Stuff of flesh made real: I'm old enough to have caught them/him first time round, but nevertheless what an absolute treat to be able to catch them again
@Zhantohn You can just click the red baloon on the video control bar and hide it.
And it's not a "stupid banner", it's a bar that helps people to find the full playlist of that excelent live Jethro Tull performance and watch every part of it they like.
Craney is without a doubt one of the great drummers ever, this video was a HUGE influence on me when I was a young teen starting out and this shit is still rippin' to this day, rest in peace Mark!
I find this Anderson love/hate thing on the part of commenters funny. Too much Ian on camera, etc. There would be no Jethro Tull without Anderson; there would be no time capsule of virtuoso Eddie Jobson with Tull. Wasn't EJ hopscotching band gigs at the time? Ian was a force: often imitated, often ridiculed, never duplicated. @BigDaddy, thks very much for the videos, as I can't view my old Laserdisc copy- but director David Mallett was the go-to guy in those days. Tull was lucky to get him!
Easily my favorite version of this song. Martin rips from the insanely hot guitar intro, to the best solo I've heard him do in Aqualung. I miss those double cutaway Hamers. He knew how to make them rock!
Right On!!! been looking for this version of the Aqualung video for years!! This is the version of the video that MTV used to play in the early 1980's when i was in high school...THANKS FOR POSTING THIS FOR REAL!!
Barre's solo is fantastic on this version! And that god Anderson gets off the stage during it....and naturally, during Mark Craney's amazing fills near the end, we're looking at Anderson again. I swear, every time I see a clip of this band about 95% of the screen time is given to him. Frustrating. There's an entire band on stage!
@drumrnva I think the same thing every time that I watch their videos, you just CAN'T have the camera on somebody when someone else is playing his part! I mean, that means you are a bad director, end of story!
I truly love the way they perform and they are my favorite band, but that mistake is really annoying.
@drumrnva Agree wholeheartedly. The director and/or editor are obviously not musicians. The first thing I noticed was how good the band and sound mix was, but nowhere to be seen! Sad. This is a great band!
the guy's on crack

This is BY FAR the best version of Aqualung simply due to the impeccable drumming of the late, great Mark Craney. God Bless you, Mark.

What I like about Ian Anderson is that he's not a rock star so much as a REAL musician.

Great video but you get a dislike for that stupid red banner you have on the bottom during the video.
