks and the car may drop to under 25k..Lexus is nice but not the price...

  • @sylverjim LOL to hide problems and leaks.

First off Lexus isn't known for having many problems, after all they probably have the best track record out there when it comes to reliability and durability, especially the LS.

Second the plastic is not there for looks, it is actually there for thermal and acoustic purposes.

Thirdly, have you only looked at a Lexus engine, or did you just miss about every other car manufacture out there that is doing the same thing these days?

  • @lexluthor400 First of all, all automakers have there problems. I made that comment because my friend has an ls430 and it has been nothing but problems. My car also has quite a bit of plastic and yes for noise reduction, but not as much as that. He has had some of the plastic melt to the engine and cause electric issues. They had to replace the engine because of the large amount of plastic that fused to the engine. That was at 8500 miles... find something else to do besides make comments retard!

  • @sylverjim I find your story a bit of an exaggeration, if not flat out a lie. The car itself was more than likely to have been thoroughly tested in both cold and hot climates.

My 1998 LS400 also has a large plastic engine cover and even after 12 years it has not even warped or cracked or melted. Not only that but I live in Sacramento valley which is known to have some hot summers and I have never had any problems sitting in 105 degree heat with the a/c on in traffic for more than an hour.

  • @lexluthor400 Good for you that you have not had any problems...Any person with common sense would know that every car is not the same. Two ppl can get the same car and have the same good luck or the different.... The problem that a friend had was a defect...Sounds like the same problem you are having with your lack of understanding things. your a waste of my time for any other replies and can't respect ppls comments that you just can't read and let it be....Fucking retard!!!

  • @sylverjim Haha LOL at how defensive you suddenly became!

Looks like I really pointed out the BS in your story, and now your pissed. Its okay though, maybe someday you'll learn that just because your behind a keyboard, doesn't mean that whatever you say people will believe.

So next time you decide to exaggerate a problem, remember there are those of us out here that can smell BS from a mile away.

Next time I just hope you don't get so defensive.

  • @lexluthor400 YOu need to face reality that all automakers have there problems. Lexus is not all that. They started out making them by replacing the emblems off toyota back then and then branched out of state. even though different it is still a shit toyota period!!!!!!!! over priced and over rated....

  • @sylverjim I never said Lexus didn't have some problems, however, they are quick to fix any problems, more so than most manufactures.

You should also know that the Tahara plant in Japan where they make the LS, GS, and IS, has won numerous international awards for the level of consistency in their manufacturing. The Tahara plant also won an award for "fewest manufacturing defects" out of ANY manufacturing plant in the WORLD.

Do some research on the Tahara Plant, and see how others compare.

  • @sylverjim You need to face the reality that Lexus, regardless of "badge", is still a better made and a more quality car than anything from other "premium" manufactures like BMW or Mercedes.

If your are going to go on arguing about how Lexus is just Toyota, then you sir are a ignorant fool. Regardless of badge: A good car is a good car. Now get over it, and for please stop posting exaggerated stories on youtube about the quality of Lexus. You sound like a fool!

  • @lexluthor400 I have heard about the plant in Japan, but what you know is what is said to the public and forget about awards. I am sure that there are a few things that is kept out of the media. That also goes for any other automaker. Why are you so hard up on Lexus? You sound like a fool who just spends all your time searching stuff on lexus on the internet. I can't disclose the website to hear the cover ups. my last post of it was removed. This is not only about lexus, but other automakers..

  • @seroyer2 thats why its so quiet!

  • "Float like a butterfly and sting like a beemer"...Nice.

  • Go take a look at the new Jag XJ, this car and all other competitors are utter crap next to the XJ.

It obliterates, Lexus, BMW and Mercedes, completely.

    I know, I own an S...for now...

  • @venom5809 Have you ever seen Jaguars reliability record? Thought so.

  • @sdlausen

How the hell do you ask a question and then answer it for someone else?

My family has had several jags and they have been just fine.

My neighbor has 3 right now and they are doing just fine.

Like I said, I have an S, and it is not that great.

Jag comes with a full warranty that covers everything, oil changes, brakes, everything, so it is not really a problem.

By the way check out JD Power, they are ranked quite well.

  • @venom5809 Sorry man, I trust consumer reports and recall logs. Jaguar has a long history of being unreliable. Take the new XF for example, there is already a list of problems afflicting the car. There are many many articles on autoblog and jalopnik to prove this so there is no point in your arguing. They might be pretty and built with nice interior materials, but they are undeniably unreliable.

Google "jaguar xf reliability problems" if you don't believe.

  • lol LEXUS cabt sport for chit!

  • Lexus LS-460 Sport

    loooooooooooooool

  • Nice engine bay... XD

  • those wheels need some spacers, they don't fit the wheel wells very well.

  • The interior looks good, but I still think overall it looks like an over sized Camry. Lexus could have done much better on the braking and ride performance especially for that price.

  • @StuinthaHouse The ride is very good, but the handling (body roll) is what is lacking.

  • I guess Subaru and Volvo used transformer technology to transform in a Lexus?

  • @TheVtieg6 They have some very advanced tech...

  • so an RT Subaru Outback vs Volvo = Lexus ...

  • this engin bay is stupid on the Lexus... why would some 1 do that

  • @13slot28 I agree to service it you have to take all that plastic crap off.

  • wrong title
