My own personal opinion is that I like more lively environments, so I prefer New Vegas with all the plants and many decently populated settlements. Fallout 3 had better architecture, but everyone was a weirdo and the Citadel, Rivet City, and Megaton never made you feel very safe.

I don't know; a world feels kinda shallow if their isn't a shifting scale. Sure it can be intense and bleak most of the time, but it's nice to have places of security or nice scenery to appreciate that there's still life. Even this game adds a security blanket by making you travel in a party.
I played this game so much that the characters changed nick to something foul. There is some rude words in wl.exe file as well. Not quite the standard for EA. The most unique aspect of the game is experience points for killing women and children.

It has a connection to Fallout because one of the developers of Wasteland (Brian Fargo) eventually went on to make Fallout possible by joining that game's design team.
Oh, and Fallout was basically just Wasteland 2.0 as the Wiki says, there were so many references, influences, and straight out little "remakes" of areas, events, and characters from Wasteland that it was an obvious spiritual successor.

It's the Gamebryo engine, which is a terrible engine, it's Bethesda, who is a lazy developer, and it's them utilizing the same exact incarnation of the Gamebryo engine that they used for Oblivion, they reskinned the game and resold it.
Yeah, but FoD is a garbage sequel and isn't really that great of a game, which is pretty depressing.
Brian Fargo and his current team (inXile) might be making a Wasteland remake, but I hope to god if they are that it isn't anything like their Bard's Tale remake.

I know this may not be true but i read on wikipeidia that the fallout series is supposed to be related to Wasteland. but Bethsuda was not able to use the name because of copyrights. I know it may not be true but thats what i read.

Fo1-Fo2 and BoS are great RPG's, but how can u blame them for having bad graphics? They were made before the year 2k. I still play hl1, and look at it's graphics. Sure, the graphics look shit nowadays (22 years will do that to a game) but if you actually play it it's still as fun and engrossing as anyone. I'd recommend it to anyone who calls themselves a Fallout fan.

Now now I'm all for bashing Fallout 3, but only when these douche bags say Fallout 1 and 2 suck due to poor graphics. (I thought they were prefectly fine when it was released). Most of these asswipes have only played Fallout 3, say they love "fallout" yet have never played Fallout 1 or 2. Anyway....Fallout 3 was decent if you were looking for a FPS...if you were looking for an in depth RPG with a story and dialogue that would keep you interested begining to end then Fallout 3 is not for you :)

@Exlaxcookies You know,i played all old Fallout games(except for BOS,but it doesn't count) and i still enjoyed Fallout 3.And i wouldn't call it an FPS,shooting is really poorly made and i prefer exploring the dialogues and just walking through the wasteland and meeting all those crazy people that live there...I think they did a good job on bringing back the old Fallout vibe.

It has a connection to Fallout because one of the developers of Wasteland (Brian Fargo) eventually went on to make Fallout possible by joining that game's design team.
Oh, and Fallout was basically just Wasteland 2.0 as the Wiki says, there were so many references, influences, and straight out little "remakes" of areas, events, and characters from Wasteland that it was an obvious spiritual successor.
Still want my own Wasteland sequel or remake though.

No it's pretty gay, and Wizardry 8 was released after GTA III and that's not only better than GTA III but it's also better than Fallout 3 could ever hope to be.
Hell it was better than Fallout 1 and 2 and the entire GTA series combined.
Wizardry 8 was pretty much better than most games in existence.

I stick to my guns on this one and say that Daggerfall was by far the best game ever concieved/Created. I just wish someone would release a comprehensive patch to fix the myriad of bugs and implement an application creator for the game to make up for the scrapped sections.

Fallout 3 lacks the story and most importantly the realism for me.Fuction is one thing but turning the game to a amusing park is an other.Just an example: people are living preaty well (instead of thinking of ways to survive the collect cola colections,chase run away androids,making stupid survival books and so on...) even the bloody begars look well fed and do nothing all day but lie,kaking sun tain.Every thing works computers robots you name it.Combat is child play to.

It's because the game is badly made, even more so than the first two games.
People who've been in the genre for years can simply feel the laziness oozing off of it, that's all there is to it.
It's the Gamebryo engine, which is a terrible engine, it's Bethesda, who is a lazy developer, and it's them utilizing the same exact incarnation of the Gamebryo engine that they used for Oblivion, they reskinned the game and resold it.
And it took them four years.

Brian Fargo and his current team (inXile) might be making a Wasteland remake, but I hope to god if they are that it isn't anything like their Bard's Tale remake.
