Um, i think there were 5 mario's, because there were only like 5 different poses while running and jumping. Ummm...I think it took about 14 hours of work spanning two days.

Umm...you should try doing the "New Super Mario" (DS Lite game) 'World 8 Level 1':)if you want or do 'World 1 Level'

That might be a little hard since it's fake 3D and the movements are more advanced. I think older 2-D games work the best.

Thanks! Yep, I printed out all the backgrounds, cut out about 5 different Mario's for different poses, and took a ton of pictures. :)
