@LittleRe012 Its because he mixed music with the original music from the ballet :( So it was technically not an ORIGINAl soundtrack by him..unfortunately.
Danced to this piece as a part of my dance recital , now that it's over i simply cannot stop listening to this song. As well as dancing to this piece, i can honestely say this was my favorite number in the whole movie, BlackSwan.
@nhiapthao oh well i saw a comment on this vid that said that it was the swan lake theme played backwards. If thats not true then im pretty sure that it wasnt actually an original song from the ballet
Es increíble el sountrack de esta película, es cautivadora, suave y fuerte ala vez sutil y elogiante, sobresale en todo momento y te lleva a un segundo plano
@Steelidea I believe this didnt qualify for best score since it used musical pieces from swan lake through much of the film, hence it wasnt an 'original' score. But its great all the same
That's weird, might as well be like that for The Social Network's score which contains songs from The Beattles and such. I like them both but still I'm kinda over the fence about the subject.
@Steelidea Well it depends on the actual soundtrack CD. A lot of movies borrow songs from other artists, but they don't include them on the soundtrack (usually original pieces only go on them). In the Black Swan soundtrack, Tchaikovsky excerpts were all over the place, so I guess they decided it wouldn't be fit to win an original score award
in the last seconds of this piece ... as the violin fades away nina is staring into the air and one doesnt know if she is seeing the dance or dreaming, i guess that sets the tone of the movie
this music was performed by daria dmitrieva at 2009 in mie and this movie is just amazing i watched it several times but i still want to watch it..*.* i love it<3

@KittyKatKawai I know! There is no one like Aronofsky. I hope when I become a director I can make films as amazing as this. Probably not though. His films are so complex.
I love the restament on the brass at 2:04. It almost makes you wish the ballet had more brass.
But this is confusing, I wonder how it is possible to include this as "Nina's Dream" in a CD - this is literally the Prologue to the ballet, the whole thing intact, as far as I can tel...
it gets scary when it's at it's epic pointsss!

i want to download this but i'd be too creeped out to hear it on my own haha
yourawizardbitch 16 hours ago
This music is just the Prologue written by Tchaïkovski himself, and the dance of the film is to compare to an interpretation of the Bolschoï ballet.
Please be more curious about the real Swan Lake and the real dancers that interpret it wonderfully...

I like how Clint Mansell uses tracks from Swan Lake, and then just creates a kind of remix.

Nimron12 7 months ago
@Steelidea Black Swan was eliminated from the best original score category because some of the song's were bits and pieces of Tchaikovsky's .
kash9680 7 months ago
@Steelidea Because Black Swan used Tchaikovsky's music, so it is not all original.
