  • dave is yummy

  • 1:53-2:36 The recording of this performence

  • how i wish ....how i wish they are here

  • Bbe better with Syd but there you go...

  • Great video, historical, really!

They were decades ahead, as well as other bands like Yes, Genesis...

  • I remember in the 60's seeing Pink Floyd along with The Nice. (Keith Emerson)

  • Nobody seen The Pink Floyd coming, they conquered the world after dark Side Of The Moon and took psychedelic rock to the highest never before imagined! Back in the 60's nobody would have guessed Pink Floyd would be along side with The Beatles as having some of the all time best selling (and ONGOING) best selling catalog albums into the 70's, 80's, 90's, and 2000's.

  • Great sounds, myself born in ;62, but heard these lads well before ten. Had a great affect on my present obtuse mind.

  • How come no one points out how sweet Nick Mason's drumming is?!?

  • Where's Barrett? :'(

  • @KaGribeiro Even though Syd still played guitar on this track in the studio - the continuous, one note guitar phrase is Syd's - this clip was probably filmed sometime after march/april 1968, right after Barrett 'left' the band.

  • @egyptianminor

lsd, like streets drugs now, can be dodgy, lacks quality control, as Syd and Green from Albatross and Fleetwood Mac found - sent them to the othere side, permanantly.

    watch?v=srXfo0tKmtI

    Play, if you want.

  • Shut up and enjoy the kazoo.

  • @DasSalamander94

false, this song was recorded in 1968. if you new the floyd you'd know that the vast majority of songs that they recorded in the late 60's were songs they had been performing for years

  • Whoa, just too cool!

  • how is this rare when its on you tube?

  • look gilmour!!!

  • it's not the real video. look at 00:16! Roger left handed? =/

  • @GeorgeRingoGirl that's Davey, and it looks that way because he's being recorded from the front

  • @sasasayakuza no...i mean, in the background you can see Roger...being left-handed...

  • @GeorgeRingoGirl ohh you're right... now that's weird..

  • @GeorgeRingoGirl Nothing strange here, there's a large mirror. At 2:23 you can clearly see the drummer reflected in it.

  • @UnityExplorer yeah I supposed that, but i couldn't find the bloody mirror

  • title of the song??

  • @GeorgeRingoGirl Corporal Clegg

  • This video shows Gilmour's voice before acid hauahuhauhau

  • man gilly was rock en that kazoo

  • I use to think boy Pink Floyd really started out crappy but got so good starting with Echos but really its because Syd left and Gilmour became more of a lead, Syd was innovative and came up with the awesome name, but really, it was Gilmour, Waters mosltly that made them sublime and sorry...no Gilmour, no Pink Floyd.

  • @1980MF1980 Thats your opinion. In my opinion Pink Floyd where 2 great bands. The first version with Syd Barret were amazing (and possibly my favourite). His compositions had a classic medieval English feel to them that was lost once he left the band. peace.

  • @1980MF1980 I agree that without Gilmour, they would have went nowhere in the 70's but without Syd to make their name in the 60's, I doubt they would have gained fame. They sucked after Syd left for quite awhile imho.

  • Those crazy hippies will never amount to anything! :)

  • I like this quite a lot. I do think I would have liked a bit of flange or a touch of wah on the kazzoo whistle but what we have here will do nicely.

  • wright kinda does look like syd barret a little bit. david gilmour definately beats syd in my opinion. i really really really hate syd barrets music, sorry to say. this song isnt even my style really, its too...60s british.

  • LOL, its like music for a children party

  • Never heard this version before, seems it is edited as they must have considered it for a single. It had always been a favorite of mine from the LP. Catchy tune and very entertaining video. Despite Syd's departure, I feel that songs like these were close to being on a par with Floyd's first three Barrett penned singles.

  • *_______*

  • RICHARD you are the best :' )

  • This is the "recorded version", they are lip synching..

  • What's the name of this song? I'm searching decades for the lp!

  • @anisuthideyakoindu Corporal Clegg is the song's title. Saucerful of Secrets is the album.

  • Try this "if" new version! It's a tribute, not a copy! ... youtube.com/watch?v=Kdy5O6whNsc

  • I read somewhere that on the recorded version it is actually Nick Mason who sings the lines "Dear oh dear...."

  • Corporel Glegg ♥♥

  • groovy !!!!

  • The begining of water's war rants :O who could have guessed that this would eventually lead to the final cut. Aswell i think this would be a good song to sing if you see nick clegg since he's just a corporal really :P

  • An R, Waters production.

  • GOD DAMN BEUTIFUL SONG NEVER HEARTD IT BEFORE AND I'M A FLOYD LOVER

  • Gilmour hated this song but I love it.

  • -.- david fail, Pink Floyd is Syd Barrett

  • @saimerec how??

  • I miss syd.

  • in orange red and blue it founded in the zoo

  • This song was wayyyyyyyy ahead of it's time.

  • @Mlwtca No, this song was it's time - they sure don't make great music like THIS any more !!

  • ¿Como se llama esta cancion de Pink Floyd?

What is the name of this song by Pink Floyd?

  • @MrCrisDav: Corporal Clegg

    1968

  • syd ja nao fazia parte da banda ...mas a musica ,arranjos e principalmente estilo.....tudo dele

  • Nicks about the only one fron the band who never really looks any different over the years

  • Syd's voice is there allllright!!

