  • I don't believe in putting a pet down because of an injury like this. Some people just kill them rather than keep them in the family with modifications to their routine. I'm so glad you still have Clark and care so much for him. It gives me joy to no end to see such a kind and caring owner/mother ;)

  • Putting a dog to sleep because they can't walk is out of ignorance. There are still too many vets reading old text book ideas and no experience living with a paralyzed animal to know to a dog the important thing in life is chasing squirells, food, a warm place to sleep, food, and love of their owner oh, and did I mention food? Notice walking is not on the list.... dogs adjust to what is and then get on with the business of enjoying life. Check out DodgerslistDOTcom and help educate.

  • What a sweet precious dog. I can tell he is happy and well loved. He is adorable. Hug him for me please....

  • Animals never let anything stop them. Its so sweet and what a cutie pie.

  • nice to see you care, as long as he is happy its good, if not........you should .........you know what i mean............not for have less problems.....more for humanity to the dog ( since all other is egoism...special to post this here quite proof you do it for........dunno.your name?`)

  • Clark has disc disease. He had two herniations. The 1st he walked right after surgery. The 2nd herniation there was a complication. He has been paralyzed for 2 yrs. In his mind he has no handicap. He's 1st to breakfast, his sister still sees him as the alpha dog. He has a wheelchair for walks in the woods and other outdoor activities. Clark is enjoying all that life has to offer, just a bit differently than before the injury.

  • I also have a doxie girl who is a scooter...she had two discs herniate this past summer...he surgery was not a success and she has limited use of her back legs....she also has a cart for outdoor walks and I have to express her 5-6 times a day...I love her to death...she is a happy, healthy active little girl who is always first in line to play, eat and go for walks...they are worth every minute...Clark is a doll!! Just keep enjoying him : )

  • U r the best owner for him...

    Go clark, go...

  • aww he is just too cute.

its a nice pad u made for him.

  • Look at Clarkster! He probably scoots as fast as any dog could walk. LOL. Clark has a great life!!

  • you are such a wonderful owner!

    go clark go!!

  • sweet boy

  • omg!!! clark is SO cute!!! i have a doxie in a cart myself. they are the best!

    xoxox

  • I also have a "scooter" indoors as well. May I ask how you made that "bumpad"? Did Clark also loose control of his bladder and bowel? My lil guy did and I wrap a diaper around his middle to catch any dribble, but I liked the design you came up with as well.

  • you are a indeed a kind soul to keep a dog like Clark. Hey on the bright side, he doesn't look paralyzed. Enjoy your beloved animals!!!

  • Fortunately dogs live in the moment. They don't pine away for the past nor let physical disability bother them. They adjust and move on. Today Clark chased sticks in his wheelchair, soaked up the sun on the deck, gnawed on a meaty bone from the freezer & watched TV on a warm lap. Yup, Clark is enjoying the heck out of life. He has a lot of personality and brightens our day with his funny antics.

  • I think this dog needs her sack cleaned :(

  • Do you mean annal glands??? No, that is not why he scoots. Clark's back legs are paralyzed. He uses a wheelchair outdoors. A wheelchair is only for a short periods as his front legs get tired. So for indoors he's a scooter!
