  • good song....from the 90.s...to dance on....

  • This is one of the songs that define my early 20s in New York City. Every time I hear it, I am instantly transported back in time. This is a truly awesome song. :-)

  • THIS ONE THE GROUPS THAT TAKES ME BACK IN TIME IT REMINDS OF THE BOURBON PARADE WERE I FOUND A WORLD OF BEAUTY SEXY PEOPLE ROLLED DOWN THE MISSISSIPPI BACK IN THE DAY AND WATCH THE SUN RISE WITH MY OTHER HALF I LOVE THIS SONG SUNscreem YOU CAN SING I LOVE ALL YOURe SONGS THERE SO HARD TO FIND BUT WELL WORTH IT

  • absolutly the best chill out album i ever owned unfortunately i was burgled and lost my copy, but will be getting on discogs and finding a new one after seeing this as it brings back memories of some of the best times ive ever had, absolutly gets my vote for the most groundbreaking album ever!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I watched some of her recent performances and she is still a beautiful lady. Nice to see the 'music industry' didn't ruin her!

  • Wore out the J. Gomez remix of this back in '96 - underground dance radio station on the Sunset Strip in LA would play it constantly - kudos for one of the best dance tracks ever produced.

  • @leftdust Absolutely, the Gomez mix (glad SS official posted the radio version of it here) was, in my opinion, the definitive sunscreem song and mix.

  • Oh the nights I spent dancing to this song! Fire Island, Roxy and everyplace else. Thanks for the memories Sunscreem.

  • @roho10011 I know exactly....wish they were still around!!! Morning party music back when the circuit was awesome!

  • I play this today and people ask me where I got it. Great song!

  • I gave this "Record Of The Year" and "Remix of the Year" in DMA Magazine. My goodness this was a great record. I still get pissed when I think of the lack of commercial success you guys had (In the US anyway). I did everything in my power to promote Sunscream. I reviewed every record you guys did from 1993 to 2002 in DMA Magazine. I played each single for way longer than I played any other band regardless of venue. Both at my resident club and when I traveled. Your music was incredible.

  • I could rave for days about how you created a flawless hybrid of poetic lyrics, unforgettable melodies and a perfect selection of remixers for each song you released. Best of all each one was different, but instantly recognizable as Sunscreem. Rollo's Mix of "Exodus", and K-Klass's Mix of "When" were literally perfect. But Jimmy Gomez's Epic House Mix of "Looking At You" was my all time favorite. Except for being a bitch to mix out of (ha ha), this song was beyond description it was so good

  • Yeah man I paid $20 US in 1998 for this record. Ask anyone and nobody has ever even heard of Sunscreem and their music is fucking epic. Loud remixes of this track along with others were rave anthems that got people out of their seats. I would play my music back in the day and have people ask me, "Where did you get this?"

  • @ohmixmaster You my friend have top-shelf-taste - this is indeed one of the greatest pop dance remixes ever. Soaring stuff that is quite frankly, timeless.

  • @leftdust

Thank you!! A true case of GMTA. I listen to the awful cheese music on the radio that's being passed as "dance music" lately and think how I've got creates of vocal records from the 90's that blow the current stuff out of the water. "Looking At You", "Joy", "Caught In The Middle", "Don't Make Me Wait", "The Silence (Tiesto's remix", and many others were exceptionally good records regardless of format.

  • ........They were innovative and most importantly musical, which is more than I can say for the stuff on the radio now.

  • @ohmixmaster

Who sang Don't Make Me Wait? It's been killing me since 1995 that I cannot find that song as that refrain pops into my head from time to time

  • @RazorFriendly Loveland did that one. Rachel McFarlane was on vocals. An anthem in every sense of the word.

  • @ohmixmaster Thanks ohmixmaster! This song along with Livin' Joy's "Dreamer", and Don't Make me Wait were my favorites to dance to in the summer of 95. I lived in a medium-sized midwest city but whenever those songs came on it made me feel like I was in a club in NYC

  • @RazorFriendly If you don't mid me asking, which midwest city are you located?

  • @ohmixmaster Wichita, Kansas

  • @RazorFriendly Ahhh. Cool.

  • @ohmixmaster I just found the full-on vocal mix of Don't Make Me Wait and that's the one I remember! thanks again for solving this 16 year old mystery for me

  • @RazorFriendly Glad to be of service!

  • @ohmixmaster i miss DMA magazine, that was a great tool back before the internet. or at least before it was so widespread.

    san jose,ca

  • @maineysanjose Glad you liked it. We all put in a lot of time to make DMA go for as long as it did. I had no idea we'd go from a 12-14 page remix service newsletter to what we became. Appreciate you reading it!!

  • Man, I got this album and wore it out back then. One of my favorite bands and song. What ever happend to music like this? Thanks for the music

  • Another excellent song, happy memories

from the best years of my life !!!!! if only we could go back!!!!!!!

  • Yep! So many memories for me, too, I remember those nights dancing, my best friend, the crazy nights, the clubs, wow!

  • I've ALWAYS loved this song - and Sunscreem.

    Such fun, upbeat tunes!

    xoxoxoxo

  • This song took me places I'll never go back to...but what memories....

  • You guys have such beautiful songs that people love and hold close to their hearts. I've been a club dj for over 25 years and Sunscreem is way up there on my all time favorite groups. Love You Guys-

  • I have such awesome memories as well. I was involved in a love triangle (I guess you would call it). Kris was my BF and Brandon was a kid we picked up at a club one night for fun. I was spinning "Looking At You" in my apt when Brandon walked in and started dancing. We had so much fun listening to the song all night. It became "our song" My BF Kris and I ended up parting ways years later but all of us remain very close friends. I'll always remember that summer when I hear Looking At You.

  • Nice to see a vintage Prophet 5 in the video!!

  • "Looking at You" and "When" are two of my top three favorite dance songs from the 90s, (along with He's on the Phone" from St. Entienne.) I own the Looking at You/When CD Single but have never seen the video before.

This video rocks. I love the singer's voice and like how the dudes on the keyboards really seem into it. I think it adds a lot to the song to see it performed as such.

I just wish this type of music got more radio play in the US during the 90s.

  • This was my graduation summer of Highschool(1995), Reminds me of all the fun times and I had at the time. This song is still a weekend night clubbing song for me, as it gets me dancing and pumped up :) Thank you Lucia, Paul and Nick for all the great memories you helped me make back then and the memories I make now with your music!

  • Aw, what a real nice comment :-)

I know Lu & Paul will feel the same when they read your comment.

    Cheers

  • I used to love C89.5 FM. :)