But he was already long gone

  • @sun6moon9 Nah dude. This is definitely the studio version, and the singers on there are Gilmour, Wright and Mason. Barrett had left Floyd (and planet Earth, for that matter) by then. The only song he did on that album was Jugband Blues.

  • I hate people who ask we enjoy their videos. Fuck Youtube

  • @Walruson calm yo tits.

  • 1960????????? ahahahahahah idiot 1966!

  • @nedo04 He was saying its in the 60s you retard and this is 1968 you fucking idiot in 1966 this hadn't even been written yet!

  • @nedo04 1967

  • Comment removed

  • @jootube10 It looks like a slide whistel

  • "the conservative Belgians", well they had the Jazz Bilsen fests (1965 onwards) where almost all the prog rockers were present in a very early period. It was more important than Pinkpop. Roundabouts 1980, the Fest was being thoroughly destroyed by the limey Hell Angels and it never recovered from that ...

  • Nasci em época errada, queria sentir o gosto de ouvir um disco inédito do Pink Floyd!

  • hahaha holy fuck , i love it !!!!!! how deep did we have to dig to get this man?

  • dayum i love pink floyd so muchh.

  • Waffles and beer! A horrid combination! I think they eat fried potatoes with beer.

  • They show do this song now. They still could do it.

  • @pictureisup1 Who is "They"?!

  • My English ignorant friend, we rose from the mud before this you know. Hoegaarden is but a tiny segment of the beers we have, not that caramel piss you drink;) Sorry couldn't let go... It's like me saying you only eat fish & chips and drink sewage with no foam on it with it.

  • dair all so out of it day have no idea how bad day sound but i still love em

  • Pink floyd playing Duarangense.

  • Syd played on the recording

  • @theonlyantony No he didn't. The only track from Saucerful of Secrets that Syd plays on are Jugband Blues and Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun. I only know this because I too thought he played on Corporal Clegg but later read that he didn't.

  • @KennethKaniffFromCT Syd played guitar also on Remember a Day...

  • @SamTalmadge ...Ha. Some would argue that never changed. But yeah, some of their early work was experimental, so it stands to reason that it wasn't perfect.

  • Fantastico aí eles já diziam para que vinham.

  • Turrible

  • this is the definition of awesome.

  • inside album :saucerfull of secrets, genialllllllllllll¡¡¡¡¡

  • Syd.

    He was long gone.

    long long long gone.

    He was long gone.

    the bigger they come.

The larger his hands held no one understands why so long he was gone.

  • NICK CLEGG IS A COMMIE FUCK.

  • SO GREAT!

  • es corporal cleg, esta cancion me da risa jeje

  • unfortunately Syd was the broken cow of the situation!

  • Sorry, but is this how you pretend to continue with Syd's legacy?

  • well in the begining gilmour would cover for syd when he blanked out its clearly sid singing in there to...sonds freaklishly like lennon

  • Sorry, i don't see any mention of Syd Barret here!!

  • 1968 TV midi magasine france

  • I read somewhere that someone stole that Telecaster from Gilmour. Thats when he turned to the Strat. I know things. Aint it cool.

  • haha funniest video description ever

  • David Gilmour def has some white makeup on his face and a haircut sort of like Syd's. Especially embodies him when he starts playing the whistle. Just like the repalcement actor on the famous TV show. You want to keep that character alive in the ensemble don't you? At least for awhile. . .

  • There is a scene in The Floyd doc where Syd and Floyd are doodling at Mike Leonards and the camera zooms in on Syd's face and he looks a lot like Gilmour there. SO they did have a resemblance going on for a bit there.

  • This is David Gilmour!

  • syd

  • how can you look at david and think it's syd?!

    It's just sooo obvious.

  • syd

  • Yes, it's young Dave G but he does look a bit like Syd , oddly enough !

  • I just adore Nick in his glam rock togs

  • Incredible how many people put syd. They´re right, but it´s David Gilmour, under the influence of course

  • syd

  • syd

  • syd ain't there. it's david

  • @deltabilly1 Isn't Syd there too? There was a short time when Syd was still in the band after David joined them. I thought I saw him in a frame or two.

  • @itzed That's true, but this song was on Saucerful of Secrets. Syd was on the album, but not very much. He had pretty much already checked out. He was kicked out of the band before the album was finished. Syd only wrote I think one of the songs. It's possible he played on this, but he didn't sing it, and he is not on the video. Of course, he's not in the video for See Emily play either, which he wrote and sang -- Gilmour mimed his parts.

  • @deltabilly1 the only song Syd played with Dave was set the controls for the heart of the sun, but he is also on Rick's two songs and jugband blues.

  • Comment removed

  • @NYdrone that's rick wright at 2:30. Syd is not in the video.

  • @Elevelin1 my bad. haha.

  • @NYdrone Wrong, The close up is Wright.

  • @NYdrone Looks like both Syd and David were there IMO

  • At least they were shown on Belgian TV in a very early stage of their career. What nationality are you, Mr/Mrs ianabroad?

  • Why are Belgians conservative? Stupid introduction to video.

  • Would you like to be called conservative, -1?

  • this isn't rare

    this is nice

  • Nick looks quite like out of this world, but in focus.

  • yeah hes in that zone

  • Nice way of putting it,
