On 24th October I changed and gave up caffeine, meat, shellfish, fish, dairy products and eggs. I also cut down on processed flours and sugars. I had to make exceptions on the dairy products and eggs when in conferences and travelling so I am not a pure vegan yet but at the office and at home I have now been vegan for over 50 days. I still need to work out how to take out all dairy, all eggs and most veg oils.
I went vegan for a year to see how it would be. I deemed 30 days not realistic to try anything - for me anyway. And after that year, I asked myself if I wanted to add back in products. I said no - nothing. After year 2 I did add back in honey, but have again phased that out now since going 80/10/10 - no cravings for anything sweet anymore.
I remember when i was 18-20 year old, i dont even touch my food if there is no chicken or atleast an egg.....^^ Now ?? Last week i went to kitchen and saw my freind getting ready to cook. I came out immediately as i felt gross when i saw that dead body and its smell...ohhh
When you become a vegetarian, after 1-2 years, you cant even look at the chicken. its so gross.
Awesome. Hope you stayed vegan. I've been vegan for 4 years now and it's been a new life, a new way of being and I could never revert back to eating animal products. I love being vegan.
@GBHartists I am vegan now for just 3 months. Not really a long time. But I feel it was the most important decision in my life. I am glad that there is youtube and people like you, showing to me that i might probably not be the only one going through these feelings.
iam so glad there are open minded people like you (and me) in the world. after i had adapted my vegan/veg lifestyle (i hate the word diet) i started feeling awesome (physically and emotionally) but i got plenty of rude questions and snotty comment from close-minded people... idk, iam just glad i found someone more like me in the world :]
Congrats on keeping it going! Be sure to check out Animal Ingredients from A to Z for some of the hidden things in food, cosmetics, and other products. It is quite baffling how many things are tainted. Not sure if you had been told about the book or not yet. Also check out the Global Vegan Network. Keep it up!
OMG I am blown away by how sneaky companies are by putting dairy in just about everything. Heck, I found FISH sauce in Balance Bars! What is fish sauce doing in those? Soooo crazy. You are right.. so many things are filled with unnecessary products. Thanks for the referrals too!!
So far I've continued my vegan diet. To be honest, I can't even imagine eating meat or dairy. Just makes me think I'll feel like a ton of lard. :) You're right, it really wasnt that hard. Just had to open my eyes to what is actually IN food. I'm still shocked as how much dairy is in everything that has no business being in. thanks for the comment!
You make it sound like it was 30 days of eating rocks. The point of being a vegan is not what we eat, but how we view the world. There is no experiment that can replicate the feeling we get when we consider the animals to be worthy of rights. It's a shame that you missed the major part of veganism. Perhaps, in an attempt to be more truly vegan, you bought all vegan products such as shampoo and deodorant, but I the desire fails me to watch your vlog to find out for sure.
It shouldn't be a challenge, it should be a standard diet.

Are you going to continue being vegan?
It would kind of be a shame to stop being vegan. Its not like its hard or anything...
Its not like veganism is a challenge, but I do like the Idea of a 30 day challenge!
Anyway, so heres to hoping that you stay vegan!
